Hey, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and that I’ll be due in May. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and have no children so I’m really nervous! It’s still really early but would love to talk to other people due in May. Even though I know it’s still really early and lots of people may not know their due date yet!

Same! Addicted to testing Blush

Peeing loads, really bloated and having cramps on one side- hope it's nothing bad

MsHopey · 30/08/2018 18:48

@MrsReader if you're getting symptoms I wouldn't worry. The first few weeks of pregnancy are just like AF for a lot of people including cramps (expanding uterus), bleeding (implantation), and lots of others.
I've had cramping and spotting but I've still got my other symptoms, Google says unless it's terrible cramps a long with excessive bleeding than don't worry too much.
But mention it to your midwife at your next appointment.

Fizzlekatz · 30/08/2018 19:04

I only tested the once but am going to try again later, sounds like fun Smile

I am starting to get worried about telling my work. I recently got a new promotion and my manager said something along the lines of “you better not get pregnant now” in a jokey way that was also serious! Sad

Fizzlekatz · 30/08/2018 19:06

And @mrsreader as @mshopey says, I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about but I know what you mean looking out for every sign! Definitely mention it when you have your next appointment if only to put your mind at rest!

OrangeWoman · 30/08/2018 19:11

Hello 👋🏾

I just got my BFP yesterday and I’m 3w+4 by my calculations I’m due on May 13th.

Congratulations to everyone and looking forward to being on this journey with you all.

Fizzlekatz · 30/08/2018 19:33

Welcome @orangewoman!

MsHopey · 30/08/2018 20:11

@Fizzlekatz it's a shame, but I'd ignore it. You've got the promotion now and you are doing to have a gorgeous baby in 8 months. You get the best of both worlds and it's not really your fault as no matter when we try and plan for babies they come when they feel like it.
@OrangeWoman welcome fellow may baby moma. I'm 4 weeks today, though my app saying implantation would just have happened, and I had implantation bleeding 2 weeks ago, so I think in a bit further a long than expected by a week or so

Fizzlekatz · 30/08/2018 21:20

@mshopey you’re definitely right and it’s the same advice id give to anyone else too. I just can’t help but feel bad especially as I’m covering a maternity position Grin ha ha.

@orangewoman I just took a clear blue digital test. It puts me at 2-3 weeks but who knows how accurate that is!!

Sparkles1992 · 30/08/2018 21:40

Hi all Smile congratulations ! I got my positive yesterday 11dpo and it's a much strong line today and hoping tomorrow will be even more so. Think I'm due around the 9th- first baby too!

I have lost my appetite but I'm unsure if thats nerves/shock etc.. as this was the first month TTC and I did not expect it at all! Feeling lucky about that. I usually have a massive appetite and only managed by tea and two breakfast bars today which worries me.. I haven't really had any symptoms other than that, no sore boobs or anything. I have been peeing a lot more though!

I've told my mum and sister & a few others and my sister is pregnant too Smile

Just hoping for a smooth 8 months and absolutely shitting bricks already about labour!
Anyone else feeling anxious/nervous etc? X

MrsReader · 30/08/2018 23:18

Thanks ladies, it's not been severe, I think I'm just hyper aware of every symptom! I've had a few nightmares about losing the baby 😰 I think I didn't realise till I read the ttc threads that it was so common and it's making me worry.

I'll feel a lot better after 12 week scan!

MsHopey · 31/08/2018 06:28

@Sparkles1992 welcome.
I've had a few symptoms, but without the morning sickness it doesn't feel real, which is silly because obviously no one actually wants it. The only nerves and anxiety I have are similar to @MrsReader, im just terrified something bad will happen and I'll lose the baby. It all happened so fast for me aswell, I got pregnant on the first month TTC, and I just feel so lucky but that it's too good to be true. If I have trapped gas causing cramps, then I'm petrified, a little bit of spotting, I'm petrified.
I agree, I will feel an awful lot better when the 12 week scan hopefully says everything is going perfectly.

Fizzlekatz · 31/08/2018 07:47

Welcome @sparkles1992! It also doesn’t feel real to me yet - I think once I’m booked in for the midwife etc I’ll start to feel more excited / nervous.

Is anyone into pregnancy podcasts? I’d love some recommendations if anyone has any Smile

Fizzlekatz · 31/08/2018 07:48

@mshopey - no morning sickness for me either! Really strange as I’m usually the one who gets car/ air/ seasick

MrsReader · 31/08/2018 08:01

Totally agree @MsHopey, I'm actually looking forward to morning sickness 😂

OrangeWoman · 31/08/2018 08:24

Thanks @fizzlekatz and @MsHopey

Not much in the way of symptoms for me yet. Just bloating and a bit of cramping really, if it wasn’t for the 5 pregnancy tests I’ve taken I wouldn’t think I was pregnant.

We got pregnant first time too. We really weren’t expecting it to happen so quick.

I think it’s normal to have some nerves and anxiety, I certainly do, as I’ve had friends and family members who have had miscarriages.

loupelou7 · 31/08/2018 08:42

@mrsreader I have exactly the same thing on my left side, it's been a bit sharper than usual period cramps but still very mild. I'm sure wind plays a part!!

Can anyone else not sleep well? I'm literally wide awake at all sorts of funny hours which is not usual for me at all. And having horrid acid reflux at night! I thought it would be too early for all that but then I've always been overly sensitive to things!

Guiver1985 · 31/08/2018 08:44

Hi everyone, I have also found out I am pregnant due the 8th May, seems to be a populated date! This will be my fourth (and final) child. I have a 10,7 and 5 year old. It still doesn’t feel real and I’m nervous about what people will say and think as it’s our fourth. I’ve had nausea and feel really tired. Booked in with the midwife 17th September :-)

ttcat32 · 31/08/2018 08:53

@Sparkles1992 I'm exactly the same! Decide what I am going to eat and then about ten minutes later have no interest in it. It's not making my nauseous I just don't want it 🤷‍♀️

Sparkles1992 · 31/08/2018 09:15

Sounds like a lot of us have been lucky 🍀 I am going to book a dating/reassurance scan when I'm around 7-8 weeks, I think it will sink in more then, I still can't believe I'm on the pregnancy threads not the TTC threads!

How old is everyone? I'm 25Smile

X

Sparkles1992 · 31/08/2018 09:17

@ttcat32 it's crazy isn't it, I think it's more my nerves though than any sickness. I just have a ball/knot in my stomach all day but it is worse when I'm getting up. 😫 hope it reruns soon as I love my food haha.

MsHopey · 31/08/2018 09:19

I can't remember when my morning sickness started with DS, but I was sick every day for 6 weeks in the first trimester, I know every pregnancy is different but I'm waiting for it to hit.
I do agree when you've read the conception threads and know people who have struggled with miscarriages it really brings it home that these things happen more often than you expect, so I am scared of losing it too.
@fizzlekatz I've not looked into any podcasts but if you find some good ones let us know please :)
@loupelou7 I've been getting a bit of reflux when I lie down to go to sleep, and then have been lying there for hours. No idea why, I used to be the best sleeper I know.

goldopals · 31/08/2018 09:20

I don't think I have many symptoms yet; apart from extreme tiredness and increased heart rate. I am feeling sort of period like cramps at times.

loupelou7 · 31/08/2018 18:48

@Sparkles1992 I'm nearly 29.

Has anyone bought any baby bits yet?! I wanted to wait and not jinx it but I just saw a bargain of a Bednest and went for it!!

MsHopey · 31/08/2018 19:04

My DS is only 12mo.
I've kept all his clothes, I've got the steriliser, Moses basket, perfect prep, everything. And I even have some brand new bottles and blankets i didn't use, maternity pads, breast pads, everything.
I'll only need to get new clothes if it's a little girl. Not being able to buy stuff means the baby is really affordable, but not much I can do for now.

loupelou7 · 31/08/2018 19:41

@Mshopey Ah that's really handy, very organised! This is my first baby so I'm starting from scratch, trying not to get too carried away for now!
