Anyone else due in November? Only 5 weeks along with first, super nervous, super excited! Rung GP but they just seem to have left me to it? Is this normal? They just asked my last period and they’d send a letter out... what happens now? What symptoms is everyone feeling at this stage? Any advice?

Ohmigosh MissKx I'm so glad it's not just me!!! I'm trying so hard to be good with what I eat because I've been putting on weight anyway and don't want to have loads of weight to lose after the baby, but I AM JUST. CONSTANTLY. STARVING! Like having lunch at one, then trying to have healthy snack in the afternoon (fruit or rice cake) but come 5 o'clock (earlier even!) I could cry/throw up I'm soooo hungry! And then we quite often end up getting takeaway/going out to eat because I can't face waiting for food to cook! Oh dear oh dear oh dear... Let's hope this stage passes soon eh!

Hi guys can I join too?

I found out on Tuesday.. really didn't expect it this much as hadn't really tried! I've worked out my due date as 27th nov.

Reading all your posts, I have to say I'm completing opposite - I seem to have no appetite! I feel so full and bloated all the time!!

Congratulations to you all x

KB07 · 23/03/2018 19:41

I just read my post back and realised how awful it reads.... anyone else finding their brain isn't functioning correctly? Earlier, I put some food in the oven, only to find 20 mins later I hadn't actually turned the oven on!!!

MissKx · 23/03/2018 20:21

I know right! It’s so bad! All I think about is food I’m like a wild animal Confused and I’m constantly red hot, I end up stripping off in the middle of the night cause I’m actually burning fml Least no sickness yet, finally got my booking in appointment in a couple of weeks was told it’s gonna be a looooong appointment (hour and a half) for bloods and everything just glad somethings finally happening I don’t feel pregnant one bit some days

Jennyz123 · 23/03/2018 20:55

Ha interesting, I keep switching between FREEZING cold and burning hot and sweaty! Fun times. Good that you got your appointment, still waiting here... might give the doc a call if I still haven't heard next week. That is one looooong appointment! The idea of it freaks me out a bit but you're right, it's reassuring that something is happening and hopefully you'll get lots of useful information. Hope it goes really well for you!

TheUbercornMum · 23/03/2018 21:01

Hi guys, just to let you know we've got a Nov babies antenatal thread also in antenatal groups if any of you aren't on it Smile

MissKx · 23/03/2018 21:04

Yeah I would deffo call them and check, I literally just got a random mobile number call me (which I never answer numbers I don’t know I get anxiety if I don’t know who it is lol) so it’s like a week and half since I contacted gp that I got a referral and she was super friendly and explained a few bits about what would happen (family history, bloods, blood pressure ect) and she said I’d get an appointment for a scan through the post also, thinking about going for an early reassurance scan though but not certain, feels like waiting another 6 weeks is literally foreverrrrr it’s around £60 but I could have it done soon as they do it from 7-11 weeks but as I’ve hardly got any symptoms I’m just super anxious to see what’s happening in there!!

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 23/03/2018 21:12

Hmm, interesting stuff... good that she seemed nice and friendly! If I haven't heard by Mon I'll give them a call. Interesting about the early scan, doesn't seem too expensive. Let us know if you decide to go for it!

beckybum85 · 23/03/2018 23:56

Hi Everyone!
Well i am 8 weeks pregnant, due the start of November! I have already gone up a bra size and my jeans also don't fit either!
So i wanted to actually see this was all real as i was told that you don't hear from the midwives until week 8 due to high risk of miscarriages. I got a voicemail for my first appointment next week! So anyway, i paid for an early scan this week and had it on Wednesday.. heard a strong healthy heartbeat and saw what the lady called a prawn! It was so emotional but worth it!!!! 😍 All my siblings have had normal pregnancies so i am hoping that everything will be fine with me.. Not been too sick but the nausea and tiredness, wow!
Sending positive wishes to all you ladies xx

Jennyz123 · 24/03/2018 18:20

Aw congratulations beckybum85, that must have been so reassuring hearing the heartbeat! Hope the pregnancy goes well.

I'm really cross today... Got a letter with an NHS post mark on it, but it came while we had some friends over so I couldn't open it! Was convinced it would have details of the midwife appointment and was thinking about it all afternoon, just dying to open it... but then our friends eventually left and it was just a card for free prescriptions. Which is great and I'm sure it will be useful - but so disappointed not to be any further forward really! Been nearly two weeks since I went to the GP. I guess I am now an official card-carrying pregnant lady which is quite cool... Just come on with the appointment already!!!

MissKx · 24/03/2018 18:55

Ohhh nooo! This is disappointing, I’d give them a ring on Monday and see what’s happening, hopefully it’s on the way! I got my first scan appointment today eeek everything seems to happening all at once now

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 24/03/2018 19:17

I know right!! So gutted! I'll def give a call on Monday if still no letter. I'm trying to comfort myself by thinking that sending the prescription card means that my details haven't got completely lost in the system... Fantastic news about the scan, is it soon?

beckybum85 · 24/03/2018 19:23

Thanks Jennyz123! It was reassuring for sure x
When i registered with the doctor they said that the midwife will not make contact until after the 8 weeks has passed so maybe they are just waiting but saying that if you give them a call, the midwives, they will probably sort you your appointment out there and then over the phone xx

MissKx · 24/03/2018 19:44

Yeah definitely if they’ve got your details for the card the booking in appointment and the scan should shortly follow, my booking in appointment is on the 11 April and first scan 9th May, can I really wait till the 9th though Confused I’m not so sure I’m super impatient especially with no symptoms this past week

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 24/03/2018 20:18

Thanks both - unfortunately I don't have a number for the midwives - I was just told to expect a letter. Hopefully it'll be on its way soon MissKx if similar to your experience. 9th May does feel absolutely forever away!!! I'm sure it's all totally fine even with no symptoms, but it's nice to have the option of paying for the earlier scan if you find you just can't wait any more!

MissKx · 24/03/2018 20:30

Yeah it still doesn’t hurt just to give them a quick ring and see what the deal is, the midwife sorted my scan out and this letter came like 4 days after I’d spoken to her so maybe all yours will just come at once hopefully, I think it’s just nice to know someone is at least there to speak to if needed but I’m sure next week everything will just fall into place for you! I’m more worried about the drinking 1 and a half pints of water an hour before the scan and holding it in all that time eeeeek

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 25/03/2018 11:10

I know, that really worries me! I had an ultrasound previously after an appendectomy, I was kept waiting for ages and it was a bit of a nightmare - but the lesson I took from it was, if you are in a lot of pain, just go to the loo! There will still be enough left and if they don't like it they shouldn't keep you waiting for ages. That's my stance and I'll be sticking to it!

Jennyz123 · 02/04/2018 11:41

How is everybody getting on? Nausea has definitely hit me this week, and tiredness... In good news my first ever C-cup bras are working out a treat, so much more comfy!!

DragonMummy1418 · 02/04/2018 13:41

Hey. I'm sick sick sick! 😔 very fed up and unhappy, off work with it. Hate being pregnant! Hope this time I stop being sick after first trimester but not counting my chickens. Hope everyone else is better than me!

MissKx · 02/04/2018 15:05

Omg we’ve literally all come down with it at same time! I projectile vomited Friday night at half 10 in the middle of fake tanning 😷 and then this morning also, literally wake up so dizzy in a morning like I’m actually drunk? Anyone any suggestions to help this 😭

OP posts:
beckybum85 · 02/04/2018 16:13

Had my booking appointment with the miwife last week. 9wk 3days today! Had some spotting over the weekend and because this is our first i went into a bit of a panic! I think i am the only one not having sickness however the tiredness is unreal and SPOTS! My back is covered lol x

Jennyz123 · 02/04/2018 16:50

Poor all of us! I haven't actually thrown up yet (touch wood touch wood touch wood) but it's been damn close several times. And just constantly feeling nauseous - yuck. The only thing that I think is getting me through at the moment is just never letting myself get hungry as that seems fatal - I go straight from the first hunger pang to frantically scanning for the nearest loo in case I need to hurl. So I've been carrying a little tub of emergency rich tea biscuits everywhere with me, including to bed - I read somewhere that it's good to eat something before getting out of bed in the morning and that seems to have helped- empty stomach is the enemy! I will be the size of a house post-pregnancy at this rate but if it stops me throwing up for months on end I don't care!

DragonMummy1418 · 02/04/2018 17:01

That's exactly it Jenny! The empty stomach is the problem but the nausea is the other problem as I don't want to eat anything.
I've lost 8lbs so far through vomiting. It's not fun!

Jennyz123 · 02/04/2018 17:22

I know what you mean- I am literally forcing biscuits into my mouth even though I feel like I'm about to throw up (sometimes gagging), but once I get them down it seems to help. But this only started a few days ago for me so I'm aware it may get still worse (oh god) and I might not be able to keep anything down! Has anyone tried seasickness bands? I've just put some on about ten mins ago and it might just be because I've been able to eat fairly recently but I actually feel pretty ok? Would LOVE it if they fixed it but don't think I should get too excited!
