Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

I've actually been off work for a while because of an incident where I lost my cool at my boss (finding out I'm pregnant may explain why my emotions were so shot)... I go back in six days and am dreading it if I get morning sickness or fatigue. 10 hour sole charge shifts...

donna474 · 16/08/2018 08:19

I've got the Ovia app, I used the fertility one when trying to conceive. Love it as it gives daily updates and tells you how big it is etc. What's everyone's names for little beans? Ours is Betsy as we figured out I ovulated whilst we were staying in Betws-y-coed in Wales for my 30th birthday!

I'm feeling quite anxious today. Other half keeps asking if I feel pregnant and I honestly don't. I'm only 4+1 so know not to expect much but other than sore boobs i feel fine. Should I be feeling different right now?

OP posts:
unicornxo · 16/08/2018 11:17

@donna474
I feel fine too apart from sore boobs. I always feel a bit hot and sick in the afternoon but apart from that I'm fine. I was getting period pain but that has stopped now. I think every pregnancy is different. My last pregnancy I felt rubbish and had a MMC between 5 & 6 weeks so I think it's hard to tell really.. I don't think the first trimester of pregnancy is enjoyable though as it just makes me feel anxious 😩

donna474 · 16/08/2018 11:54

I'm telling my best friends at dinner tonight and one of them is 5 months pregnant and the other has a 5 month old daughter. Hoping I can get some reassurance from them as can discuss the ins and outs of it all. I do have a headache and the runniest nose ever that I can't seem to shake

donna474 · 16/08/2018 11:54

@LucyC10 how did the other half take the news?

OP posts:
unicornxo · 16/08/2018 15:02

@LowPainThreshold
I'm feeling ok. Not to many symptoms yet though. What about you?

@donna474 are you feeling less anxious this afternoon?

donna474 · 16/08/2018 15:52

I think I'm just going to feel anxious until I get set symptoms, at the moment there's nothing in particular that I could pinpoint to pregnancy. Even the symptoms I do have I don't feel like I can pinpoint to pregnancy as so early on

jellybeann · 16/08/2018 16:00

@donna474 I believe pregnancy lowers your immune system, so could explain the headache and runny nose - you might have caught a cold or something!

donna474 · 16/08/2018 16:29

@jellybeann I think I have and whereas I would usually take cold and flu tablets and dope up on caffeine I'm a bit stuck for a cure!

Just found out I'm pregnant due April 26th a bit nervous as I misscarried last year and it was pretty bad but fingers and toes crossed it's a sticky bean 🙏

donna474 · 16/08/2018 17:29

@mummylewis18 congratulations, I'm due 24th April so we're pretty close. How you feeling at the moment?

GAH. Does anyone else feel like there's so much to do as soon as you find out?
Had my first 'doctor's appointment' yesterday with Family Planning just to confirm I am actually pregnant. They booked a dating scan for me on the 27th of August. I have to go get bloods done with pathlab today (I ran out of time yesterday). I also need to go get my vitamins (totally forgot after collecting the kid from school. Whoops). I also need to call MY doctor and figure out if there's an Ob Gyn or if I want to stick with my GP... find a midwife - I've been advised to wait until after the dating scan for that...

Go through and re-do my grocery shop: Since I did the groceries BEFORE I found out I was pregnant, I had a bunch of food in it which I CAN'T EAT. Thankfully the kid and partner eat them. But I am finding the fridge and pantry pretty bare of things I can eat as a snack.

Books are next I think... not that anyone is complaining in our house about buying more books. All three of us are book worms. Poor kid isn't going to know what hit him though. He's going to get the talk after the dating scan and I'll be asking him 'would you rather my kid think you're their uncle... or brother? (He's my partner's youngest brother) We don't care, you're part of our family'

Unicorn234 · 16/08/2018 19:48

@donna474 I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and I have no symptoms either 😢 apart from my belly feels like something is stretching it from the inside lol, my boobs have become the tiniest bit sensitive today and I can't stay off the toilet! Lol

Chivari · 16/08/2018 20:17

I have lots of bloating (especially in the afternoon and evening). I'm also feeling exhausted! And I have sore/sensitive nipples and some increased leukorrhea CM today.

I did have some cramping last week, but that has stopped. As well as a headache for the past 2 days but that has also gone now.

I have heard that the wait until the 12 week scan can be an anxious time as you don't really feel pregnant for a lot of the time leading up. I've bought myself a few more tests and plan to do one a week just to keep my mind at rest! Maybe give that a go as reassurance if you're feeling anxious xx

LowPainThreshold · 16/08/2018 22:24

Hope telling your friends went well @Donna

@unicorn My boobs hurt and I am, very randomly, the sweatiest I have ever been in my life. I feel like I need to shower 3 times a day. Also getting some random pains here and there and when i sneeze I feel like my uterus is going to fall out.

Had my doctors appt today, was supposed to be Monday but I brought it forward because I couldn't wait any longer. He's given me the website for my self referral to a midwife and was really nice, except he said that I should stop taking Vit b6? I started taking it as soon as I found out I was pregnant as I've heard it helps with morning sickness. Everyone on the internet says take it as it helps, so I'm confused really. I know I will suffer badly as I had a termination when I was 18 because of it. I'm 30 now but getting myself all worked up.

kettleonplease · 16/08/2018 22:58

@Chivari in my first pregnancy I had the worst itching ever, it was unbelievable and so annoying. And sorry to say, it lasted the whole pregnancy as well! It's not a problem but if you have severe itching on the soles of your feet and hands it can be a sign of a problem with your liver- my friend had this as her baby was lying on her liver but both Mum and Baby were absolutely fine.

Chloe929 · 16/08/2018 23:39

I'm at 5 weeks currently and am fine. I have tender nipples, but it's only noticeable when I'm wearing a loose shirt and no bra. I think my appetite has increased slightly, but I also have weird hours so who knows...

Chivari · 17/08/2018 05:48

Hi @kettleonplease my itching only seemed to be for 1 day (so far!). I think my main symptoms are bloating and tiredness now. How many weeks are you?

kettleonplease · 17/08/2018 09:07

5 weeks plus 1 I think, though am yet to go to the dr, or book a dating scan. I'm trying to play it cool this time as I have hated every moment of pregnancy in the past so in denial for another week or so I think :). At least, until the morning sickness kicks in!

unicornxo · 17/08/2018 13:25

@donna474 how you feeling today?

donna474 · 17/08/2018 15:49

I'm feeling fine today @unicornxo. Have told my three best friends so feels a bit more real now. Went clothes shopping today for when I go back to work in the new term and had to plan outfits that I thought would hide any bump that may appear before 12 weeks. Also found some jeggings in Asda which have a large elastic waist so thought I'd give those a try to help with my bloating! Am now frantically getting my house ready as have got my niece coming for a sleepover so god help me with 5.5, 4.5 and 3.5 year old girls for the evening; worst thing is I can't turn to wine 😫

donna474 · 17/08/2018 15:52

I do seem to have lost the ability to sleep with any kind of light threw the windows, usually we sleep with blinds open and it doesn't bother me. I'm going to have to go buy an eye mask I think. Didn't help that 3.5 year old step daughter was shouting "morning Donna" at 7am this morning!

Unicorn234 · 17/08/2018 18:36

Booked my first midwife appointment today for 4th Sept 😊 seems more real now 🙊
I'm 6 weeks today and still not really getting any symptoms hows everyone else doing?xx

donna474 · 17/08/2018 19:31

@Unicorn234 thats so exciting, is this the booking in appointment?
