@Sushirolls Yes sounds like i have similar dates to your daughter. My scan is 24th April and due 11th September. I'm convinced I'm having a boy too. At the moment I'm fine with not knowing however I imagine that by sept I'll be desperate to know. It's also really annoying that the shops mainly stock pink and blue baby gros etc. I was planning on buying other colours suited to both so I ended up with white/natural type colours today. I saw a really cute 8 piece set in green in boots so might get that next month.

CJ1990 · 28/03/2018 07:05

@DG87 pretty much no symptoms at all! Although I’ve been lucky I feel it has caused me worrying not feeling anything. I’m just a bit tired!
I know how you feel about not getting excited, as I’m also really worried about something going wrong. We just need to remember it’s down to like 1% after the 12 week scan, and it does get easier :) I feel better after hearing the heartbeat at 16 weeks. I’m telling myself once I hit 20 weeks then that’s it! No more worry as I’m half way! But will see! Haha x

DG87 · 28/03/2018 07:35

@CJ1990 I'm the same, I'm lucky to most that I've had no symptoms but to me I feel it would comfort me more if I did have crazy pregnancy symptoms! We've got until the 16th May to wait till our 20 week scan, but have a private 16week scan booked in before then in 4 weeks but even that feels like ages away! I want a little scan room at home so I can just keep checking in with baby, make sure everything is going ok in there. I want enjoy the pregnancy but it feel like I'm just wishing it away until the next scan each time. But your right, after 12 weeks the chances of something going wrong drop so gotta just let Mother Nature do it's thing and chill The &£@* out 😂

Hi all, work has been a bit hectic so haven’t been on much. Had 16 week appointment yesterday plus the first parenting class (new scheme in my trust that links the medical appointments and parenting classes. Was a bit disappointed that they didn’t listen to heartbeat, seems they don’t do it until 25 week check up in my trust Sad.

Also, there still seems to be a general confusion around my care. Initially they had me down as consultant led, but at booking in appointment they didn’t actually know why they did that, so after meeting with consultant they all happily signed me off as midwife led care. Yesterday midwife said my notes indicated I needed a referral to consultant due to concerns over whether I can have an anaesthetic and due to fact I had an abnormal smear and colposcopy about 8 years ago. I have had a general anaesthetic before and had no issues with it (which was discussed at my previous appointments) and all my smears since abnormal one have been fine and an up to date with them.

So midwife yesterday said she doesn’t think I need consultant but she’ll refer my anyway just in case

snowy1982 · 28/03/2018 08:52

@CJ1990, I am not feeling any worse at 16 weeks but am definitely not feeling any better, fatigue is still a real problem for me at the minute and sickness is still lurking.

@itallhappensforareason, I think the glow is a myth as well.

@DG87, I haven’t started buying yet but I have started researching the bigger items, my and DH are going window shopping for them over Easter to try and narrow down our preferences and get an idea of how much money we need for them as well.

As for the smaller items like bibs etc, I am waiting until I hit 30 weeks I think, I know my mum has started gathering wee bits for me (and my aunty will be knitting me one of her wonderful baby blankets and cardigans) but I don’t want to get anything myself until much later

PinkyPromise77 · 28/03/2018 11:37

I have been having masses of issues at work dealing with HR crisis left right and center so apologies for being a bit quiet too!

I have not bought anything either... I think we will wait until we know if it's a boy or girl, which we will find out next week!!!

I'm feeling really tired still and slightly nauseous at times but no crazy awful sickness like last Sunday which was just awful...

I am also slightly apprehensive about getting too excited and probably not having any bump at all doesn't help with feeling this is not real :)

Impatiently waiting for first flutters... nothing yet.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal @snowy... what a pain! Hope they will get that sorted and you get the right care x

The midwife appt mess up continues. Just tried ringing my midwife and got out through to someone of another name. Left a message and basically told them what has been going on. It's really irritating that I keep hitting walls.

I'm really looking forward to 3pm tomorrow. I really need the Easter hols. Only 6 lessons to go but one is an observation and I'm struggling to stay awake but never mind I'll survive.

CJ1990 · 28/03/2018 13:21

@PinkyPromise77 how far gone are you now? Waiting for the flutters is making me feel very impatient too! But not going to get worried until 18 weeks. Even that’s early but I might ring the midwife at that point to put my mind at ease :)

@niclw sorry your still having a nightmare with that. Have you found out if they listen to the heart beat in your area at 16 weeks? As if not to be honest there isn’t too much to miss so try not to worry too much. All mine did apart from the heartbeat was go through my bloods from the last meeting and take my bp. Was in and out within about 10 mins and even that was with the midwife letting a trainee try to find the heart beat which took a good few minutes..guess that’s why some areas don’t do it. And why they advise against a Doppler - did seem hard to find and only got a few seconds before they lost it again. I hope they sort their act out soon x

CJ1990 · 28/03/2018 13:22

I mean I hope they sort the appointment out for you soon

SeattleKate · 28/03/2018 13:29

@itallhappensforareason I’ve just been bloated and uncomfortable generally but I think it’s been worse in the evenings because I’ve waited for DH to get home for dinner (he finishes work late) so I’ve let myself get too hungry and then eaten a full size meal. I switched to eating 6 half sized meals (like really half sized, small portions!) plus a snack every hour or so (kid sized snacks have been good) and that’s made an enormous difference in my bloating and nausea. It’s hard not to eat a proper sized meal though!

niclw · 28/03/2018 15:30

@CJ1990 Im not sure what they do in my area at 16 weeks. I received a msg back and was told to text my midwife as she is working tomorrow but not today. But if she doesn't get back to to me that I can book at appt at the hospital with a community midwife next week. Fingers crossed I'll have an appt soon as I need to ask something.

I keep waiting to feel flutterings too. It won't be long but I've read that it can take up to 22 weeks with first baby. I'm not going to worry about it as King as everything is alright at the scan.

Cb90 · 28/03/2018 16:17

Same due date as me @Gracey88! I have been lucky with sickness. It seems to have eased now Smile

Cb90 · 28/03/2018 16:19

Sorry this has probably Been asked before.. who do I need to PM to get added to the Facebook group? ThanksSmile

PinkyPromise77 · 28/03/2018 16:19

I'm 15+5 today @CJ1990... I guess I'm just a little impatiend but I know it could be another 4-5 weeks before I feel anything :)

@niclw I hope it's all sorted for you. I'm not even sure when is my next midwife appointment lol! she has not been very helpful :)

Me, @Cb90

niclw · 28/03/2018 21:38

I've got my appt sorted!

snowy1982 · 29/03/2018 05:43

That’s great @niclw

missamy94 · 29/03/2018 18:23

I'm 15+4 and I'm suffering really bad with headaches and lower backache! I've constantly got a hot water bottle on my back and I'm taking paracetamol every 4 hours. I'm seeing midwife on Thursday so I'm trying to wait till then to ask her as I don't want to bother her but is there anything anyone can suggest I can do to ease the pains please?

Ktn35 · 29/03/2018 18:33

4head is great for headaches and I find a massage can help back pain for a few hours? X

Sushirolls · 30/03/2018 03:15

Yay for getting your appt @niclw 🎉 They have some lovely neutral baby clothes in Asda Smile my daughter and I were looking this evening x These pics are why I think I may have a grandson on the way Wink I'll be keeping my eyes peeled at her 20 week scan 🤓 Are you going to hold out until September? My daughter is due on the 8th x

Hope things are calmer at work, @snowy1982 & that you've managed to get your care sorted x

I hope work has calmed down for you too, @Pinkypromise77 & that you're feeling less tired x

@missamy94 do you think it could be a water infection? That can give you backache, not sure if it can cause headaches too? Hope you feel better soon x

My daughter has been getting dizziness since yesterday evening. She decided to cook herself something last night & then came over dizzy, so had to turn the oven off & go lay down 😟 it was the middle of the night (!!) but she text me, so I got up & finished her cooking so that she could eat something. She keeps getting hungry in the middle of the night 😂 She came over a bit funny in town earlier today, too 😟 She's had two instances of feeling "pressure" in her tummy. It's not sore, but one side this morning & the other this evening... I'm wondering if she's feeling little one 💕 it doesn't last long apparently. Her tummy seems to have really popped all of a sudden 😍 she will be 17 weeks on Saturday xo

Wishing you all a lovely Easter Flowers xo

@sushirolls, things haven’t calmed down yet, my office is closed today for Easter but am still going in to hopefully make some headway while no one else is around.

Don’t know about the pressure feeling, but I am also getting very lightheaded and dizzy at times, mostly in the mornings. Maybe get your daughter to keep some snacks by her bed so when she’s hungry at night she doesn’t get up to cook

CJ1990 · 30/03/2018 06:51

@Sushirolls I’m due same date as your daughter :)

Woke up this morning with cramps in my stomach. Wondering if it’s my uterus growing? Or if anyone else had this?

17 weeks tomorrow and still holding out for the first flutters! Trying not to worry but it’s gerting the better of me since yesterday x

CJ1990 · 30/03/2018 08:42

17 weeks tomorrow and a bit down I’ve not felt baby yet :( I know it’s early and I’m being silly, but I really thought I’d feel something by now! Not even got gas or anything I could mistake for movement. It’s so quiet in there!

niclw · 30/03/2018 09:00

@CJ1990 I'm still getting cramping on and off. I'm just assuming it's things moving/stretching too. Sometimes it feels like a pin prick and I wonder if it's something but I don't think it is.

I'm so relieved that it's the Easter hols. I've been so exhausted recently. Had a lovely lie in this morning.
