For the past 4 weeks I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks some 6 minutes apart...this is baby no3 but my eldest are 10 and 8 so it’s been a while since my last baby.

Last night I was having windy type pains in my tummy and tightenings. I’ve lost my mucus plug and at my last check up 2cm dilated but able to stretch to 4cm...I’m having contractions regularly today but not very painful! I know baby will be here any minute but it’s so frustrating not knowing how long I’m going to feel like this 😩 so excited to meet my baby girl!
I’m currently eating a whole pineapple bouncing on my ball 😂😂😂 anyone else bored with the wait?? Xxxx

I’ve been in hospital since 7am- had the 24 hour pessary but literally nothing whatsoever so far.

When they checked this morning she still said the cervix was too high to do a sweep etc. They keep talking about the days it might take! Sort of hoping that something happens in the night...

Our gorgeous girl was born yesterday at 6.30pm by VBAC (11 days past due date like her sister), we are both doing very very well and I’m delighted. This is nearly over for you guys, keep strong!!!!

RowenaDedalus · 15/10/2018 03:56

I was just wondering how you were afloat- wonderful, lovely news. Congratulations! I’m lying in bed in hospital with no contractions at all listening to some little babies have a good old cry and hoping I will have one sooner rather than later. Congratulations again and enjoy some newborn cuddles Smile

MaverickSnoopy · 15/10/2018 06:04

Congratulations afloat!! I had a feeling!

Rowena, at least they've managed to get you in I suppose. It's so frustrating when it takes so long sometimes and stays in hospital just seem to stretch on, especially when not much is happening.

RowenaDedalus · 15/10/2018 07:27

Definitely. I’m now thinking if I shouldn’t have gone for induction and just let nature take its course because my body doesn’t yet seem to be responding to any of the medications after 24 hours. But maybe I was too optimistic for that to happen!

MaverickSnoopy · 15/10/2018 09:13

But you didn't know this would be the outcome! You can only ever make the best decision with the information that you have to hand. My mum went into spontaneous labour with me but then didn't progress and had to have two lots of drugs to progress.

The irony is that whilst this bit drags like crazy, pretty soon (in the grand scheme of things) your baby will be here and time will star flying by.

All my efforts last night have obviously done "something". In lots of discomfort today and feel very different, but can't quite work out how. Baby incredibly active too. Want to go back to bed. Toddler wants to use me as a climbing frame!

RowenaDedalus · 15/10/2018 10:03

Toddlers don’t quite get the memo that you need a rest, do they?! I hope we both have our babies very soon.

MaverickSnoopy · 15/10/2018 12:10

Currently sat with a hot water bottle as the cramps are quite severe today. I feel like they're becoming more productive. I want to call DH home from work, because it could take him an hour to get here, but I know it's not bad enough for that yet and am still very dubious!

RowenaDedalus · 15/10/2018 21:09

Hope the cramps have come to something Maverick. I’ve had irregular contractions for about five hours now. Had a wander around the hospital and will now be going to bed to try and get some rest.

MaverickSnoopy · 15/10/2018 21:18

That sounds promising! Have they said what happens next if they don't ramp up?

Everything has subsided here :-( I really thought this was it earlier.

RowenaDedalus · 15/10/2018 21:57

It might kick back in again tonight when you rest and relax though.
Basically I think if nothing happens then it will end in a section but I’m not entirely sure.
I’m getting quite a few pains now and trying to gear myself up to waddle down the corridor and ask for some pain relief!

MaverickSnoopy · 16/10/2018 08:21

I hope you're progressing!

I'm back to the drawing board. Still got cramps but nothing like yesterday.

Foodylicious · 16/10/2018 12:55

congratulations afloat

Fx the rest of You are there soon!

MaverickSnoopy · 17/10/2018 06:16

Any news Rowena?

RowenaDedalus · 17/10/2018 18:31

Finally got my lovely DD this morning after a fairly traumatic induction and birth. Feel exhausted and sore but very pleased with myself. How are you? Anything happening yet?

GhengisCalm · 17/10/2018 19:31

Congratulations Thanks

MaverickSnoopy · 17/10/2018 20:52

Ahhh congratulations! I hope you're ok - take it extra easy. See, I told you that you wouldn't be last.

Nothing going on here. Induction now booked for Saturday and I don't think she's coming before then.

RowenaDedalus · 18/10/2018 00:05

The induction side of mine was fairly straightforward and I found the staff and midwives really supportive. If you are induced I hope it’s a really positive experience. You never know though, these babies can appear beforehand!

afloat · 18/10/2018 12:51

Maverick I was having similar stop-start contractions and what got me going properly was some spinning babies (this one: spinningbabies.com/learn-more/techniques/other-techniques/abdominal-lift/ ) some dancing and not lying down. I was worried i would exhaust myself but after 2 nights of not sleeping I was ready for anything. After doing a couple of those lifts through contractions they started to strengthen and I went in at 5cm dilated.

Hope you have your baby soon!!

Foodylicious · 18/10/2018 16:32

Congratulations rowena
Well done you!
Go easy in yourself and fx for a speedy(ish) recovery

MaverickSnoopy · 19/10/2018 09:52

Thanks afloat that's really useful....unfortunately my contractions have stopped! I will keep it open on my phone just in case.

41+6 and having a sweep today. Plan to walk lots after despite awful pgp. Otherwise induction first thing tomorrow. They've said they only need to break my waters (like last time) so fingers crossed.

Foodylicious · 19/10/2018 12:49

Fx for you maverick

MaverickSnoopy · 19/10/2018 15:56

Well I'm currently in delivery suite waiting to have my waters broken. They called me up and said they could fit me in. Sweep this morning also seems to have done something as I'm having contractions again.

RowenaDedalus · 19/10/2018 16:24

Oh brilliant! Come on baby Maverick!

MaverickSnoopy · 19/10/2018 16:46

Still waiting....but I can hear crying babies....
