Anyone else due in November? Only 5 weeks along with first, super nervous, super excited! Rung GP but they just seem to have left me to it? Is this normal? They just asked my last period and they’d send a letter out... what happens now? What symptoms is everyone feeling at this stage? Any advice?

That's a good idea MissKx - I'll make sure to ask at my 16 week appt to hear it, only 9 days to go... It's great to hear from people with the same-ish due date, absolutely none of my friends are pregnant, so it's great to hear from some friendly mummies :)

You're so right about not finding the heartbeat and getting anxious Becky, that would definitely be me. I've read all sorts of different things about when you can expect to hear the heartbeat reliably, it seems to range from 11 weeks to over 20 weeks! It must be lovely to hear your baby though. I love the thought that my baby can start to hear me now - I must look like a right weirdo walking through the streets talking to myself! You must have your 20 week scan soon, are you going to find out the sex?

Thank you and congrats Alanares! We didn't get to hear the heartbeat either. I wish the 12 week scan had gone on longer, it seems such a blur now. Can't wait to hear it beating away! So glad you're coming to the end of the sickness, mine is tailing off too - though had an explosion into the kitchen sink yesterday morning!! Eww. I've started to get a little bump too - (apart from the scan) it's the most exciting thing isn't it? I don't think I've ever loved my body this much!
Has anyone got little (or big!) bumps now?

beckybum85 · 30/05/2018 13:28

I have a little bump, 18 weeks tomorrow and have my scan in 2 weeks and will be finding out what we are having as i cannot wait haha Smile xx

Jennyz123 · 30/05/2018 23:13

Hi all and congrats everyone! I was developing a little podge from all the 'emergency biscuits' trying to stave off nausea, but it's definitely becoming an actual bump now at nearly 16 weeks! I had to go to the hospital yesterday after I fell on the way into work - they let me listen to the baby's heartbeat to reassure me it's still ok in there! It was amazing to hear it. They said they would have let me listen to it at our routine midwife appointment next week anyway so hopefully you'll all get to hear it soon Xx

Star88 · 31/05/2018 20:51

Hi guys! Due early Nov too. At 17 weeks, still being sick daily. Anyone else experiencing sickness too? So exhausting x

MissKx · 04/07/2018 20:39

Evening! How’s everyone doing? 😊

Jennyz123 · 06/07/2018 19:05

Hi Miss K, all good here! Dying in the heat but otherwise all going well. How about you? Have you had your 20week scan?

MissKx · 06/07/2018 20:31

Ahh good! Glad you’re doing okay 😊 I know it’s super hot and all these baby hormones making us extra warm 😩 I have yeah it’s huge now compared to last scan actually looks like a baby now 😂 managed to not cave and find out the gender, the sonographer happily turned the screen off for us when she got to the legs 😂 have you had yours yet?

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 07/07/2018 16:00

Yes it was amazing, did not realise baby would have grown THAT much! Already looking pretty squashed in there - when I said that to my sister she said 'Yes but you'll stretch!' 😯 We didn't have your willpower with gender- we're having a girl! Feels super real now... have you bought anything yet?

MissKx · 07/07/2018 16:34

Aweee a girl!! Congrats!!! 😍😍 Yeah we’ve bought a few bits, pram (only cause it was on order) sleepsuits and stuff, perfect prep machine, just saving money at the moment to get a decorator in for the nursery as I’m absolutely rubbish at decorating and have no patience 😂 have you bought much?

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 07/07/2018 17:04

Yes super exciting! Awww sleepsuits - I ordered one after the scan as a treat but it hasn't arrived yet, can't wait (and we bought some tiny tiny socks)! We also got a pram as it was on offer, we're trying to get one big ticket item a month and will get smaller bits and pieces nearer the time. No idea what's best to get when though really! I hear you about decorating, I would be terrible!

MissKx · 07/07/2018 17:43

I know everything’s super tiny!! Are you getting much movement? I started with it about 3 weeks back and it’s just getting stronger and stronger it seems! Started with little pokes from the inside and I was like waaaaait what is that? Now there’s deffo no denying it’s the baby 😂😂 I feel like I’m aware of every prod, kick and roll today it’s so active

Jennyz123 · 07/07/2018 18:01

Yes same - little flutters at first but no mistaking it now, my other half has even been able to feel it a couple of times! Baby was going nuts during the football just now - think it was my blood pressure! Have you decided how your nursery will look yet?

MissKx · 07/07/2018 18:20

I’m thinking it’s gonna have to be grey with a feature wall, all the nursery furniture is like a light grey, I can’t make up my mind 😂😂 it’s so hard when you wanna keep it a surprise it’s gotta be so neutral! But then I think the baby isn’t exactly gonna notice the decor so I might as well pick what I like 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Jennyz123 · 07/07/2018 20:13

Oh that sounds fab! Grey is great and good for neutral purposes - like a Scandinavian style? Our 'nursery' is currently our spare bedroom but much more commonly used as 'the board game room' - my other half is just about coming to terms with the fact that it may need to look a bit different!! It's already pretty neutral paintwise thank goodness so don't think we'll fully redecorate. I've found some cute paintings on Pinterest and am just copying those, then putting them in cheap charity shop frames- trying so hard to save! Will try to make a sort of feature from that I think and pick up some furniture second-hand. That's my master plan but I'll probably see loads of really cute things in the shops and end up spending a fortune! The jojomamanbebe sale is a huge temptation!

BellaRoseP · 17/12/2018 12:28

Hello,
I suppose everyone has had their babies by now! I hope it went well for everyone, and you're all enjoying your new babies :) I had a beautiful little girl who is doing really well.
Wishing everyone a very happy first Christmas with your new members of the family xx

Alanares89 · 17/12/2018 12:58

Hope you and your little girl have a wonderful Christmas together too!
I have a wee boy who was born 14th November and is a dream, he slept through the night from 10-6 last night for the first time, so hoping this will last haha!

♥️

MissKx · 17/12/2018 15:20

Hey!! Hope everyone’s doing well 😊 I had a boy also on the 14th!! He definitely does not sleep through though I totally wish he would 😭😂 besides that he’s the most perfect little person I’ve ever seen 😍 Merry Christmas everyone!

Hey guys, was just thinking back to being ready to pop this time last year and remembered this board - how are you all getting on? Doesn't it seem weird looking back on life before a baby now?? Hope you're all well.

StrawberryPeach · 31/03/2020 13:19

Omg Jenny123 how have I only just seen this message from last year 😭😭 (had a name change since then) how are you??

StrawberryPeach · 31/03/2020 13:19

@Jennyz123

Jennyz123 · 31/03/2020 17:05

Lol aw that's ok, great to hear from you! We're good thanks, although definitely resident in Tantrum Town, population one! Hard to know how much is teeth related, how much is lockdown and how much is just learning the word no! How are you and your little one?

StrawberryPeach · 31/03/2020 18:01

Oh my gosh I think we’ve got twins I can relate to all of that 😂😂 think it’s possibly a bit of everything! We’re well Thankyou! Ever so slightly bored I definitely feel like I’m back on maternity leave it’s very strange being back at home all week but with a walking talking tornado instead of a tiny baby. I can’t believe I only just saw your message today I’m so sorry 😭😭😂

Jennyz123 · 31/03/2020 18:21

Haha really don't worry about it! It is so weird isn't, just like maternity leave in some ways and yet so different. I've been on leave for the last two weeks (an interesting 'holiday!') and will be wfh tomorrow for the first time in the new madness - not sure how to feel about it! It feels like forever ago we were all anticipating our babies arriving, I feel so sorry for anyone pregnant now in this situation it must be such a worry. I don't know about you but I am mainly looking forward to a) my in laws being able to see the baby again, they miss her terribly, b) baby groups and c) Costa trips when we just need to get out of the house for a bit!!

StrawberryPeach · 31/03/2020 18:28

I’m management in retail so there’s no wfh for me unfortunately, although I’m very much enjoying time with the little one feels like I’ve not had him to myself for months! He’s literally my little best friend, I’m starting to worry about getting back into the work/nursery routine as he’s already just used to being with me all day, and he’s missing family who he sees every week and I miss him being with other kids and interacting it must be so confusing for them. Absolutely agree with you on people being pregnant bit it’s such an uncertain time, must be really difficult in terms of hospital appointments ect never mind the giving birth part! I’m definitely not ready to do it again for a while 😬😂

Jennyz123 · 01/04/2020 07:27

Yeah that is the other thing that is so hard isn't it - everyone works so hard to get their kids into a routine and now it's all gone out the window! My little one found it really hard to get used to napping at Granny and Grandad's but got there in the end - it's going to be an absolute nightmare getting her used to it again. I'm also really worried that we're letting her have way more TV/dummy etc. than usual but it's so hard not to when options to distract her are really limited. My husband keeps saying lots of parents will be doing the same right now and we've just got to do what it takes to get through these crazy circumstances and I know that's true - but that doesn't mean it's going to be any easier to undo these bad habits once the restrictions lift! But hey ho what can you do?? Ah well, I'm sure we'll look back on all this when they're 20 and laugh but the mum guilt is real 😂.

Is your little one struggling with the clock change btw? Mine has been crying for an hour every night after bedtime... not sure what to try!

Rubbish that you can't wfh but pretty impossible in your role as you say! Hope you're ok, let's hope the madness is over soon.
