Hey, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and that I’ll be due in May. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and have no children so I’m really nervous! It’s still really early but would love to talk to other people due in May. Even though I know it’s still really early and lots of people may not know their due date yet!

Anyone else suffering from lower back pain / belly twinges? I'm 13+1 and my back is killing me. I know my posture isn't always great and I think I'm paying the price for it. I have to literally walk hunched forward to ease the discomfort... I also get all sorts of twinges / spasms in my lower belly, on both sides but more keenly felt on my left side. It "almost" feels like period cramping but not painful, just "there"! It's hard to describe it. Just wondering if anyone is same boat?

Lorrie3 · 01/11/2018 11:16

@LeslieLR I’m with you on the twinges and almost period like cramps particularly on the left hand side ... comes and goes! I’ve no idea what it is and no help to you only I’m in the same boat!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 01/11/2018 11:20

@LeslieLR I’m a bit behind you at 9+5 but I’ve been having awful backache! Right at the bottom and it’s constantly niggling away.

I rang the midwives this morning and they gave me the advice line for the hospital where baby is going to be born (which is 45 minutes away, yes it’s the nearest) that’s all fine and dandy but I’ve got two kids who don’t kno about the pregnancy, OH is at work, no one else knows so it’s really not practical for me to go over there to get checked over 😬

It’s a worry but I think it’s pretty common, my posture isn’t the best either

Tayel · 01/11/2018 12:12

@everythingisnew Do NOT feel bad about this!
You dont feel well and have every right to have time off work and to see a doctor.

Ignore the receptionist they are always a jobs worth, mine is awful! call first thing when they open and say its an emergency appointment.

Try not to worry about baby, the fact you have sypmtons is a good thing I think.

Tayel · 01/11/2018 12:13

@leslielr lower back pain has got me too this week! Im 10+4
Also had small pains in what feels like my left ovary.
Seems like a couple of us have this which is a bit more reassuring x

everythingisnew · 01/11/2018 12:50

@Tayel thank you so much for the reply, it's nice to hear that I'm not being completely ridiculous. I feel less guilty now!

Noodella18 · 01/11/2018 13:23

@everythingisnew . Explain to your boss again that you’re not well enough to be in work and that you have a drs appt to get something for the nausea and will update them after. If he/she persists explain that you’re vomiting and ask whether they would be at work if they were vomiting. Stand firm, you’re not skiving xx

LeslieLR · 02/11/2018 10:31

thank you all for responding. I find it reassuring to know that I'm not the only one with the back pain and twinges!

@everythingisnew, I hope you feel better soon and don't let your boss bully you in coming into work when you're clearly not well enough.

@frankiefumbles I am also a great believer in cheese sauce and have great faith in the goodness of baked beans!

The frozen section is my friend, as are fresh ready meals, some have 2-3 servings in them anyway.

I don't bother beyond that tbh, most in getting is 4 but I view it the same as I would with my kids when little- you need more fat, dairy, carbs and protein in your diet there simply isn't room for that much fruit and veg!

Noodella18 · 02/11/2018 14:20

@bumblebee baked beans count as 1 of your 5 a day! And they contain folic acid and iron :) One of my staple pregnancy foods actually.

frankiefumbles · 02/11/2018 15:38

@Noodella18 my relationship with beans ended last night purely on the basis of how they smelt when they were chilled in the fridge...bleurgh!!! Funny what the sense of smell is doing. They smelt like rotten cabbage!

Noodella18 · 02/11/2018 15:52

@bumblebee oh noooo! Best crack on with making a cheese sauce then!

bumblebee39 · 02/11/2018 16:44

@Noodella18 I don't always even bother sometimes I just mix hot pasta with peas and grated cheese... Omg yum!

@frankiefumbles I don't know how I'd live without baked beans I eat them with everything, on everything etc. Literally eat them cold from the tin 🙈

frankiefumbles · 02/11/2018 18:06

@bumblebee39 that's still cheese sauce. Put a tablespoon of milk in it and then you can fed pass it off as sauce. To cheat I have a little UHT alpro soya cream in the fridge that you can dabble in and seems to last longer than normal cream. Not that I've made a cheese sauce since pregnant. I just like thinking about it. I'm so lazy.

I can't hack it today. I'm in bed. Apparently DSS is coming around later and I'm just not emotionally ready for that so sent shitty text to DH saying neither of them should disturb me on pain of death. Pregnant women are dangerous!!

momoa80 · 03/11/2018 08:01

On the subject of bumps (I'm 11/12 wks) the last week my stomach muscles seem to now recognise I'm pregnant haha! Nutty professor style, I look about 6 mths haha....3rd baby.

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 08:54

@frankiefumbles I know I've promised the kids breakfast out but they are still asleep and enjoying the peace. Feel so sick and tired right now. Been getting up at 4am all week to take my HG meds so I can cope with breakfast, DS morning poonami and DD school run, but today I just want to stay in bed...

Wish I had a DH or DP to take the kids out for me for breakfast. Literally gonna have to make myself get ready and get them up when all I want to do is rest.

Still exP would have made things worse not better... So I am missing something I never had anyway. I know I'm doing the right thing doing this on my own but it's still hard.,

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 08:56

@momoa80 same here! 11-12 weeks here and now can no longer where jeans. Had this go buy some warm leggings the other day which I'm now wearing under the visible bump. Third baby too and I'm measuring fundal height at 26cm 😂 mental and I'm short so it's sooo obvious. Wanted to wait to tell DD until after id been scanned but ended up telling her because she was asking questions 🙄 it's that obvious!

momoa80 · 03/11/2018 09:02

@bumblebee (I'm rubbish at this app haha can't tag!) Definitely crazy, it's like under my boobs I've popped out the most noticable hahaha!! No baby that high up, and feel a phoney 😂😂😂 rubbing my own internal organs with my hand!

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 09:03

@momoa80 exactly that keep expecting to see a hand or foot protruding but nowhere near as far gone as I look.

Baby must be tiny!

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 09:04

@momoa80 swear I'm getting milk in already as well my boobs have swelled up and had a funny lump yesterday that's now gone but no leakage...

momoa80 · 03/11/2018 09:12

@bumblebee39 haha I know right. I'm clinging onto my non maternity clothes for dear life.

I think I'm going a bit loopy too as the last few days, as I've been feeling little bubbly feelings, very low, surely I can't be feeling movement at 11/12 weeks??! Thought it was wind the first time but felt it randomly the last few days.

I've not noticed much change with my boobs apart from they've grown. Even though this is my 3rd baby I'm still blown away how fab us women are...what our bodies go through to carry a baby. Amazing.

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 09:25

@momoa80

I'm feeling little movements too I swear...

Again put it down to wind but genuinely felt like the quickening today...

momoa80 · 03/11/2018 10:15

@bumblebee39 Ooooh maybe we are then! Comforting for sure 😊😊 even if it is wind haha.

bumblebee39 · 03/11/2018 10:17

I know @momoa80

I am glad in a way I am feeling so pregnant it makes me feel more secure that babies ok. Even the sickness I see as a good sign even though it's hard work.

Katekatekate1529 · 05/11/2018 13:59

I’m a bit late to the party but I’m due 11th May 2018, it my first baby. I haven’t had the nicest pregnacy so far being sick once a day, back pain, nose bleeds and my gums are bleeding also my hair is falling out. Now I’m 13 weeks in I’m hoping the tiredness and sickness will subside soon as working is not easy at the moment. It’s nice to hear some others are going through the same thing. I am having vivid dreams, last night I had a baby boy but didn’t have anything I needed to look after him, it’s make me wonder if I’m having a boy. Are you planning on finding out?
