Hey, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and that I’ll be due in May. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and have no children so I’m really nervous! It’s still really early but would love to talk to other people due in May. Even though I know it’s still really early and lots of people may not know their due date yet!

I used colour b4 before I found out I was pregnant, which your aren't supposed to dye over for 4 weeks.
I've been left with a gingery, brown, faded mess. And it's so dry.
I don't know what I would do if I couldn't dye over it in a few weeks!

@Fizzlekatz Hi, I would say maternity clothes wise that getting a couple of comfy pairs of maternity leggings/trousers are a must. I wouldn't bother with maternity bras, as you can just buy bigger cup size bras, you don't need them specially fitted. Pyjamas can just be some cheapy ones from Primark in the next size up. I do personally think that maternity tops looks nicer than normal ones, because they are designed to fit well round your shoulders etc still, but more room for your growing bump. I don't think it looks good when people wear their normal tops and they lift up over the bump where they are too small. I wouldn't spend a fortune, but it's definitely worth buying a few staple bits, because they'll tie you over for a couple of months after having the baby too. Even if your tummy goes quite flat again after birth, it's just so nice to be able to wear comfy trousers still when you're sitting down feeding (whether that be by bottle or boob!). You tend to do a lot of sitting down in those first couple of months and it's nice to have clothes that are comfy to sit in xx

Hi can I join please?
I just got my bfp on a frer yesterday and then I did two more and all bfps! So happy! Only 9-10 dpo!
Sore boobs, hunger pangs, and mad heartburn and reflux today!

MsHopey · 04/09/2018 19:18

Hey newbies.

Symptoms have relaxed a bit today and that has got me stressing. I look another test to make myself feel better (got to stop now because I've heard about the hook effect), but my test line is so much darker than my control line.
Its very satisfying and has made me feel a little bit better. I just have to remind myself that most people wouldn't know they're pregnant yet, so the symptoms are likely to be not very obvious.
How's every body else feeling?
I think that 12 week scan will sort me out and make me realise it's real and is really happening again.

@thatshabbychick - thank you!

Hangryforpizza · 04/09/2018 19:39

Hey all! Also found out I am pregnant for the first time . Due date 1st May! Excited but nervous! I have started getting the nausea but I am also getting these weird hunger pangs which absolutely cannot wait until I've eaten something to he point where if I'm in the car I will pick up some food instead of waiting to go home! And I'm usually not a big eater either ! Also hormones are making me a bit irritable and snappy! Anyone else have this cos I feel awful when I get annoyed over silly things and my poor hubby is on the recieving end!

MrsReader · 04/09/2018 20:05

Congratulations @Hangryforpizza!

Not got to that stage yet but you're a week ahead of my due date so I'll let you know if I feel that way in a weeks time 😂

Rooney4444 · 04/09/2018 20:10

MrsReader · 04/09/2018 22:30

Aww congratulations @Rooney4444 🌈💖

vitadolce2015 · 05/09/2018 08:26

Hey everyone!

Can I join? I got my bfp on Sunday, apparently I'm due 12th May.

This is my second pregnancy after a miscarriage last summer. It's been a long wait for DP to be ready to try again, but it's happened 1st month TTC this time around (very) luckily!!

I'm so happy , but also nervous. It's reassuring seeing that I'm not alone in that!! I also know that I got through a pregnancy loss and am stronger for it, and I don't want to let that ruin this pregnancy. Just keeping my fingers crossed this bean is sticky!!

Thanks for all the useful tips re maternity wear!! Makes me feel excited 😊

My symptoms so far have been crazy vivid dreams, lower back ache, dizzy spells and (tmi alert) constipation. My boobs are bigger but not massively sore yet.

Anyone else had these symptoms?

CONGRATS EVERYONE!!!

goldopals · 05/09/2018 08:42

I've had minor dizzy spells, and my boobs are at least three inches bigger than what they were. I've also got an iron deficiency and vitamin d deficiency.

I'm most pissed off about the last one. I'm Australian!

expatlife · 05/09/2018 10:21

I have an appointment next week to confirm pregnancy and then think it will feel more real. After such a long time trying, I'm just trying to keep positive and hope everything goes ok! Counting down to the 12 week mark!

@goldopals haha. I used to have exactly the same when I was living in Australia. Think it's because we are so conscious of the sun and staying out of it!

Ragaroo · 05/09/2018 12:14

Hi all,
I'm due 6th may 2019, if I go 2w+1 overdue baby will be born on my husband's 40th :)
Today is the 5th anniversary of a twin missed mc I had at 11 weeks pregnant.
My little boy has just turned 3 and I had another mc a couple months ago (was only around 5 weeks pregnant I think)
I'm scared because I don't feel sick yet, a bit of boob ache. My my one good pregnancy I was very sick from 5 to 20 weeks. My first preg which ended in mc I was sick up until the preg stopped progressing (6 to 8 weeks)

To me, sickness is a sign of good pregnancy. I might do another test to check my hormomes later. As I'm 5+2 now so overdue sickness!!
Wishing all you ladies luck xx

Fizzlekatz · 10/09/2018 18:46

Hi everyone! It’s been quiet on this thread. I’ve been to the GP and now have details to book in for my maternity care and most importantly the 12-week scan! From having no symptoms I’ve suddenly developed a sicky feeling all day. Its worse when I’m hungry and so I’ve taken to carrying snacks around with me at all times! Also my nipples are really tender and painful! How’s everyone else doing? Smile

Pinky333777 · 10/09/2018 19:58

Hi @Fizzlekatz

I've just been really tired, waking up feeling like I have a hangover Confused
I filled out a form to register with the midwife last week. I'm waiting for them to get back to me with an appointment - expecting to hear within a week or two.
Hope others are well x

Sparkles1992 · 10/09/2018 20:20

Hi @Fizzlekatz

I feel ok, which is worrying me a bit! I felt unwell but I think that was my nerves, I feel great at the moment other than a tiny bit of stomach ache in the morning.

I have a midwife apt on wed and a scan next fri, can't wait to put my mind at ease! Anyone else getting a reassurance scan?

X

goldopals · 10/09/2018 20:44

Sparkles1992

I'm getting a scan a seven and a half weeks. I think it is actually standard in Australia. I still have to pay because if I'd waited for the public system it wouldn't be until mid October and they couldn't guarantee being able to book my 12 week due to the waiting list.

Fizzlekatz · 10/09/2018 21:23

@pinky333777 totally have that hangover feeling too. So unfair when we can’t even drink!

@sparkles1992 a reassurance scan is tempting, I wonder how much they’ll be able to see. I think I’ll wait until 12 weeks, I kind of like the anticipation! Grin

Sparkles1992 · 11/09/2018 20:42

They can see a heartbeat and how many babies there are Wink and they just date the pregnancy and check all is in the right place. I think 12 weeks is too long to wait, I'm already panicky because I've had barely any symptoms so I'd drive myself insane waiting!

Sparkles1992 · 11/09/2018 20:42

Good luck with your scan @goldopals mine is next week Smile

LeslieLR · 12/09/2018 16:14

So I went for my early scan today to check it wasn't a 2nd ectopic. The good news is that it's not as gestational sac and yolk sac were seen in uterus. Massively relieved about this!

But bad news is that they couldn't see an embryo let alone a heartbeat as I had hoped. According to my LMP, I'm 6+ 4 today but I'm known to have irregular cycles so midwife said not to worry, I could have my dates wrong and be earlier than this. But she didn't seem particularly convinced either by what she was saying...

They want me back on the 24th for another scan. This constant uncertainty is just killing me :( I'm feeling really really deflated right now and not very optimistic at all. Would love some good vibes sent my way!
I do hope all is going well with your respective pregnancies :)

Pebblespony · 12/09/2018 16:16

Hi, can I join. Think I'm due the 20th with my second.

momoa80 · 12/09/2018 16:44

Hello! I'm tentatively joining too. I'm 38 this will be no 3. I had a miscarriage April 2017 so I'm rather nervous. Also my last period was 12/7 and I've been testing on and off for the past week or 2, but yesterday I got 3 faint BFP. So I'm thinking I'm only 4 weeks, although gp has gone off my last period. I just hope I don't get a scan too early to not see an embryo as that happened last time, even though seeing a HB won't be that reassuring anyway as I saw one with my M/C. Trying to be positive though 🤞

momoa80 · 12/09/2018 16:46

It's an eBay cheapie, but a positive I think, what do you ladies think?

Due May 2019
Pinky333777 · 12/09/2018 18:42

Very faint but yes x
Test again in a coupla days 😊
