I'm spent my day so far telling people that I'm pregnant. With the added extra of 'I'm doing this on my own'. I'm so relieved by everyone's reaction so far. My brother is so over the moon that he is going to be an uncle and has told my parents off for their bad reaction. The friend I was convinced wasn't going to react well burst into tears as she was so happy for me and has offered to do antenatal classes with me and has also offered to be my birthing partner if I want her to be. And I think I will take her up on her offer alongside asking my mum. Only two people to go and I'm less worried about telling them now. Am so relieved.

That’s great to hear @niclw :) nice weight off the shoulders! How far gone are you?

niclw · 11/03/2018 19:18

@CJ1990 They changed me 5 days earlier than I thought so I'm now 13 weeks and 5 days x

CJ1990 · 11/03/2018 19:42

Not far off me then :) I’m 14 weeks 1 day

PinkyPromise77 · 11/03/2018 19:54

Great to hear you had such lovely response from your news! And so pleased your friend wants to support you like that. What a relief it must be for you! x

@PinkyPromise77 Yes definitely a relief. Only one close friend left to tell plus my relatives who I rarely see.

Helen290 · 12/03/2018 12:21

I am 15 weeks + 2 and I started to feel the baby at 14 weeks little twinges/flutters which tickle lol and pokes was less often at the start but now more often and I know it's not wind as I get more of an ache with that, and it doesn't feel unnatural first symptom I have got which hasn't made me worry , also it's my first and didn't expect to feel the baby so early but everyone is different.

Helen290 · 12/03/2018 12:22

@CJ1990 there is no normal time to feel the baby everyone is different anything from 13 weeks.

Hardheadedwoman39 · 12/03/2018 22:17

It's my third and I felt swishes/flutters from 11 weeks - I asked the midwife if I was imagining it and she no if you've had previous pregnancies you feel it earlier sometimes.....

Hispterwannabe · 12/03/2018 22:20

@niclw - it’s so good to hear that everyone has been so supportive. I’ve told one or two close friends and family but have been waiting for my 12 week scan to tell the rest. I’m almost embarrassed and ashamed to tell people my ex left me the day I found out I was pregnant but realise deep down this is pretty ridiculous and they’ll love me whatever happens. So pleased for you!

niclw · 13/03/2018 05:32

@Hispterwannabe I wish you luck telling them. If they are anything like my friends I've now got offers to come with me to everything - scan, antenatal classes and to be birthing partner. Is your scan soon?x

snowy1982 · 13/03/2018 08:47

So, is anyone else suffering from headaches? I have them daily at the minute Sad

niclw · 13/03/2018 11:25

@snowy1982 For the last two weeks i had bad headaches nearly all day very day. They then suddenly stopped on Friday. I ended up spending all of my time either standing or lying as they were worse when I was sitting. Had to take paracetamol as well when it hit really bad. Try and rest as much as possible x

Hardheadedwoman39 · 13/03/2018 18:15

Hi @snowy1982 headaches! Yes! It's been horrible, I've never taken so many paracetamol.
@niclw I'm so pleased everyone has been so supportive

snowy1982 · 13/03/2018 18:51

I don’t even bother with paracetamol, never seem to work for me

missamy94 · 14/03/2018 07:39

Scan day today! Very nervous and excited at the same time! 12 week 5 days!

PinkyPromise77 · 14/03/2018 07:44

Ohhh sorry to hear @snowy1982 about the headaches :/ I had a few but as soon as I can feel one starts I take paracetamol as otherwise it will turn into raging migraine...

I also try to make sure I get as close to drinking 2L of water as possible as I've noticed it's definitely happening more if I don't drink enough.

Ps still no bump and I'm almost 14 weeks lol but I noticed my tummy just got fatter but it's not baby bump so getting quite conscious about it especially as I know I have indulged a bit and I'm guessing it's all to do with slower metabolism 😭 well need to get back into my healthy eating and not go crazy with the sugary snacks again 🙈

@missamy94 Good luck with your scan.

@PinkyPromise77 I'm the same with the lack of bump but my tummy is definitely more fatty too. My mum says that I have 'that pregnancy look'. No idea what she means though. I can definitely feel something in my lower abdomen when I bend though. I couldn't bend far enough to reach something the other day as it felt like a bump/lump was in my way. Very weird feeling.

snowy1982 · 14/03/2018 08:58

I think it’s still quite early for bumps is it not? I know everyone is different but baby is still only tiny. My tummy is getting bigger but it’s not bump, I have put on a little weight though have been weighing myself and it’s not too much, but I am not exercising as much (still having major fatigue) so think that explains the tummy.

Saying all that, I have noticed that just below my belly button there is an area that is slightly more rounded and prominent than the rest of my abdomen and feels harder as well, so I think that is the start of the bump. Wouldn’t be noticeable to anyone but me though

Brownbear84 · 14/03/2018 10:35

@snowy1982 I'm of work sick with headaches at the minute,it's been horrendous 😔Doc signed me of for two weeks,as I haven't been able to function some days.xx

missamy94 · 14/03/2018 10:36

Scan all done! I was expecting go and be told I was actually like 11 week as I know that what sometimes happens (I thought I was 12 plus 5) when actually I've been told I'm 13 plus 4! So very shocked, but everything is fine! So happy! EDD 16th September!

@missamy94 I'm glad the scan went well. Baby looks nice and cosy.

missamy94 · 14/03/2018 10:48

Thanks niclw baby wasn't in a good position to see at first so had to do a lot of wriggling around and empty half my bladder (which is even harder than trying not to go for a wee) and then had to sit with a wedge under my bum and eventually baby turned round so we could see!

PinkyPromise77 · 14/03/2018 11:15

oh so glad to hear all is well @missamy94 :) gosh can't imagine trying to empty just half lol! Sounds awful! But glad all went well and the baby cooperated heheh x
