Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

@LittleTopic aww bless you, stay strong the next few weeks will fly by!

I finalys tarted baby shopping and its sooooooooooooooo confusing.. well not confusing but I'm trying so hard to not get things that I wnt need or go overboard as we dont know the sex of our baby but its hard because I kinda want everything. We've bought the travel set and the next big thing is the cot which I've seen online but I want to see in person before we get it.

Other than that I'm okay, I'm 25+5 and I wonder if its too early to be nesting because I've been waiting all week for the weekend to have a mass clear out and tidy up

Oh and baby kicked yday and it was the first time i properly felt baby's foot. It wasn't aww it was more ewwww. Please tell me I'm not the only one who was freaked out by this???

@ChaosMoon I am doing some days from home but am using my remaining annual leave at the beginning of my mat leave. Part of the issue is that I am working from home more frequently - I'm also undergoing physio for an accident, and I get the sense that not everyone is totally happy with that as I'm not in the office as often as I used to be.

That said, needs must, and it means I can get a full day's work done instead of travelling to and from appointments!

@springmummy19 I'm with you - baby shopping is confusing!

Springmummy19 · 11/01/2019 10:48

@LittleTopic, have you done all of yours or do you still have a lot to get?

LittleTopic · 11/01/2019 10:57

@springmummy19 I've done the big ones - cot, pram, car seat. It's the smaller things I'm struggling with like clothes, bottles as I don't want to go overboard but also don't know how much we need...

Springmummy19 · 11/01/2019 11:06

LittleTopic I literally am only getting a few outfits(about 3 days worth) aand then once bubba arrives and I know if its a boy or girl and also know baby's weight, I will get more plus as it is our first baby I am expecting so many clothes from people. If there is one thing I am told over and over is to not get too many clothes to start off with plus baby will just be in baby grows to start with.

I bought the MAM bottles, I've seen excellent reviews on them and they self sterelise so You don't need to buy a sterilizer as well. I got the big pack but again as soon as I told my sister, she told me I probably won't need that many bottles but I can always keep the rest boxed just in case.

I have a mothercare outlet next to work so I''m going there for the smaller stuff like muslin scarfs, mitts ect but again, if not I can get that stuff from primark as well.

You're not the only one @Springmummy19! I love it and find it hugely creepy in equal parts!

That really sucks that they're being so unsupportive @LittleTopic. They sound like idiots.

Unicorn234 · 11/01/2019 18:52

It's so weird now when the baby moves.. feel like my tummy wants to do a massive flip lol.
Got a 4d scan in 2 weeks time.. So excited 🙊😍

TooSkoolForKool · 11/01/2019 18:59

@LittleTopic I find the kicks a bit creepy too!! I thought I was the only one lol. I mean don't get me wrong it's reassuring but at the same time makes me feel a bit queasy when I think that it's either a hand or foot kicking me from within haha

Blgb · 13/01/2019 10:21

3rd trimester ladies! Final stretch! Hope everyone’s keeping well. Having my baby shower today combined with my 30th, think little mans as excited as I am this morning xx

Unicorn234 · 13/01/2019 19:57

Just wrote my letter informing my employer when I want my maternity pay to start and enclosed my matb1 form
Arghhhhh it's getting real 😂😂

Springmummy19 · 14/01/2019 14:29

@Blgb how was your baby shower?

@Unicorn234 I gave my matB1 form last week and today I'll be confirming when mat will start. I'm taking March of as paid holiday and then Mat will officially start on 1st of April which means Next month will be my last working month although I switched of weeks ago lol.

Blgb · 14/01/2019 14:34

@Springmummy19 it was lovely thanks! Got loads of gifts and loads of clothes think he’s got more than me now! Played some games and had a lovely couple of hours!
Least I know what I don’t need to buy now 😍

Springmummy19 · 14/01/2019 14:49

Aww bless, that cake looks lovely. Sorry I've missed most of this thread, when is your due date?

Blgb · 14/01/2019 15:02

I’m due 14th April. It was my 30th on Saturday aswell thou so seemed a good time to have a party without alcohol and combined the whole lot 😂 when are you due?

Springmummy19 · 14/01/2019 15:33

I'm due 21st April. I didn't have a baby shower, no specific reason as to why, i just didn't have one. I'll be 31 on next Saturday lol

Blgb · 14/01/2019 15:48

Get one organised! They’re a lovely way to get all the family involved (and you get good pressies) haha xx

Buttons28 · 14/01/2019 16:38

Has anyone had the fundal height measurements done yet? Just had my first one today at 26 weeks and I'm measuring small

Blgb · 14/01/2019 16:52

Is that where the midwife plots your bump size on the chart? I don’t know all the fancy names lol

Buttons28 · 14/01/2019 17:04

@Blgb yes it is

Hopeislost · 14/01/2019 17:55

@Buttons28 How small were you measuring? It's not an exact science as they're measuring from the outside. Mine was big but within the normal range.

Blgb · 14/01/2019 18:15

Yeah i had my first at 25 weeks and was bigger than the top line. She said not to think I was having a 12lb baby thou as the first measurement wasn't really a good guidance and would know better after they've got a couple

Buttons28 · 14/01/2019 18:19

@Hopeislost I'm measuring 24 at 26 weeks so not loads out but below the bottom line on the chart. I have a scan tomorrow where they will check the size. In terms of movement I can't say baby has any consistent patterns of movement yet and my placenta is at the front so that will also cushion some movements. It's hard not to worry when it's your first and you don't know what's 'normal'

Unicorn234 · 14/01/2019 21:12

I got measured on Thursday at 26+2 and I was measuring 27 weeks but she said it's normal for ladies to measure abit over and it's nothing to worry about 😊

TooSkoolForKool · 14/01/2019 21:30

I got told last week at 25 weeks that she wouldn't be measuring until my 28 week appointment 😐 is it strange I can't wait to start plotting the growth on the chart, it's like shit is really getting real lol

Helga55 · 14/01/2019 21:44

Measuring 30 weeks at 26 Confused another checkup and measure next week, then if still measuring big, then a scan for exact size...
