@snowy1982 I never suffer from headaches normally but I have had a lot more recently ones that last all day!! 😫 so I sympathise , it's the stupid hormones.

snowy1982 · 14/03/2018 14:03

I am waking up with them daily @helen290, normally they pass by mid afternoon but it makes work quite difficult. Sickness has resumed today as well Sad

ChilliCheeseMama · 14/03/2018 15:14

Hello 👋🏻 is anyone else having incredible trouble getting comfy at night? I have a visible bump (putting it down to being a bit chubby already and now being 15 weeks!) and I feel like it hangs weird when I lie on my side.

I wriggle like mad constantly at night and wake up loads, not only to pee but because I'm just so bloody achey and uncomfortable 😭

Anyone else or just me? Is there any way to get comfy anymore 😭😭😭😭

Hardheadedwoman39 · 14/03/2018 16:09

Me too @ChilliCheeseMama, I'm 15+ weeks and can't get comfy. Waking to pee and then impossible to find a position to sleep in. I've started putting a pillow under my bump/fat tummy!

ChilliCheeseMama · 14/03/2018 16:46

@Hardheadedwoman39 I think I'm going to have to invest in another pillow! Will try that tonight if we have a spare one somewhere. I keep seeing adverts for those big noodle pillows and I can't bring myself to buy one just yet as i don't feel that far gone 😂

RedRobin7 · 14/03/2018 17:31

@snowy1982 Me too! I'm really suffering - lots of headaches and severe migraines over the last few weeks. Paracetamol doesn't touch them 😔 I woke up at 3am this morning with a headache and managed to fall back to sleep but it was still there when I woke up at 6:30am. Had to go to work today for a 3 hour meeting which turned into 5 hours and my head is still pounding 14 hours later. I can deal with the headaches but it's the migraines which are so hard because my vision is affected, I go numb from head to toe on one side of my body and I get confused and can't talk properly... all that with the headache. I've got a dr calling tomorrow to discuss.

I really just want to go to bed right now so I can sleep this off as it's the only way it'll go but my husband is unexpectedly away for a third night in a row and I've got to stay up for our Tesco delivery between 8-9pm 😩

PinkyPromise77 · 14/03/2018 18:43

I already got pregnancy pillow Smile my sister got it for me and actually makes my nights much more comfortable. I got the swirly one from Jojo Bebe I think and it's really helpful when I can't get comfy so I would say if you are already uncomfortable just get a pregnancy pillow and see if it helps Wink x

@cb90 the 19th is my birthday too! I'm due the 21st xx

FluffySavage · 15/03/2018 17:27

Gah, just remembered I was on this thread! I'm useless at keeping up with these things.

Hello all, lovely to see the scans appearing, Flowers to those feeling rough. So, I've had my 12 week scan and NIPT test, all good and low risk for everything. They moved me forward 3 days so now due 3rd Sept. Next appointment is the 16 week one with the midwife next week...where is the time going! I've also had to start using a pregnancy pillow at night, my hips and back are really starting to hurt now, I'm hoping the pregnancy yoga classes will start easing the pain a bit.

Ktn35 · 15/03/2018 17:49

Hi!
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow ... how much water should I drink? For my early scan I had to drink a litre
But my letter doesn't tell me to drink anything at all this time? X

LucyLou19 · 15/03/2018 17:58

@ktn35 I drank a 500ml bottle then needed an internal scan which is very rare on your 12 week scan so had to go to toilet. It's usually your 20 week so they can get clear images I think xx

Friendsinhighplaces · 15/03/2018 18:19

Hi ktn35
My letter said to finish drinking a litre of water an hour before the scan. Seemed to work! Hope that helps.

snowy1982 · 15/03/2018 18:24

Mine just said to have bladder ‘comfortably full’. I drank between around more than half a litre but less than a litre, my appointment was then delayed by an hour (day of beast from the east) and I had to pee before hand so pics really weren’t the best

Ktn35 · 15/03/2018 21:03

Ah ok. Think I'll drink quite a bit then. I'm a bit overweight so want to push it up as close as I can get!!

Cb90 · 15/03/2018 21:10

I’m hoping baby stays comfortable a few days more! X

niclw · 15/03/2018 21:47

@Ktn35 Good luck with the scan tomorrow. I drank a 750 ml bottle in the hour immediately before. I'm a bit overweight too and it was plenty for mine.

Ktn35 · 15/03/2018 21:48

Cool thanks! I was so uncomfortable at the early scan! But worth it. I hope it's all ok 😩

SeattleKate · 16/03/2018 11:22

DId anyone else keep suffering from nausea after 12 weeks? I’d just started feeling like a human again last week but the last couple days have been the worst I’ve had :(. Gone off food again too!

Do you need to drink water before scan? I had one at 8 and 11 week’s privately and they had no trouble spotting baby and he’s rings HB etc without a full bladder. Do you usually hear HB at the NHS 12 week scan?

snowy1982 · 16/03/2018 11:29

@seattlekate, I am still experiencing nausea and some vomiting episodes and am 15 weeks today.

I think the full bladder makes the images clearer so prob best to go with it.

I was told they don’t listen to HB at 12 weeks as it’s deemed to dangerous

SeattleKate · 16/03/2018 11:40

@snowy1982, ugh, I hope it stops for you soon! I think it’s worse since I thought I’d finished with it! I also started feeling sick quite late so thought I’d escaped it!

Not sure I buy that about listening to the heart beat. According to pediatrician BF it’s because they can’t always find it before 20 weeks and that can cause unneccessary anxiety. I’d be interested to see research to the contrary as practices seem to vary really widely by clinic/hospital.

niclw · 16/03/2018 11:44

@SeattleKate At my scan I heard the heartbeat.

Helen290 · 16/03/2018 14:11

@SeattleKate I am 15+6 and I still suffer from nausea it's reduced massively but I'm still sick a couple of times a week and I still feel sick most mornings.
