There was a thread here on babies due in May but for some reason it’s been closed. Anyone is due then?

We had our 20 week scan today and everything was good, she was hyperactive! I'd been so worried, but can relax and start buying now Smile

I mainly feel movement to the sides below belly button. Found out today that my placenta's at the front so may not feel as much anyway.

Meerkat91 · 15/01/2018 16:40

I'm due 24th of may. I'm having a little boy

Fizzysx · 17/01/2018 22:10

For anyone trying to save some pennies morrisons baby event is on and they have some amazing deals! We have just raided the baby aisle and glad we have when you look at the amount of savings on the receipt!

duckii · 18/01/2018 03:54

Thanks @Fizzysx what sort of stuff is on offer?

Fizzysx · 18/01/2018 09:04

@duckii pampers nappies £12 for three packs when there normally £8 each, johnsons wipes £6 for a box of 12 packs instead £10 all the baby bath stuff £1.50 for big bottles. So its worth having a look!

BlueRaincoat89 · 18/01/2018 12:58

Sounds like some good deals, think I'll take a trip to Morrissons!

There's also a baby event on at Aldi this week. We've bought a cotbed, mattress, fitted sheets, muslin squares and a changing mat. We won't need the cotbed for many months but we felt the nursery would like bare without it!

Fizzysx · 18/01/2018 20:39

@BlueRaincoat89 I agree and might as well get while you can for such a good price!
I think I may have a look in aldi we have a cot already but things we need that I've seen on aldi online for a good price!

Jessiwoo · 19/01/2018 07:51

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hi, I'm due 29th May and we're having a boy! First pregnancy.

BlueRaincoat89 · 19/01/2018 10:41

@Fizzysx I popped into Morrissons for a few bits last night - I think this baby shopping could get very addictive!

@Jessiwoo Congratulations...we have the same due date Smile Our first too and we're having a girl!

Fizzysx · 19/01/2018 11:53

@BlueRaincoat89 I totally agree I keep getting told off by other half but my reply is he needs and its on offer 😂
I just went to aldi and picked up some bits I wanted, saved myself half the money if I brought the bits from other places I had seen so it's definitely worth it!

Jessiwoo · 19/01/2018 14:17

@BlueRaincoat89 aww that's awesome so exciting congratulations!
Yeah there are loads of baby events on atm, defo going to aldi soon!

Hi everyone just looking at seeing whats best to do surname wise and see what others are doing in same situation.

My other half is lovely but I don't want to get married not just to him but anyone (my mums had 3 marriages and it puts me off) in my eyes its only a bit of paper.

He has said for him to have his surname which I originally was happy with as I believe he should have his surname.
Now my family are saying he should have my surname not his .... which Im not too happy with.
Do I double barrel it?? Do I stick with what I originally thought of just having my other half's surname and stop letting my family get in my head?

Is anyone else in the same situation or had it in the past? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

RosaBaby2 · 19/01/2018 17:03

Just put in my dates for maternity leave (I'm 25 weeks tomorrow) Roll on the 16th April! Grin

RosaBaby2 · 19/01/2018 17:07

Fizzy, I would definitely either just have your surname or include it, double barrelled like you say. My first son has his dad's surname and I wouldn't do it again, this baby is having my surname only (the dad isn't around) but even if he was I'd still use my surname.

My sister double barrelled her sons surname, and when her and her DH got married, they all started using the double barrelled one.

BlueRaincoat89 · 19/01/2018 18:37

@Fizzysx I'm married, but my mum and dad aren't - they just never saw the point. We all have my dad's surname - this has never bothered my mum. It used to bother me a little bit at school though because she'd sign things and everybody would ask who it was. I prefer her surname too!

I think if you want to double barrel, go for it! It's a lot more common these days too.

MilfordFound · 19/01/2018 19:58

I'm feeling kicks high up on one side, halfway between belly button and my boobs. Also rummaging down at the front too. He's head down so kicks are high up and punches and head butts on my cervix, lovely.

Me and my partner aren't married (yet, we're getting married when I'm 33 weeks) and our daughter has his surname. I don't like having a different surname from my daughter, so I'm looking forward to all having the same name. I'm not a fan of double barrelled names, I like the idea of blending surnames to make a new one. Although there's no possible way to blend my surname with my partners and come up with a new one, they all sound ridiculous! Asford is one example!

LittleFox01 · 19/01/2018 20:41

Thank you to everyone who said about the baby event at Aldi, I popped in after work and got a few bits :) can't wait for him to be here now.!

Me and my partner aren't married and at the moment have no plans too unless he decides to pop the question! Baby will be having his surname just in case we do ever get married in the future :) x

Fizzysx · 19/01/2018 20:54

Thank you everyone for all your help I do appreciate it! I was all fine with him just having other half's surname till my family started kicking off. Least Ive got some time to think about it as hes not due till 22nd may, maybe I should just stick to my head on this one and not let family try sway me

LittleFox01 · 20/01/2018 14:14

So recently, I've been having this fear or going into labour early and not having anything prepared! I had written hospital bag lists for me and baby and slowly making my way through them! Please tell me I'm not alone?? 🙈 x

Fizzysx · 20/01/2018 18:31

@LittleFox01 Your not alone! Im like OCD with being organised I wrote my list for hospital bag around Christmas and plan on getting it all ready start on February, even though its super early its just so in my head I know its done and dont have to worry about it later. I want to have everything we need for the baby a month before hes due just so I know that last month I dont need to stress about forgetting anything and can just try relax as much as possible. I think im going a little crazy but just easier with my ocd so i dont stress later.

LittleFox01 · 20/01/2018 18:36

@Fizzysx, I am so glad I'm not alone! Makes me feel better 😊 we pretty much have everything ready now, just need bathing stuff! I love being organised and like you when I'm finally on mat leave I don't want to be stressing, I'm planning on washing all the clothes and making sure everything is perfect in his room (although he won't be sleeping in there).

Has anyone had their 25 week Doctors check yet? I have mine on Tuesday and just wondering what they do/talk about?

Xx

KittyKK · 20/01/2018 18:42

Second baby due 7th May, elcs booked for 30th April, which is exciting...only 14 weeks to go!! For first baby, I had everything bought, washed, nursery all set up by 25 weeks. This time, I haven’t bought or prepared anything that I need yet. Must get organised next week!!

LittleFox01 · 28/01/2018 15:41

How is everyone doing ?

@KittyKK ah how exciting that you know you'll be having your baby a little early so can prepare. This weekend I have washed and ironed all of babies 0-3 month clothes! His hospital is packed too, just mine to go. Starting to get his room ready also. So looking forward to this little man making an appearance in May 😍 x

RosaBaby2 · 28/01/2018 17:01

@LittleFox01 you sound very prepared! I've been buying little by little clothes but am nervous about buying a lot of stuff, no reason I've no history or anything. I put a packet of nappies in my trolley the other day but then took them out before I paid Hmm I'm due 5th May.

Baby's been going crazy today my 10 year old had his head on my stomach, baby was kicking and doing somersaults my son was absolutely loving it and said he could 'hear' the gargling sounds in my tum each time baby moved Grin

LittleFox01 · 28/01/2018 18:21

@RosaBaby2 I have been very organised, probably a bit too organised. This is the furthest I've got in any of my pregnancies, so I probably shouldn't be so prepared but I can't help it 🙈 feeling him wriggle every day is the best feeling in the world although he worries me a lot because some days he is so active and others I hardly feel him. He's been stubborn since our 6 week scan though! Typical boy 🙄

Awwr that is so cute!! Bet he can't wait to be a big brother. Xx
