Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

Happy New Year ladies! @Chivari that's such a lovely thought!

Sorry you're having such a hard time in work. Mine is definitely getting more stressful. Annoyingly, they've just agreed a few changes that I've pushed for for over a year. It's great, but a huge amount of work to set things up before I go on mat leave. To the point that I'm thinking of stopping later...

@Blgb that sounds so sore! I hope the consultant can help.

I get it occasionally @TooSkoolForKool, but never that bad. Worth checking it out.

Unicorn234 · 01/01/2019 17:57

How crazy is it that we can say.. 'I'm having a baby this year' awww so exciting! I can't wait!
Was working my maternity leave out earlier, I work in a very busy toddler room so I already struggle with my back so I'm going off on maternity leave just before 36 weeks! 10 weeks and counting lol xx

beaa2712 · 01/01/2019 21:32

@Unicorn234 I know it's so exciting isn't it! Mad to think our little ones will be here so soon now! I'm with you I work in a busy baby room and am feeling my back go where I'm constantly up and down off a hard floor lifting babies all day long. Not good. I'm planning on leaving about 5 weeks before due date as struggling now! Not long now!

Unicorn234 · 01/01/2019 21:38

@beaa2712 yeah I'm going 5 weeks before too 😊 honestly can't wait lol.
Don't envy you being in the baby room, I only have to bend over sweeping and my backs in bits! I find it so hard tidying up with the constant bending over and getting up off the floor is a work out in itself lol xx

ChaosMoon · 02/01/2019 14:00

All of you dealing with babies right now are heros. I got stuck on the floor the other day and had to wait for DH to get out of the shower to pick me up. There's no way I could pick up another human too!

I'm thinking of stopping at 37 weeks and using holiday to do the short weeks before hand. I keep changing my mind though!

Springmummy19 · 02/01/2019 15:53

@Unicorn234 Someone said it to me at work today 'your baby is due THIS year' and it actually made me freeze. I have 15 weeks to go..eeekkk

Unicorn234 · 02/01/2019 16:55

@Springmummy19 haha I know crazy isn't it! I'm so excited but when I really think about it, it's quite terrifying lol.
Just patiently waiting for my partner to get back and hopefully the nursery furniture will have arrived. So looking forward to putting his things away 💙💙

beaa2712 · 02/01/2019 17:54

@ChaosMoon it isn't good working with babies. I'm dreading them coming back tomorrow it's gonna be a struggle from now on until she's born!

Anyone else feel totally low in the way they look. I'm really really struggling. I've always had self esteem issues with the way I look but I feel even worse at the moment. Everywhere I look I feel I see beautiful pregnant women who look so slim and perfect whereas I feel like a total blob:( doesn't help my friend being 34 weeks gone and having no fat on her at all. She looks like she just has a football up her top she looks so good. I need help being happier being pregnant:( i want to enjoy it so desperately but I just feel like I can't when I'm so low. Sorry for the negative post

Unicorn234 · 02/01/2019 18:05

@beaa2712 I know where your coming from. I was already overweight before I got pregnant and now I just feel like I'm getting bigger every day. This is the one part of pregnancy I hate... having absolutely no control over your body 😫

beaa2712 · 02/01/2019 18:08

@Unicorn234 I know everyone is different and everyone has a different shape but it's so hard to do isn't it when people around you look so blooming!!

Unicorn234 · 02/01/2019 20:56

@beaa2712 oh yeah definitely! And then you have girls around you who are like size 10 complaining there fat.. just feel like punching them in the face 👊 lol

Hopeislost · 02/01/2019 21:16

@beaa2712 Yes I understand! My pregnancy yoga class is full of these tiny women with cute neat little bumps and I just feel like a whale. Plus I've started getting angry red stretch marks on my belly despite using ALL the products :-(

beaa2712 · 02/01/2019 21:27

@Unicorn234 yeap that's my friend so frustrating haha makes me mad!!

beaa2712 · 02/01/2019 21:28

@Hopeislost I've just found some nasty looking ones under my boobs but because they are shagging so much with all the weight I didn't notice them til now and I've been using all the products too😢 how do you find yoga? I was thinking of starting

Hopeislost · 02/01/2019 21:54

@beaa2712 I've found pregnancy yoga really useful. It chills me out and has helped with my back pain too!

beaa2712 · 02/01/2019 22:06

@Hopeislost oh I might have to look into it then as I'm really struggling with back pain and constant pain in my ribs it's horrible!!

Springmummy19 · 03/01/2019 08:55

@Unicorn234 Aww bless, we haven't started any baby shopping yet. I wanted to wait until after Xmas so planning on starting this week. I've made all my lists just need to actually get the things

Unicorn234 · 03/01/2019 09:03

@Springmummy19 we've been really lucky and had all the big things bought for us by family so it's been lovely 😊

Springmummy19 · 03/01/2019 09:09

@Unicorn234 Lucky indeed. We've had a few people tell us that they want to get us certain things which is a lovely gesture although I'm very particular about what I want and I feel bad for asking them to get a certain bouncer or baby monitor Blush

Hopeislost · 03/01/2019 20:40

We haven't bought anything for baby, although 3 of my relatives gave us Christmas presents for the baby! And DM and DMIL have bought so many baby clothes I don't know how it will wear them all!

PeanutButterJellyTime2 · 04/01/2019 17:19

It's been really nice to read through all your posts, I'm more of a reader than a poster! I last posted saying I was feeling overwhelmed and I think I still am really. I feel so strange about the whole thing.

We got our pram today - don't know if anyone else is doing this but we got an almost brand new bugaboo very cheaply with a host of other things second hand via Facebook market place. Lots of my friends have told me to look on eBay/gumtree/Facebook for prams as they are so costly. We got around £1200 worth of kit today for £300. Might be worth a look!

ChaosMoon · 05/01/2019 10:14

That's a really good shout @PeanutButterJellyTime2.

We've got a Chico next to me and a car seat, although I think that might be going back. We were going to do some shopping this weekend, but a wonderful friend has offered us the pick of all her old baby stuff, so we should really wait to see what she's got. I think we might hit boots and start with stuff for my but if the hospital bag.

Booked my Mat leave yesterday and realised that, with holiday, I finish in 10 weeks! Scary moment. I thought everyone saying it was that soon must be finishing really early, but no. We're just having our babies really soon guys!!!

Unicorn234 · 05/01/2019 12:41

@ChaosMoon I've got exactly the same amount of time left at work as you! Countdown is on haha x

LittleTopic · 11/01/2019 08:01

How is everyone doing?

I really need talking off my hormonal ledge! Currently hate my job and still have 10 weeks to go. I am sure I’m reacting badly to very minor things - I’ve definitely been feeling the hormones in the last few weeks! But I am so done and am struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Other than that baby is fine and kicking away Grin

ChaosMoon · 11/01/2019 09:42

You can do this @LittleTopic!
At the beginning of this week I told a friend that I was still fully engaged with work and everything was fine. This morning I'm feeling exactly how you are. I'm putting it down to pay hormones and part exhaustion. I just don't feel like I have enough to give a full week at work!

Is there any way you can work from home or take the occasional day's leave to break it up?
