I'm 36w on Thursday and the realisation that I do actually have to give birth to this baby is well and truly sinking in 😲 not sure I am mentally prepared at all!!!

BlueBug45 · 07/08/2018 18:10

5 weeks to go before I get induced if I don't go into labour by then. No more dancing and kicking stomach.

sososotired · 07/08/2018 18:57

@BlueBug45 if you don't mind me asking why are you being induced I'm desperate to be induced but they won't allow me unless I'm overdue Hmm

ichifanny · 09/08/2018 10:45

Hello how are you all getting on ? Got my c section date for 37 plus 4 on he 6th of September instead of due date 23/9 and it all feels so real now . Getting baby stuff ready and paid off pram and nesting like crazy .

snowy1982 · 09/08/2018 10:55

@ichifanny, I am really starting to struggle with work at the minute. Am 36w tomorrow and am supposed to have another 2 weeks in work, but I am exhausted, just walking to and from the train station (normally a 5ish min walk) to office is giving me awful back ache, I am stressing over how much work I have to do which is leading to a little hormone overload in the office and am struggling to sleep at night as I am running over to do lists in my head.

Apart from that I’m grand Wink. Pram and furniture were delivered on Monday so pram is set up and have been practising putting it down etc (yes I am that much of a stresshead) and will be starting training the dogs to ignore the pram over the weekend. Oh and we had to go and get a new car this week, not so good on the bank balance but it’s a much nicer car so that makes up for it

ichifanny · 09/08/2018 13:21

Can you go get signed off by your GP @snowy1982 honestly it’s not worth struggling on and ending up exhausted , I’m signed off just now and mat leave starts 26th August .

snowy1982 · 09/08/2018 13:27

I’m my own boss (after a fashion, it’s a complicated arrangement) so getting signed off isn’t an option, I have work that needs to be donw before I finish and no one else is able to do it. Can’t let my clients down or they wouldn’t be here when I get back, so I just have to suck it up and power on through Sad

snowy1982 · 09/08/2018 13:28

If I somehow manage to finish things up earlier I can take off earlier

itallhappensforareason · 09/08/2018 15:39

Look after yourself @snowy. Hats off to you - this is my second week off now and I'm absolutely shattered.

Off for our final growth scan in 20 mins 😀🤞

niclw · 09/08/2018 16:41

Just got back from growth scan. Baby is just under 90th centile according to sonographers measurements (the one I complained about after 20 week scan attempt 2). I read earlier that estimated weights etc from growth scans can be up to 15% inaccurate so I'm taking it with a pinch of salt, particularly as people keep mentioning that I've got a tidy little bump.

snowy1982 · 09/08/2018 19:05

@niclw, did they comment at all on the size? Does it affect birth plan or anything at all? If their not bothered I definitely wouldn’t be either

@itallhappens, I am on a mission now to power on through the work, despite having barely slept all week I have turned a lot of stuff over so am feeling pretty proud of myself Smile

niclw · 09/08/2018 19:27

@snowy1982 Baby is currently estimated to be 6lb 4 at 35+2 and was told that as he/she is below 90th I just carry on as planned which is good as I didn't want to be forced into delivery suite. The midwife led unit is right next door and is very much like a spa. Seems very relaxing so I'm determined to be in there unless something happens which put baby at risk.

snowy1982 · 09/08/2018 19:29

@niclw, that’s good then Smile am really hoping to get into MLU as well

niclw · 09/08/2018 20:42

@snowy1982 When do you find out that you can use the MLU?

snowy1982 · 09/08/2018 20:48

Unfortunately in my hospital they don’t tell for definite until you are get assessed going in. I have asked and all they have said is they have a lot of criteria to be met, that they can give you an indication before hand. I have appointment with them next week so am going to ask were I stand at the minute, after that I see the community MW at 38 weeks but I doubt they’ll tell me much as they aren’t linked to hospital. I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere or if it is trust dependant

BlueBug45 · 09/08/2018 22:55

@sososotired because I'm old.

If you are 40+ in my area they don't advise you to go over 40 weeks. There is a study that showed in older mothers going over 40 weeks increases the risks of having a still birth.

sososotired · 10/08/2018 07:33

@BlueBug45 I see, thank you for answering me!

Our thread is running out of space so I’ve started a new (and final) one, all our September babies will be born before the new one gets to full capacity Smile

itallhappensforareason · 10/08/2018 08:33

Thanks @snowy ☺️
