Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

Hi everyone. I am 7 and a half weeks pregnant. Due on the 1st April :). I had my booking in appointment with the midwife today. I am so excited but also nervous at the thought of anything going wrong. Hope everyone is doing well :)

Chivari · 17/08/2018 19:51

Evening everyone! So exciting we are all due April! When do booking appts usually happen? I've been to see my Gp who referred me to my local midwife but not sure what is next? Do they ring me or write to me?

Melrose86 · 17/08/2018 19:58

My gp told me to phone to get a midwife appointment but I think everywhere is different. Think they are usually done at about 8 weeks. Mine was a bit earlier because they had a cancellation x

Chivari · 17/08/2018 20:39

Thanks @Melrose86 😀 I might ring them tomorrow as id love to book mine in soon! I'm nearly 5 weeks so could book one in sometime in September

Unicorn234 · 17/08/2018 20:48

@donna474 I had my 'new patient' appointment with the nurse as I've only just registered at this doctors as I'm fairly new to the area and she just told me to book straight in with the midwife so I haven't even seen a doctor lol xx

Unicorn234 · 17/08/2018 20:51

I will be just over 8 weeks when I have my appointment.... Omg is anyone else spending their life on the toilet? I've turned 6 weeks today and I can't stop going for a wee!! Xx

Chivari · 17/08/2018 21:36

I have definitely noticed more toilet trips @Unicorn234 😂😂 are you really bloated too? I am really bloated (look 15 weeks already), but especially at night. Thinking I will be buying some maternity clothes sooner than expected...

Unicorn234 · 17/08/2018 21:49

@Chivari yes I'm bloated all the time 😂 apart from that I have no other symptoms really, no sickness boobs feel okay.

I've just done another pregnancy test 🙈 I just feel so anxious 😢 xx

Chivari · 17/08/2018 22:06

I don't have any sickness yet thank god @Unicorn234 but apparently that comes at week 6. Ive got sensitive nipples and my boobs have definitely grown. I also feel completely wiped out by about 3pm every day. I've bought some more tests and plan to do one once a week just to reassure myself!

Any guesses what sex you will have? And are you planning to find out? Xx

Unicorn234 · 17/08/2018 22:24

@Chivari no I've got no sickness either although I did struggle with my breakfast this morning lol.
I'm 6 weeks today so I'll probably have all these lovely symptoms to look forward to 😂🙈
I've just done my last test tonight, my heart was beating so fast, but thankfully everything seems okay 😊
I am going to find out what we are having, I personally think I will have a boy but I'm happy either way what about you?xx

Lisaloo15 · 17/08/2018 22:26

Hey ladies can I join in 😍 not my first but got my bfp tonight!

Unicorn234 · 17/08/2018 22:32

Welcome @Lisaloo15 congratulations on your bfp 😍😍

Melrose86 · 17/08/2018 22:44

Congratulations Lisaloo!x

Lisaloo15 · 17/08/2018 23:24

Thank you! Don't think I believe it yet but two clear positives, will be due around 24th April 😃😃 DS is 3 and I suffered severe hyperemesis last time so I'm nervous but trying to think positive!!

jellybeann · 18/08/2018 00:00

My sickness started at about 4 weeks, lucky me!!! I’m getting so bloated the last few days, especially in the evening. I wake up with a flat stomach, and look about 16 weeks gone by the time I go to bed!!

I have a strange feeling it’s a boy, but boyf is adamant it’s a girl!! We’ll definitely be finding out the gender too!

MrsBonnie · 18/08/2018 05:55

This is so exciting! My husband I have just found out we’re having our first baby. We started trying last month and magically it’s happened first time. We were in Japan when we found out, trying to work out the instructions was hilarious.

I’ve taken a test when I got home yesterday just to confirm it in my head. Silly I know because we already had a line but I just wanted to be sure. Look how clear it is! Grin

According to my app I’m due April 18th which I think is the same as a few of you!

I have my first midwife appointment on Monday, they were amazingly quick at getting me in.

So I’m 5 + 2 and have no symptoms yet other than painful boobs. Serial worrier here though, “why don’t I have morning sickness yet?” “What’s that cramping feeling mean?” etc. Think I need to relaaaaax! Haha.

when are people telling family and friends?

Looking forward to getting to know some of you!

MrsBonnie · 18/08/2018 06:29

P.S. I'm 26, and a primary teacher! So I'm on Summer holidays right now. Smile

kettleonplease · 18/08/2018 06:35

Amazing how quickly you all have midwife appointments. I'm in Australia and we just have Dr appointments until 20 weeks (as far as I remember anyway). Though we do have an early dating scan, blood tests at 10 weeks to check for abnormalities (and can tell the gender) and then scan at 12 weeks. Funny how much it all differs!

Lisaloo15 · 18/08/2018 06:45

I will go to GP on Monday as I will be seen quick by midwife etc with my past horrid pregnancy there's a lot of medication I will need ready for if the hypetemesis hits again! Last time I was on 20 tablets a day (mixture of anti sickness ones and ranitidine, can't remember what else!) hardly slept last night excitement/worry!! Have an all day wedding today so panicking at the why aren't you drinking question already especially as my brother and SIL will be there, need a good excuse!! 😂

MrsBonnie · 18/08/2018 08:13

@Lisaloo15 yuck about the hyperemesis!

Can you make up an illness that you would be on antibiotics for? Tonsillitis etc? I've been avoiding my MIL since I got home because she has a freaky sixth sense and I know she'll suss it out haha! She already dropped a strange hint about how she knows its silly but she bought a travel cot for any time a future baby arrives. I'm keeping shtum!!

Chivari · 18/08/2018 08:42

Congratulations @MrsBonnie! We were the same and magically got pregnant 1st month. I am also 26. It is my dads birthday in September so we are going to tell him and the rest of my family as a surprise then. I will be around 9-10 weeks by then. I potentially would have told them earlier but think it will be amazing to tell him as a bday surprise! I think we will then tell friends as late as possible, 15+ or however long we can go before we can't hide it anymore. What about you?

@Unicorn234 I think we are going to leave it as a surprise because it is our 1st. My DH's family have a lot of girls so he used to think we would have a girl first but now thinks it is a boy. I am not really sure! I think maybe a girl.... I don't mind!

Omg @jellybeann I am exactly the same as you! Nice flat tum in the morning but by the evening I look 15 weeks lol have you also been getting stiff tummy muscles like you have been doing lots of sit ups?

FSlater · 18/08/2018 09:05

Anyone else experiencing cramping? I got my BFP on Tuesday, my period is due around today/yesterday/tomorrow - and it genuinely feels like AF is coming? Another symptom is that my nipples are sore today! Yay! Hahha who knew I’d celebrate that... x

Hope all you lovely mamas-to-be are well

Chivari · 18/08/2018 09:13

Hi @FSlater yes I had cramping for about a week before AF was due and then for a few days after (even after I got my BFP). I felt like AF was coming but then it never did. I haven't had anymore cramping though - but with you on the sore nipples!

The cramping is just the egg getting comfy in your uterus lining xx

jellybeann · 18/08/2018 09:30

Congratulations @MrsBonnie

jellybeann · 18/08/2018 09:36

Oops, posted that before I had finished haha! Congratulations @MrsBonnie!! We have told one friend each really early on because we were just too excited, and are telling immediate family ASAP (probably will be at about 9 weeks) as a) we are quite young and think they’ll need some adjustment time and b) we live 200 miles away and want to do it in person, so if we don’t do it then we don’t know when we’ll next see them! We’re definitely waiting until at least 12 weeks to tell other friends and family

@Chivari yes I get that too!!

How early do people usually get food cravings? I want to eat anything and everything covered in salt at the moment, constantly having to fight the urge to pig out on McDonalds!!
