@pumpkinpatch, I think you only need to take more folic acid if you have been specifically told to do so

PumpkinPatch000 · 31/01/2018 19:50

@Ktn35 I have no idea. I'm only 5+3 and I haven't received the letter yet. The GP said it might not be until 12 weeks... seems a bit late if you've got questions about getting the first 12 weeks right!

Ktn35 · 31/01/2018 19:57

I am 5 4 - I forgot we were similar! I called today when I found they had now sent (faxed?!) my referral to the wrong hospital (!!!) they said I would here in a week and even that seems too much. I don’t know how I’m going to keep going if I have to wait until 12 weeks. I am still quite anxious 😬 perhaps if we can call them for advice? We must be able to surely? X

Ktn35 · 31/01/2018 19:57

Hear

Ktn35 · 31/01/2018 19:58

I would call and chase up ... mine was not sent and then sent to the wrong hospital!

PumpkinPatch000 · 31/01/2018 20:14

@snowy1982 thanks for confirming, that makes sense.

@ktn35 I only got referred on Saturday so they haven’t had long really. If it doesn’t arrive in a couple of weeks I’ll ring them. I feel anxious at times too :(

Helen290 · 31/01/2018 20:18

@PumpkinPatch000 I use pregnacare max it has omega as well as folic acid and the rest.

jo0niper · 31/01/2018 20:43

Hey bump buddies :)
I'm 6+3. Just had a scan today and seen a little flicker of a heartbeat

Ktn35 · 31/01/2018 20:43

@pumpkinpatch it’s hard it being so early isn’t it. Are you thinking about an early scan?. I wasn’t but I am now ... just to ease my mind! But then someone on here said it made her feel more panicked?! Maybe I should just leave it ... ?!

pregnantandfierce · 31/01/2018 22:45

Evening ladies, sorry to hear that some of you are feeling really sick. My nausea has been ok today, I’m finding it worse in the evenings rather than in the mornings.

Feeling a little anxious tonight, ex has been in touch. I’m still so unbelievably angry with him that I don’t think I can have a decent conversation with him right now and besides, I just don’t want the stress.

Does anyone know how many calories we should be eating a day? I’m just concerned about ballooning and also want to ensure I’m feeding my baby enough x

Scoobysue10 · 01/02/2018 06:22

Morning ladies.
I took pregnacare original with my other two pregnancies and all was fine with them.
My worry with this one is i keep forgetting to take it.
You don't need any extra calories at this stage.

PumpkinPatch000 · 01/02/2018 06:36

Hello, I’ve worked up this morning and got some very pale pink and pale brown spotting, it’s kind of watered down.. no cramps. I’m worried sick 😞 I think this could be bad. I’m 5+4 with out first baby and I don’t know what to do.

snowy1982 · 01/02/2018 06:43

@pumpkinpatch, the fact that it isn’t red is a good thing but ring you MW or GP if you don’t have a midwife yet

PumpkinPatch000 · 01/02/2018 06:52

Thanks @snowy1982 I’ll ring my GP as soon as it opens. It worries me it’s watered down.. could be the fluid from the sac or something. My mind is in overdrive. I still have pregnancy symptoms

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 07:06

@pregnantandfierce without knowing your height and weight for an average female it's 2000 calories that's with some sort of activity, but you don't have to eat more calories until the final 3 months of pregnancy your baby gets all the food it needs from your normal calories intake, lots of people think they need to eat more but not till much later on.

Ktn35 · 01/02/2018 07:16

@pumpkinpatch

This might be reassuring :) xxx

@ktn35 thank you, that is re-assuring to know! I’m so glad I’m part of this community and have your support.

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 07:38

@PumpkinPatch000 speak to your GP they will probably check your HCG and progesterone over a 48hr , I don't think they will scan unfortunately cause your still very early and they want be able to see a lot but they might try, I hope everything's ok try not to worry I know that's so hard. X

PinkyPromise77 · 01/02/2018 07:54

Welcome @jo0niper :) all good here. Don’t really have strong symptoms just slight nausea starting around 3-4pm and into the night. Tired so take a nap when I get back from work. Starving by the time I go to bed so have to eat something 🙈 but generally nothing crazy.

@pregnantandfierce I agree what Helen said. You don’t need to eat more until last trimester so follow what your body wants. Unfortunately for me my nausea gets better when I eat so trying not to go crazy so fingers crossed I won’t be a whale before I even finish my1st trimester 😂

Scan all good, did it abdominally so pics not the best but measuring well, heartbeat flickering strongly and MW actually saw movement (I couldn’t see it though and it didn’t happen again)

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 08:13

@PinkyPromise77 ah that's awesome, I will be so glad when I tell work just have my fingers crossed I get to that point 🤞🏻🙏🏻, been so worried about silent miscarriages don't google I should know better being a nurse but I can't help it 🙈, only two weeks left till I can hopefully tell people just so scared and just hope everything will be ok.

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 08:13

@snowy1982 that's such good news!! I'm very happy for you 🙂

RedRobin7 · 01/02/2018 08:14

@PinkyPromise77 That's great news about your work. I'm currently not sleeping properly as I'm dreaming constantly about telling my manager. She isn't my biggest fan already. Going to have to tell her when I'm only 7 weeks because of a work commitment but I really wish I didn't have to yet. Dreading it! Do you think it's okay to tell her by email? She doesn't work in my office and doesn't listen to me when I call her, she always speaks over me! Plus she says I talk to fast so she can't understand me. I'll definitely be flustered and talking to fast if I call her. Ugh!

PinkyPromise77 · 01/02/2018 08:21

Ahhhh fabulous news @snowy1982!!! So pleased it went well 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
