Hey, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and that I’ll be due in May. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and have no children so I’m really nervous! It’s still really early but would love to talk to other people due in May. Even though I know it’s still really early and lots of people may not know their due date yet!

Rhibee85 · 02/09/2018 08:02

Do these tests look ok for 3 days apart? The lines just don’t seem to be getting darker?

Due May 2019
Fizzlekatz · 02/09/2018 08:18

@rhibee - the second one looks darker to me!

Redken24 · 02/09/2018 12:17

Hi - positive home test last Sunday and another in nurse office on Wednesday. Can't remember what happened last time I was pregnant. DDC says May 2nd. Struggling to believe it as the first time I was pregnant I was so nauseous.

Redken24 · 02/09/2018 12:18

Yes the ssecond one is definitely darker. X

valafitz · 02/09/2018 14:09

@loupelou7 how exciting! Is this your first?

loupelou7 · 02/09/2018 15:50

@valifitz yes it is! How about you?

valafitz · 02/09/2018 16:08

@loupelou7 me too! We're sooooo excited! X

thatshabbychick · 02/09/2018 17:25

Hi Ladies.
I got my BFP on Wednesday! It will be our third child and according to my dates I'll be due 12/5/2019. I already have two boys and always wanted two boys, so I have no gender preference at all. I just hope I have a healthy pregnancy!
Is anyone else overweight? I have a BMI if around 32 ish. I'm so annoyed because I was overweight/obese for both my previous pregnancies, then after having my second son I lost 2 stone, I still wasn't slim, but I felt and looked a LOT better and then in the last year or so I've gained it all back and now preggers!! I was loosely following SW and I know I can stay with it during pregnancy, but to be honest SW kinda irritates me and I'm tempted to just do my own thing. I'd love to lose some weight whilst pregnant to be honest, I know that it can be done safely and can actually benefit you and the baby during the labour etc. I just don't want to get any bigger because I'm already so annoyed at myself for gaining the 2 stone back 😩😩 xx

MrsReader · 02/09/2018 18:02

Hi @thatshabbychick. I'm bordering on overweight having gained a stone in the last year or so. I was gonna sort it out before I got pregnant but truthfully just couldn't be arsed 😆

Fizzlekatz · 02/09/2018 19:24

Has anyone who has done this before got tips on maternity clothing. I.e. how much to get and what are essentials? I don’t want to go mad so trying to plan in advance what’s strictly necessary

JLB7 · 02/09/2018 19:36

@Fizzlekatz glad you asked this as I was wondering the same! Also I've heard that buying a decent maternity bra early on is a good idea for sore breasts. Mine are currently really sore so I was wondering which brand is best? Don't mind on cost as long as it's worth it!

Redken24 · 02/09/2018 19:38

I bought work trousers last time. Over the bump ones.
This time planning on probably the same. Comfy maternity trousers even linen if I can find on ebay. I think I just bought bigger vest tops and used cardis too.
I never bought a nursing bra as I didn't breastfeed. When my boobs got massive I got measured and got a few cheap bras and wore my sports bra.
Congratulations guys xx

MsHopey · 02/09/2018 21:15

I brought most my stuff a size bigger from Primark. Leggings and bodycon dresses fit lovely with the bump. I'm a size 20 and looked lovely at the end of my preganany last time with a big bump.
I had one pair of maternity trousers for work.
Comfort is important, but mostly bodycon dresses or flowy dresses leaving enough room for bump.
I used a high impact sports bra for my maternity bra.
It depends on what your personal taste and how fast/big your bump grows.
But I wouldn't buy loads as you really don't need that much and alot of normal clothes will make do it you have the right cut.

JLB7 · 02/09/2018 21:50

@MsHopey did you find sports bras padded enough in the cup? I'm finding that if anything even slightly grazes my boobs at times it hurts they are so sensitive! I'm a DD at the moment and struggling to find anything I like in my size, and it's only going to get more difficult!! (Maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places!) 😅

MsHopey · 03/09/2018 06:42

@JLB7 not going to lie, my boobs never got very painful at any point. They're not very sensitive Blush
So that wasn't a big issue for me, it helped when they started producing milk as it was a big enough cup for the breast pad, leaking was my biggest worry as I started producing milk at around 28 weeks pregnant last time. It also gave them extra support when they felt a bit heavier. But my boobs never got bigger either so I could still carry on buying my regular size.
I don't know what could help if they're that painful to be honest, sorry Sad

MsHopey · 03/09/2018 07:04

I'm feeling a bit nauseous this morning, there's been a little bit of try fetching Sad. I've got a little bit of a cough at the moment and me coughing seems to be affecting my gag reflex. Not good. I'm just trying to calm my cough down before I'm sick.

JLB7 · 03/09/2018 07:56

@MsHopey I'm hoping it's just a phase and that it will stop soon, I'm sure some other symptom will turn up and distract me from this one! 😅 sorry your not feeling to good today, take it easy x

ttcat32 · 03/09/2018 08:41

Morning All,

@JLB7 I've found that using nipple covers really helps with the sensitivity, i got mine for a few pounds off amazon and just stick them on every day!.

@MsHopey, i think the dreaded morning sickness may be upon us! Haven't been retching but very nauseous, hopefully we get through another week before it starts!

goldopals · 03/09/2018 12:12

Are there any other Aussies in this group? I had my first doctor's appointment today and found out that I'll get my first scan at seven weeks (currently 4+3), followed by one at twelve.

I'm quite anxious; I'm going back tomorrow to get the results of a blood test. They were testing for pregnancy as well as others (6 vials if blood). I'm worried that they'll find nothing and it was just a series of false positives

Dg89 · 03/09/2018 12:17

Congratulations I found out last week I am pregnant and would only be about 4 weeks I'm over the moon and will be due in may.

loupelou7 · 03/09/2018 12:33

Congratulations :) Just wondered does anyone else feel like they have an empty stomach?! Like that nervous feeling you get before doing a speech or something?! I am not sure whether it's worrying and anxiety causing it or it's just something that can happen in pregnancy. It's like constant butterflies! Usually I eat house and home but I'm sort of forcing myself to eat at the moment, gone right off food. Anyone else?!

newmumFeb17 · 03/09/2018 12:39

Hi ladies,
Definitely feeling nauseous this morning 🤢 I'd forgotten how bad it was!

With maternity stuff, just get a couple of decent pairs of maternity jeans. I found a lot of brands charge so much more for 'maternity' when you can just get away with a larger size!
