Anyone else due in November? Only 5 weeks along with first, super nervous, super excited! Rung GP but they just seem to have left me to it? Is this normal? They just asked my last period and they’d send a letter out... what happens now? What symptoms is everyone feeling at this stage? Any advice?

Hi and congratulations! I'm in a similar situation, about six weeks with my first and a similar mix of terrified and over the moon! I went to the GP just under a week ago but they just said the same - they seemed to think I'd get the letter quite soon but no sign as yet. It's really weird being in this limbo situation - doesn't quite feel real yet as nothing is happening. Not really any symptoms for me as yet - occasional very slight cramps but that's about it! How about you?

MissKx · 17/03/2018 19:51

Heyyy! Congratulations to you too! I know it’s super strange, I keep forgetting then realising and I’m like omggg! It feels too soon to get excited but too far away for anything to happen yet. Same with the symptoms I just don’t feel quite with it like it’s hard to explain, just got super sore and heavy boobs and slight pulling and uncomfortableness every so often, feel like I’m waiting for something but not quite sure what Smile

I think I know what you mean, just vague strange twinges and boobs are definitely more sensitive than usual. I'm trying to tell myself to enjoy this time when only my husband and I know - I'm sure I'll miss this time layer when I'm constantly getting poked and prodded by medical professionals! But it's very frustrating not being able to tell people at the same time, or really being able to start planning properly.

MissKx · 17/03/2018 20:11

Oh yeah I’m totally not looking forward to that at all! Just can’t wait for some reassurance that everything’s okay so I can relax, at the min I’m literally jumping at every little cramp or any other sensation! It’s definitely a strange journey even from early on!

I know, it's so difficult when you have no idea what's normal! Did the doc tell you about folic acid? He recommended I take Pregnacare as that has vitamin d and iron as well. Only other thing he said was to think about where I wanted to have the birth - they gave me a leaflet for a maternity unit and a copy of "Emma's diary" (think that's what it was called)! Have you had any leaflets or anything?

MissKx · 17/03/2018 20:50

Nah had nothing at all, literally took the test Tuesday, rung them Wednesday and gave them the details over the phone and they said they’d pass on my details to a midwife and nothing since! Yeah I read about folic acid and take the boots alternative (just pregnancy support tablets) and I’ve signed up to Emma’s diary myself to collect the info and freebies, literally have done everything myself, only spoke to the receptionist for seconds! Hope I’m doing everything as I should be

I think so, I'm not doing anything other than that. I thought they'd want to do another pregnancy test when I went in to be extra sure, but the doc just said the over the counter tests are exactly the same as what they use, so there's no point - if it's positive it's positive! He said it's just a waiting game at this point.

I'm mainly just frantically researching! Going back to work/not going back/part-time, breastfeeding/expressing/formula, co-sleeping or not, etc. etc. There's so much to think about and I'm so clueless! Thank goodness for mumsnet, what did people do before the internet?! It still feels weird thinking about this stuff when it's so early, but I think it's the only way I can make it real for myself or feel in control.

CalliopeMcPherson · 18/03/2018 07:46

Due in November also! Going for an early scan tomorrow as I've got a history of miscarriage but it feels different this time so fingers crossed!

I went to my doc as soon as I found out. Midwife called me a week later. Booked me in for 2 weeks time which will be 8 weeks. Then had a bit of spotting, went back to docs, doesn't think anything wrong but booked me in at EPAU just to be sure. My place have been pretty good so far and midwife has called me twice to see how I am! Gathering this isn't the norm...

MissKx · 18/03/2018 07:53

Yeah I think that’s the most difficult thing deciding what to do inbetween, figuring out work and all the other stuff, I think so many people have different opinions it’s hard to be your own person and decide what you wanna do when you’ve never done it before! I’m dead set on going back to work but who knows what I’m gonna feel like when the time comes! When’s your due date?

OP posts:
MissKx · 18/03/2018 08:00

Hey CalliopeMcPherson! Congratulations! Yeah you do seem to have a lot of support, maybe it’s different areas have different support systems who knows, feel like we’ve been kinda just left to it at this stage but maybe that’s normal till we receive anything from the midwife, have you had any other symptoms?

Morning everyone,

I found out on Tuesday that I'm pregnant with my first and I am just delighted! We're due approx 20 Nov.

The lack of control we've had since starting trying has driven me INSANE, trying but not knowing when it would actually happen! But that's cause I'm just OTT with organisation!

I am SO excited now though, although painfully aware I'm very early at 4+6 weeks.

I called my doctors on Tuesday afternoon and they've booked me in with the midwife for an admin appointment on 11 Apr.

Congratulations to all your girls too, by the way. Just fab news!

MissKx · 18/03/2018 08:16

Morning HeresMeh! And congrats!! Yeah same you’re so close to me I’m due November 19th and also found out on Tuesday! It is super early but I’m deffo excited/terrified also, I’m sure things will all fall into place when the times right

@MissKx I must be very lucky. Though don't hesitate to bug your doctor if you feel you have any issues or need advice!

I have! I had sickness and extreme exhaustion in the week before I found out I was pregnant. This seemed to disappear at 4 weeks. Then boobs became very sore. Boobs are ok now but my nipples are still quite tender. Morning sickness just kicking in properly and starting to feel a bit tired again. I'm usually very energetic but not making my usual gym sessions. Lots of saliva, very watery discharge down below, funny twinges around my ovaries (both sides). VERY sensitive to smell (someone passed a coffee under my nose the other day and I swear I could smell each coffee bean!). Wow, I have more symptoms than I thought! I'm due on 12th November (by my estimate!).

How are you feeling?

MissKx · 18/03/2018 08:50

CalliopeMcPherson Wowwww you do have a lot of symptoms, definitely feel for you right now I have literally nothing compared to what you’re feeling! I just have super sore boobs (literally put my dressing gown on just now and as it’s got stitching on the inside I winced haha) kinda strange feeling in my stomach like pulling and cramping but not painful, and extreme tiredness (been passing out at 8pm) and I just feel not quite with it! Have you all signed up to Emma’s diary online? You can download vouchers for free ‘Mum To Be’ packs with samples in and goodies, apparently you print the vouchers and take them to boots (there’s 3 packs in total) gonna give in a try tomorrow and see what that’s all about

CalliopeMcPherson · 18/03/2018 08:52

@MissKx we are all so different aren't we! Try not to worry if your symptoms come and go. I've had this a couple of times and have panicked but they've always come back a couple of days later!

I haven't but thanks so much for the heads up! Checking that out now Wink best of luck and congratulations!

HeresMeh · 18/03/2018 09:04

I'll probably regret saying this(!) but I would like some symptoms just so it feels more real! Come back to me in a few weeks mind you and I'm sure I'll be saying something much differentGrin

CalliopeMcPherson · 18/03/2018 09:11

@HeresMeh totally understand! I hate the days where I don't feel pregnant. Symptoms make it feel that little bit more real. They'll come Smile

Jennyz123 · 18/03/2018 11:05

Hi all! Great to hear from other people in the same situation - sharing definitely makes it feel more real. Congratulations everyone!

The doc told me my due date was around 5th Nov. Thing is I think I kind of dismissed it because it's a complete and utter guess on my part when my last period was. We've just started trying- or rather "let's see what happens, if it's meant to be it will be." I was REALLY not expecting anything to happen so quickly, especially as I'm in my early 30s. So I hadn't even started monitoring my cycle or anything! Feel like such a prat now - but hopefully the scans will give me a more accurate idea. Crazy to think that next Christmas could be with a little one Smile

bellanotte22 · 18/03/2018 18:48

Hi all got my BFP today - will be number 3 for us. Was about a week late and boobs have been on fire so figured a test was in order!

MissKx · 18/03/2018 19:01

Congrats bellanotte22! :) sameee with the boobs mine feel like they’re about to burst open at the min, besides that no other symptoms today, bit on the quiet side will see what tomorrow brings I guess

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 19/03/2018 08:47

Oh my gosh, boobs were a bit sensitive before but definitely getting the about to burst/on fire thing this morning! Pyjama top and no bra was torture while getting the breakfast. This is normal right?!

Emelene · 19/03/2018 08:51

Hi ladies, there's a large friendly November 2018 group on the antenatal boards if you'd like to join. Smile

IWouldBeSuperb · 19/03/2018 09:02

Can I join you guys? Due Nov 20th like Meh - first pregnancy and freaking out!

I'd convinced myself (And DH) that ttc would take months if not years - and this was our first try - so think I'm still in shock!

Jennyz123 · 19/03/2018 09:15

In exactly the same boat IWouldBeSuperb - it's great that it's happened so quickly but I feel completely unprepared, emotionally or practically! Feel like I should have spent ages researching, but was so conscious I didn't want to over-prepare for something that might never happen/take years. Hopefully the midwife will help with anything obvious I don't know ☺ congratulations!

MissKx · 19/03/2018 09:31

Good Morning everyone! And congrats to the newbies! How’s everyone feeling today? My boobs today wowww (never ever been so obsessed with them can’t stop looking at them) I’m sure they’re getting bigger by the hour Confused
