There was a thread here on babies due in May but for some reason it’s been closed. Anyone is due then?

Feeling dizzy and faint is horrible. I had it with previous pregnancies. I’ve had it a bit with this one, but not so much. A change in air temp would do it, for example going into a shop from the cold where they’re blasting hot air. Or standing in a queue. Also walking up a hill at the zoo got me a few weeks ago. I have to sit down immediately or I will fall down. I’ve made work aware of it as I do a lot of lone working.

LittleFox01 · 06/01/2018 09:54

@Fizzysx I think you can get the form anytime from 20 weeks? I see my midwife/GP every 3 weeks to check blood pressure for any signs of pre-eclampsia! So I had the midwife at 22+1 which she gave me the form then. It should say in your maternity notes (on the time scale) if it's the same as mine that is.
As far as I'm aware you get all your holiday your entitled to for the year even when on mat leave. X

Fizzysx · 06/01/2018 13:04

@LittleFox01 Thank you, thats so helpful will wait till i see midwife and start working out some holiday else i will end up taking the whole of December off as holiday once im due back from leave.

@Frankie2015 Ha, dizzy with a 2 year old doesn't sound fun! I just have to look after myself and that's hard enough. I've not got one of those badges - I'm sure you're right that people would just ignore it. I'm hoping people will be nice when I'm more noticeably pregnant

duckii · 06/01/2018 18:33

Hi All, I've been reading for sometime now but finally made an account and thought I'd join in! I'm 22 weeks and due on 9th of May. This is our first baby.

Has anyone else been suffering with pelvic pain/leg pain? I didn't think I could get this so early on? Sad

LittleFox01 · 06/01/2018 19:30

@duckii yes I've been suffering with hip/leg pain too!! I have been to the doctor about this as I was in agony at work just before Christmas but couldn't get seen until after Christmas which of course wasn't hurting when I went. She said it wasn't my hip but it is inflamed on the outside which is causing the pain. They can refer you to a physio if they think it will help. I am in a pretty active job running around after babies all day and constantly picking them up etc and a few of them are pretty heavy so i struggle to pick them up. I hope the doctors can help you , don't suffer in pain xx

mum2bemay22 · 07/01/2018 00:13

I’m due May 20th with my first baby, a little boy ☺️

CuriousVole · 07/01/2018 00:16

@LittleFox01 sorry this is so far on in the thread but just read the first page and we are the same due date! And we have spoke on another thread Smile

LittleFox01 · 07/01/2018 07:48

@CuriousVole yes we do have the same due date! There is someone else also who is due the same day as us. Is this your first baby? Do you know what you are having? It's our first baby and we're having a little boy ☺️ xx

McTootBlowsOnHisBagpipe · 07/01/2018 09:16

It’s me, it’s me. Im due the same day

CuriousVole · 07/01/2018 11:03

A girl! So excited but I’m also struggling with leg and hip pain I’m going to see if I can get some sort of odd shaped pillow to help me out haha.

LittleFox01 · 07/01/2018 12:01

Ah how exciting! Yes a pillow will definitely help, hope the pain goes away for you soon, take paracetamol too to help. I've got a bit carried away with buying bits for the baby and we pretty much have everything apart from nappy changing bits and bath time bits 🙈 also need to make a list for hospital bags but otherwise we are ready. A lot has been passed on by a parent at my work and my manager (I work in a nursery) so it's been very helpful although I didn't think I would of got everything so soon. 17+2 to go ☺️. Have you thought of any names yet? X

duckii · 07/01/2018 13:27

I've also bought a few things (or a lot!) for the baby. Makes me feel anxious though.. about to order the pram and car seat in the next 2 weeks also!

What bath did you buy? Or what one does anyone recommend? Xx

LittleFox01 · 07/01/2018 14:29

@duckii I haven't bought a bath, but I have bought the angelcare bath seat for the main bath. We don't really have space to keep a baby bath so thought it would just be easier to have a seat. X

duckii · 07/01/2018 14:47

@LittleFox01 I was thinking the same. Do you just fill the bath and put the seat in? Will this mean their chest isn't covered in water? Just worried if they will be cold xx

LittleFox01 · 07/01/2018 16:20

@duckii, I presume so, I don't think it covers the chest unless you fill the bath pretty deep to cover? My thinking is that they aren't going to be in the bath long enough for them to get cold? Just a wash down and out again. This is my first so all new to me, maybe someone with a child before could give more information on bathing? X

CuriousVole · 07/01/2018 19:51

It’s so nice to hear other people are buying everything now for the baby! I’m starting to, and like you I’ve been given quite a lot of stuff which is great. Thank you for the advice 😊

Have you all got names in mind? I can’t decide!

Haha can’t believe we are over halfway! How do you all cope with the thought no more scans now? They will just be here in a few months!

Fizzysx · 07/01/2018 20:21

Oh our families have been so generous and excited we nearly have everything already just a few more clothes to get, sheets and toiletries and thats it!
We have started looking at names and mulling over a handful although have decided not to tell anyone till he's here on what we have decided.
He's being very mischievous the past two days I've felt him on the "outside" yet every time my other half puts his hand there nothing he stops 😂.
Im glad to read some of you have a lot already too ready for their arrivals.
Does upset me a little knowing we wont see him again until he's here although exciting too!

InRainbows · 07/01/2018 20:24

Evening all! I am 21 weeks and due 18th May. Today I had sharp pains in my vagina, had a 10 minute worry about it before Google told me it is whats known as 'fanny daggers' one of the joys of pregnancy! Hope you are all holding up well except for the aches and pains. I started pregnancy Pilates for my back and while it's not cured it felt good to stretch it out!

We are having a boy and are 99% settled on Vincent.

LittleFox01 · 07/01/2018 20:29

We have a couple of names in mine but I have one favourite name! Father in law is adamant he is going to be called "David" after his brother! However I'm not keen at all. I'm sure he will like the name we pick!

I had so many scans in my first trimester and now I have to wait until 36 weeks (11th April my scan is booked for) which just seems so long away. I think we might book another private scan around 30 weeks to see him again. Xx

2318ajio · 07/01/2018 20:51

Hi been reading for while now as dont have many pregnant friends so nice to see people with similar worries and aches!
Ive been having really bad tiredness, on iron but been assured its not that low i just have zero stamina and struggle to make it through a full day then cannot sleep all night! Never been a bad sleeper so is currently killing me waking for work any tips for a first time mum to help sleep and also wake me up seeing as when your pregnant caffine is almost banned! Thanks xSmile

Fizzysx · 07/01/2018 20:54

@2318ajio I was struggling with sleep really bad and tired alot my friend recommended the sleepy lotion you can get from lush and it works a treat as soon as i put it on im asleep within 15 minutes rather than taking hours and i only wake up once in the night rather than 5 times of more then wake up feeling really refreshed plus it smells amazing! Might be worth trying?!

2318ajio · 07/01/2018 20:58

Anything is worth trying currently! I will have to order some tonight thanks xx

Fizzysx · 07/01/2018 21:00

@2318ajio thats how I got in the end its £7 I believe for a small pot but it goes along way i put it on my arms chest and neck every night and I've just got 3/4 of a pot left and I've had it for over a month. Good luck I hope it works for you!

Fizzysx · 08/01/2018 19:47

This is my first pregnancy so after a bit of advice please! What's people's opinions on breathable cot bumpers? All these does and donts regarding having cot bumpers confuses me but is it best to not have them at all? Or just get breathable ones?

Thank you in advance!
