Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

@chaosmoon scan went well. Baby had all it's parts and was measuring just right. Well behaved as well. It was so cute playing with its fingers too.

I've an anterior placenta, which I assumed I had. Explains why I've not felt much

ChaosMoon · 01/12/2018 11:25

It's a shame you're not feeling much but it must be reassuring to know that's definitely why.

Why are hands and feet syrup cute?! 😍

ChaosMoon · 01/12/2018 11:26

Damnit autocorrect. So cute, not syrup cute!

MigMog · 01/12/2018 11:34

@chaosmoon oh I know. It was super cute.

Yeah I've just started feeling it this week and it's all low down. Least it will cushion the big kicks for a bit longer!

donna474 · 05/12/2018 11:08

@MigMog I've got an anterior placenta too and only just started feeling little swooshing movements and the occasional thud. Hoping for more over the next few weeks

I'm more of a lurker on this thread (but have enjoyed reading!) but am feeling a bit overwhelmed about what I will need, what I don't, how much of things to buy! This is my first baby.
I bought some sleep suits and plain white vests to go under things yesterday but left the shop feeling a bit flustered. I'm just so unsure about what I should be doing.

Clare4567 · 10/12/2018 13:52

Hi @PeanutButterJellyTime2 I felt the same. Found this list in a book, can post the name of the book later as it's at home... hope it helps.

@PeanutButterJellyTime2 oh bless you, this is my first pregnancy too and I think when it gets nearer to him being here I will be more overwhelmed. I'm sure it's probably just your hormones and it will all come naturally to you when the baby is here xx

ChaosMoon · 11/12/2018 21:19

@PeanutButterJellyTime2 I will definitely put my hands up to feeling overwhelmed about everything I need to get! I've managed to get a car seat and a next to me crib so far. That's it!

So I'm now 23+2, and I realised that babies born at this gestation can survive. Not that I want my baby to come anything like this early, but that was definitely an exciting/this is real kind of moment.

PeanutButterJellyTime2 · 12/12/2018 14:37

Thanks all - I think my tiny brain can't cope with all the body/work/life/fitness changes as well as my partner looking for a new job and a baby coming too. Phew! It's a lot to take in. Generally I am fine and then suddenly I think OH MY GOODNESS WHAT AM I DOING

@Clare4567 thank you for posting that. The name of the book would be really helpful.

Clare4567 · 12/12/2018 23:02

@PeanutButterJellyTime2 No worries, it's First-Time Parent by Lucy Atkins...

Clare4567 · 12/12/2018 23:03

Did lots of walking yesterday. Ended up with achy hips and I noticed a puffy pubic area. Anyone else had this yet?

Pregnancy is just so glam

51Sunflower · 17/12/2018 03:54

Hi Folks, not posted in a while as been feeling really rough with the gestational diabetes. Now on insulin and feeling so much better. Had our 20 week scan on Friday and found out that we are having a little boy and that all is well so far. So thrilled but struggling with names!

Unicorn234 · 17/12/2018 16:19

@51sunflower sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes, glad your feeling better 😊 how did you know there was something wrong? Or was you just sent for a test? Congrats on baby boy 😊 I'm having a boy too!

How's everyone else feeling? Got another day off today as got a tummy bug. Honestly never been so ill since falling pregnant, anyone else feel like there catching everything?

51Sunflower · 17/12/2018 18:26

@Unicorn234 I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. Although that was 25 years ago!!! So they tested me very early. Feels my great now and really beginning to feel him moving around Smile

Unicorn234 · 17/12/2018 19:28

@51sunflower glad your feeling better with it 😊 I'm a bit worried I may get it as I haven't eaten the best and my bmi has always been high since finding out I was pregnant, but we will see.
Aww yeah it's lovely feeling them move around isn't it, my baby's kicks are getting alot stronger now x

MigMog · 17/12/2018 21:00

Not too bad. Having a tired week.

Realised tonight I can't bend properly now (everything feels squished inside).

I've been getting a shooting pain at the top of bump today. Hoping itsjust some growing stretching pains.

Baby has been pretty active recently too. The otherhalf felt it for the first time a few days ago too.

Unicorn234 · 18/12/2018 05:40

@MigMog oh bless you. I'm also struggling with the bending down situation! I work in a nursery so when it comes to tidying up, that's fun! Lol
Awww that's so cute, my boyfriend thought he felt something last night too but I'm not sure. Baby's kicks are definitely getting stronger so it won't be too much longer now. I can't wait to see my tummy move! Find myself sitting there and just staring at my tummy 🤣

ChaosMoon · 20/12/2018 10:11

Bending is a bloody nightmare! It's the squished insides problem or my back gives out. Time to up the yoga again...

DH can feel the kicks most days. Which was great until he got drunk and started poking back at 1 in the morning, because he was "trying to teach it to count". 🤦 Who needs sleep anyway?

@MigMog I've found yoga a huge help for the bump pains. Might be worth a try if you're not doing it already?

beaa2712 · 23/12/2018 04:37

Hi guys haven't posted in a while. Starting to grow a lovely bump now and feeling her move around quite a bit although not enough for my partner to feel yet.

Really random question but I have a horrible feeling I ate a sandwich today with homemade mayo in and now I have the worst stomach cramps which have woken me hence the post!! and going to the toilet. Does anyone know if this can happen if you eat this and whether it's dangerous to baby?:/ bit paranoid now.

Unicorn234 · 23/12/2018 09:44

@beaa2712 oooh I'm not sure about the mayo thing hun, have you still got the pains or have you been to the toilet? You may have some food poisoning or something.
Last Sunday I woke up at 4am with the worst pain in my tummy ever, I was literally nearly crying because I thought I was going into labour lol, just turns out I had the poops all day. Honestly I've picked up everything since being pregnant xx

ChaosMoon · 23/12/2018 10:44

Oh no, @beaa2712 that's horrible! In theory, if they've used British lion marked eggs, there's nothing about mayo that should cause a problem. Could be a bug, or some sort of contamination from elsewhere. Have you called your midwife?

charlie2712 · 23/12/2018 12:08

@ChaosMoon I feel okay now and eaten some toast so not sure what it was. Have no pain now either so fingers crossed everything is okay! Been to mothercare this morning as have a big sale on a bought quite a few bits for our little girl!! 💓

beaa2712 · 23/12/2018 12:11

@Unicorn234 yeah I've been to the toilet and feel a lot better was in a lot of pain though! I feel you I work in a nursery and think I caught everything going after having my flu jab but fingers crossed I've passed it now and all is going well! Hope you get better soon x
