I started with 79, dropped to 77 or so and now around 83 or something like that, so not bad for just 14 weeks left, i think in the last few weeks my belly has increased a lot as well!

Nice name MissYeti! think i've seen a few pics of your baby then! My baby will be called Enaitz , which is a name from my area, quite uncommon tho becoming popular, It's the peak of one of the mountains. You'd think i like hiking but no hahaha, but my dd(ad) and ds(ister) do and so a few of my friends so i like the idea of them taking the baby to the mountain whilst i'm at the pub :) it's also really similar to one of my best friends sons name. The other one I liked was Amets , which means Wish/Dream and it had loads of meaning for us as well . Bless him, he's going to struggle with the name and need to spell it like i do with mine!

Its nice to have a more unusual name! My name is pretty common but i had every possible spelling under the sun while I was growing up. I found it more funny than anything Grin and anyway its better to have a name you love than one that's convenient for the rest of the world!

DaisyLand · 04/01/2018 15:10

My name is common in the area I’m from but in the uk it’s completely unknown :) so I’ve by now learnt how to spell it after 10 years :)

Those lists are so helpful! I've bookmarked them so I can check back nearer the time! I got my changing bag included with my pram so it matches, it's a good size so should get all the essentials in!

Had 25week midwife appointment today, I don't need a glucose test 😁 which I'm happy about. Appointment lasted about 20mins, listened to heartbeat again, it's offered at every appointment. It never ceases to amaze me hearing that sound. I also got my MATB1 form but I had to ask for it! Last day at work is 16 March and mat leave starts 1 April as I decided to take 2 weeks leave before starting mat leave!

The numb thigh is totally normal and is due to a trapped nerve, been told to go swimming to help ease it, so that's my plan for the weekend!

lisara79 · 04/01/2018 23:08

Hi All... I love the name Theodore @missyeti... We've settled on Alexander William Steven (Xander).... it took us a while to agree... I love unusual names too @daisyland but we ended up sticking with a really traditional name.

With regards to changing bags etc... I now have 3... a small one that matches my pram, a rucksack type and my mum for me quite a large Kath Kidson one for Xmas which I love. My friend sent me her birth plan and packing list so I spent some time editing them for me today... I'm gonna need all 3 to take all of the stuff on the list lol! I think it just might be the Kath Kidson one for the baby and a small suitcase for me... I'm still concerned I'm missing stuff. Anyone else started a birth plan?

Rae2017 · 05/01/2018 20:31

Not started a birth plan yet. Have an idea in my mind of what I want but going to wait until I go to the antenatal on labour. Plus, im having a scan at 36 weeks to see if placenta has moved so I guess that might determine the path for me!

emvy · 06/01/2018 10:21

Thanks for the link to those lists - so helpful! You all seem very organised as usual! When I told colleagues at work that we’d bought our pushchair, car seat and nursery furniture and they commented on how organised I was, it just got me worried I’d bought stuff too early!

Is anyone monitoring movements yet? I know movements can still be quite erratic and I’m trying to calm myself with the knowledge that baby is still moving even on quieter days, the movements just tend to be less strong. But then there are some days my tummy is all sorts of shapes from his movements and I miss those days when he’s quieter and it does make me slightly concerned. I’m 26+1 today. What are everyone else’s movements like? Sorry, I know this is a repetitive subject but I get so anxious about bub being okay Sad

Also not started a birth plan yet although have a few ideas of things I’d like. Very much just planning to go with the flow though!

lisara79 · 06/01/2018 11:33

#emvy we are the same... I'm 26+1 also. I feel movement every day but yes, some days are definitely quieter. yesterday was a quiet day... he's been busier so far today than he was at all yesterday! Apparently it's about positions as well... my boy is deffo currently breach but sometimes kicks feel lighter and toward my back. I still worry but movement helps!

Pumpkinma · 06/01/2018 15:15

Rolling into the third trimester with my sickness back, terrible back pain and stretching in my stomach and heartburn is crazy! Tiredness levels are unprecedented. Anyone else feeling god awful?

SBDB · 06/01/2018 18:35

@pumpkinma that sounds awful poor you! I have been fortunate not to be unwell but the exhaustion and back ache is terrible. By about 8.30pm I need to be laid flat in bed to stop my back aching so much!

In organisation news I am 24+4 today and we bought lots of cute sleep suits and vests in Boots today as well as some Muslins as they are all on sale so got everything at half price or better. We went for the Cosatto travel system as it's small and light so will fit into my Golf without lots of effort plus it's a sensible colour so when I take it to the stables then it won't be too bad if it gets bit dirty! I'd be gutted if my horse spat on a Silver Cross one!!! The pram is currently waiting for DH to collect on Monday from the parcel place.

Now it's January it feels very much like this is going to happen really soon whereas in December I think I tricked myself into believing it was ages away as it was next year!!

lisara79 · 06/01/2018 19:46

So, Yesterday, the baby had a quiet day and all kicks were at the bottom of my uterus, near my pelvic bone. Today, I've just counted nearly 30 kicks in 30 minutes and they are all towatds the top... just up from belly button... is this normal? Also, today, I can actually feel kicks feom outside where as I haven't been able to until now and he also seems to have done some twisting and turning. So weird but so amazing

I found the whole selecting a pram thing really hard! We have a Silvercross Wayfairer but as it was a gift, we didn't have to choose! lol.

Today I am trying to clear the storage room (spare room) so that it can become a nursery. Ech...

emvy · 06/01/2018 21:01

Lisara, your posts have reassured me. My kicks today are all low down and therefore difficult to feel on the outside and not visible. Whereas on particularly active days, he kicks up by my belly button with lots of twists and turns, elbows and knees, and it causes my bump to make all sorts of shapes! So it sounds like our babies are just turning around and it changes where we feel kicks and what they feel like and look like?! What you’ve described is exactly the opposite to what I’m experiencing today basically!

I loved the silver cross wayfairer and the cosatto pushchairs but unfortunately I’m really limited with my Hyundai i10 so had to choose between the oyster zero and armadillo flip as they were the only 2 that actually fit in my car!

Bez9087 · 06/01/2018 22:22

@SBDB I was very much the same how it was next year now I’m like ahhh! Blush

@emvy I’m 26 today and still movements are hit and miss. Both girls have anterior placentas but I feel my left more than my right (it used to always be the right one) but the left is head down and feels like she’s burrowing her way out where as my right is breech (the scan last week showed this) my two don’t have as much room to twist anymore as they are sharing space but the right seems to like to make extra room by sticking her bum out the side Shock you just see like a mound appear it’s so strange but they do have quiet days no pattern at all to them. Don’t think the anterior placenta helps as at our 24 week scan she was like oh they are moving so much but I couldn’t feel as much of it even though I could see it.

How are we all sleeping? I bought a huge pillow for the bed to stop me rolling onto my back as feel like I’m going to pass out once I get on my back. It’s helping but I feel like I’m just not getting any proper sleep if that makes sense?
Can’t believe how quick this is going now nearly at the third trimester only feels like yesterday we was all waiting for our dating scans.

molifly · 06/01/2018 22:25

You're all so organised! I wasn't planning on buying anything or looking st birth plans until 32 weeks!!

My kicks are stronger some days than others. He's started jabbing my ribs recently! Is anyone else struggling with not sleeping on their back? I'm finding it tricky and sore to constantly be on my side.

I'm 26+1 today and keep getting a stance lower back pain only on my right side with a stabbing pain in my groin. Anybody else had those? It'll last 10 ,injures at a time.

lisara79 · 06/01/2018 22:53

That is reassuring @emvy! Good to know others feel the same. @molify... Also reassuring that kicks vary in strength...

MissYeti · 06/01/2018 23:07

Teddy has days where his kicks are really feeble and others where it feels like he's trying to punch his way out through my belly. He's definitely still breech. Think I've had one episode of movement by my belly button in the last 3 weeks...everything else has been way low down but often still visible from the outside.

I'm still sleeping okay! It's taking me longer to get comfy as I'm usually a side/stomach sleeper but there's a certain lump in the way now xD I do wake almost every night either needing a wee or having a massive heartburn attack or both after that it's much harder to go back to sleep :( not finding it very comfy using a multitude of pillows in random places as a lot of websites suggest so I just make do and nap wherever possible during the day

HarryHarry · 06/01/2018 23:17

Hi everyone! I haven’t been on MN for a while as I’m still recovering from a cold but I’m catching up now. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year.

emvy and wonderfullysunny and Bez9087 Thank you for your concern. I am feeling a little better, though nothing has really changed. Neither my dad, or my sister, or any of my close friends know what pregnancy (and particularly pregnancy abroad) is like so I can’t really talk to them about anything. When I try they tend to say unhelpful things like ‘If you think things are bad now, wait till the baby comes!’ There are plenty of pregnancy classes/resources/activities here but unfortunately none of them are available in English so there are very few opportunities to meet women in similar situations. The only people I have to talk to are my husband and to a much lesser extent, my doctor. Midwives aren’t really a thing here so there’s no one to call when you’re worried about something (like last night when I got in a bath that was too hot and the baby stopped kicking for several hours). wonderfullysunny and other mums-to-be living outside the UK - I hope things are better for you!

In happier news, I am entering the 3rd trimester on Monday - though I still don’t look it, despite my 7kg weight gain! (I am actually quite disappointed by the size and shape of my bump - is anybody else worried that theirs doesn’t look ‘normal’?) We have now bought almost everything we think we will need for the baby (including some cute outfits for 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, etc. that were on sale). If anybody is still to buy a pram/pushchair, I recommend the Nuna Mixx 2! I don’t think it’s worth getting a new car seat as we’re probably only going to use it once, and I’m not going to bother with nursery furniture (except a cot), bedding (except fitted sheets), baby monitor, changing mat, or changing bag as I don’t think I really need any of it. MissYeti - What’s a prep machine?

amysaurus87 Does your pain/numbness happen at specific times? I get it in my arms and legs from sleeping on my side.

emvy What do Braxton Hicks (or Branston Pickles as my husband calls them Smile ) feel like?

MissYeti · 07/01/2018 01:36

@harryharry a prep machine makes formula bottles to the right temperature in a few minutes, thought it would be ideal for night feeds as we established pretty early on that breastfeeding wasn't going to work for us :)

Bez9087 · 07/01/2018 08:00

@molify my right twin is the worst for that I think they lie on a nerve in your back hence the pain and kick right low down into your groin that’s what she’s been doing to me anyway similar pains. The lying on my side and ribs my right side hurts more than left but I have the weight of her head rubbing against my right ribs compared to little feet on the left.
@harryharry we are always here to listen. It’s hard enough being pregnant but can’t imagine being pregnant outside the uk with limited communication. Some places do online courses I think so can chat to women etc and do the course but all online may be worth looking in too? Hope you had a lovely Xmas and new year.
Can’t wait for routine back to normal tomorrow with my eldest back to school and then my youngest nursery Wednesday don’t get me wrong I have loved having them home but I need some normality back in my life (and a rest lol!)

amysaurus87 · 07/01/2018 08:18

@SBDB we brought a Cosatto as well! We got the Giggle 2 in Spectroluxe, it's so bright I love it. I had my heart set on an iCandy at first but I struggled to collapse it etc so decided against it.

@HarryHarry numbness mainly flares up if I've done a lot of walking, but it's there pretty much constantly, it just bothers me more towards the end of the day.

I'm loving all the plans for nursery rooms, we are in a 1 bed flat at the moment so will have to work around that! We are planning to move once bubba arrives though.

Im 26 weeks today and bubba is moving a lot but defiently has quiet days but I think I'm starting to see a pattern in them. I've noticed the movements are changing so I still get kicks but also a rolling sensation which I guess is due to bubba running out of space!

Got another scan in 2 weeks and I'm so excited to see baby again! Just need to remember sonographer we don't want to know the sex of the baby!

Rae2017 · 07/01/2018 13:04

Feeling organised. Went to mothercare sale yesterday and bought few bits and bobs. Finally crossed off changing bag off the list! Been looking for ages and got a bargain yesterday.

We're going to be Mums this year! EEK! It's coming around so quick

Fieau · 07/01/2018 19:09

@SBDP we ordered a Cosatto Wow this weekend. The woman in the shop said she wasn't sure they could get it in time for April?? So she needs to check and get back to me. Feeling a bit panicked as I didn't realise how early we would need to order things!

Still have so much to do around the house, we need new carpets and to sort out a different sleeping area for the dog so really need to make a push on this in the next few weeks as the advice I have been given by friends is that I won't be up for any big jobs after 34 works.

I leave work on 20th March though (using holiday before maternity starts) so I will have a whole month to get things sorted if I still have any energy!

And in terms of movement, it's still variable but definitely tending to increase each day and get harder. My mum felt the baby for the first time this week which was a pretty special moment Grin

emvy · 07/01/2018 20:17

Thank you for your reassuring words everyone. It really helps to hear movements are still erratic for you too. I’m such a worrier!

In terms of sleeping, I’m generally fine but find my hips ache if I stay on one side too long. I also roll over onto my back during sleep but just shift back to my side when I wake up. I agree that shoving pillows all around me isn’t working and would also like to invest in a proper pregnancy pillow at some point. So many other things to buy though!

Molifly, I’m not sure about the stabbing pain in your groin but I get twinges in my back when my back is hurting - like the muscles are being over stretched. Is that the sensation? I guess it’s all ligament related.

Harry, the Braxton Hicks make your bump go completely solid and it’s almost like all of your muscles are tense and you can’t relax them. It’s not painful but uncomfortable and I’m glad when they stop! Not had them for a few days now. They seem to happen when I’ve been cleaning the house like a mad thing or had a particularly busy day on my feet at work. I’m pretty confident labour is going to be easily distinguishable from the Braxton Hicks!

ClaireBear1986 · 08/01/2018 11:18

My little man has beaten me black and blue from about 19 weeks. Bit worried he's going to be proper hyperactive if his movements now are anything to go by. Ha ha.
I do love the fact that he moves and kicks so much though, reminds me that I always have a little friend with me :)

My Midwife advised that as his kicks were so strong, and his movements were so routine by 20 weeks that I should start monitoring at that stage.

I think the official line is start counting kicks at 28 weeks, but if you feel a major reduction in babies movements, then I would call the Midwife just to make sure.
I went to the hosp at 20 weeks with reduced movements and the Nurses were lovely. Said they would rather I went up there every day with a false alarm, than ignored something that was worrying me.

I'm 100% struggling with sleeping on my side now, and found the DreamGenii just makes me ache even more than normal. Not sure why?
I have a very small bump still, but really bad backache. My DP thinks it might be the weight of my boobs, which are now huge!! Ha ha.

TeaAndToast85 · 08/01/2018 22:39

Last night I dreamt that I caught my mum (70 y/o) trying to buy weed from Eggsy from Goldie Lookin Chain. Pregnancy dreams are the weirdest thing ever.
