@niclw, any joy with the appointment yet?

Hi all - joining in with this thread! I'm 16+4, baby due 6th September. Eagerly awaiting the first 'flutters' at the moment.

Hi @snowy1982 No luck as yet. I phoned the doctors surgery again and they are having problems finding out when she will be in. I'm not impressed but they did say to ring back in a few days. If I can't make one by then, there will be a complaint on its way.

Hi @itallhappensforareason ,
Me too! I’m 16+2 and although I no it’s early, I’m becoming very impatient! Ha. Hopefully not too long :) I’m hoping by week 18

@niclw just keep at them :) but try not to worry too much. They didn’t do much at the 16 week appointment with me apart from go through my bloods from the booking in appointment and check my urine. They did check the heart beat but it was literally for about three seconds and they lost it! So if your a little late you’ll be ok :) although I can understand how frustrating it is when your waiting for these appointments!

Hello everyone, I've just found this thread so hope im not too late to join. I'm 13w+3d wit first baby! We had our scan last week and couldn't believe I was seeing my baby ❤️

Am desperate to find out what we are having! Been trying to see the "nub" on my scans but to be honest I have no idea what I'm looking for!!! 😂

Just popping in, to see how everyone is doing Flowers Hope you're all well xo

Welcome & congratulations 🎉 to all new comers xo

@niclw we are having similar sort of issues with my daughter. She was 16 weeks on Saturday, and we hadn't booked with the mw as she had an appt with a consultant last Friday. The consultant only went through her medical history though & scanned baby, so I called our drs today to ask if she should still see the mw as she's had no checks on herself, since her booking in appt. The only appt they could give is for when my daughter is 19 weeks 🙈 so I was told to contact her mw directly incase they could see her sooner elsewhere, but they never answer the phone 😩 Hope you manage to track yours down soon x

Anyone starting to feel worse at 16 weeks? :( I’ve been feeling ok up until the past few days. I was worried I had food poisoning but I’ve not been sick and don’t particularly have a bad gut..I just feel off, nauseous and exhausted :( feel like it’s come from no where! Just don’t feel right at all :(

I'm 13 +3 too and feel terrible still. Finally had some time off work this week as I'm finding the weekends terrible. I think I'm overdoing it during the week and then really suffering at the weekends. Dr signed me off until Thursday but I'm hoping I can be back in tomorrow as only two days left of term. Let's hope you e just got some good poisoning and it's not pregnancy related ... these things can linger for a few days xxxxxx

@CJ1990 maybe you have picked up a bug of sorts with your immune system being weaker and the moment and it's taking it out of you. I'm 16+5 today and have been suffering with a cold for the last few days and it really has wiped me out - partially because I've been finding it really difficult to sleep so I've been knackered. Keep drinking plenty of fluids and get lots of good stuff into your body and hopefully you will feel better soon.

Not only am I eagerly awaiting the first flutters of baby but I'm also awaiting this mysterious pregnancy 'glow''. Does it happen or is it a myth?!

Thanks @ktn35 :)
@itallhappensforareason I definately think it’s a myth!! :) amongst the worry and tiredness etc I’m wondering how anyone glows..haha.
I’m desperately waiting for first flutters! Very jealous of people that feel them at 16 weeks! :) was told 18-20 was average so hoping it’s not long. I thought as I am petite I maybe feel them sooner - but no luck! X

Hi everyone, just wondered if you've started buying bits yet and if so, where did you start??

Report
CJ1990 · 27/03/2018 21:03

Hi @DG87 I haven’t just yet. We’re waiting until 20 weeks..not too sure why. Just want to get the final scan out of the way I think. but I am overly cautious! X

Haven't bought anything yet. It may sound silly but I feel if we buy anything it may be tempting fate.. I think I will feel more comfortable waiting until after the 20 week scan to start buying bits and will also find it easier knowing what sex we are buying for! Guess there's no right or wrong way to start, everything needs buying at some point before baby's arrival so may as well do it in whatever order you fancy 😂

Does anyone else feel really bloated in the evenings? I've struggled in the evenings throughout the pregnancy so far in that most of my sickness was during the evenings and I struggled to eat dinner. My appetite is slowly coming back but I just feel so bloated and uncomfortable. Not sure if I'm eating too much during the day (not that I'm eating masses - just usual meals and few snacks) - or maybe I need to eat more snacks and less actual meals?

DH bought a Christmas jumper in the sale the week we found out as he was too excited. Apart from that we haven't got anything yet, we will probably start once we have the gender scan on 7th April, we are having a private one when I will be 16+4. Very excited for that as I think it will all start feeling more real then as well.

We haven't either, I think I'll follow your k as and hold out till our next scan. We hit a bump in the road last year getting pregnant so defo feel cautious. But my mum is desperate to go out shopping lol! When do you start feeling like this is really happening? I am so excited but I stop myself as I'm so scared something will go wrong! Positive vibes as much as possible but the heartache of things not working out is too much not to have it in the back of your mind! What are/were everyone else's symptoms at 13weeks? I feel like I've nothing but sore boobies!

My daughter is 16+2 and she has a few bits & bobs Smile Some sleep suits, muslins, I have just bought the cot she wanted as it was in the sale, which will be delivered at the end of next week. She's going to look at a travel system on Thurs as she's buying it second hand, so £30 instead of ££££££ I've also bought her a couple of little bits like a "born in 2018" babygro, a cute like t-shirt & some cute newborn "hats" & scratch mitts, a photo frame she likes (you take a photo each month up to first bday) & a clay hand print set thing. I can't help myself 🙈😂 I'll be buying her the chicco next to me crib at some point too xo

Forgot to say, although she hadn't had her anomaly scan yet, she had a 16 week one on Friday with a fetal medicine consultant, who said she saw no evidence of any disabilities (my daughter has hydrocephalus, so she was particularly looking for that and spina bifida). I am presuming that if they were going to find any problems next month, there would have been some evidence at this scan or the consultant wouldn't have said anything?! X

I was feeling the same about waiting till my 20 week scan although I'm not finding out the gender unless it's very obvious. However I decided to buy a couple of small things today - a set of 3 baby gros and bibs. I need to spread out the cost as much as possible as I'm doing it on my own. I'm waiting till after the scan to buy anything else though - 4 weeks today.

I think you may be roughly the same weeks as my daughter @niclw ? My daughter has her 20 week scan 4 weeks yesterday (23rd) x My daughter & her bf don't have a lot of money, hence I'm chilling in, but I'm happy to help anyway x They will find out the gender, but I'm convinced I have a little grandson in there! I may be wrong 🙈 but I'm sure it's boy bits in the 16 week scan x
