I should deal better with nightmares. However , I realised at the beginning I dreamt I was having x and I was really annoyed as wanted a z. Well I’m actually having an x Smile

Heartbeat was really good ! Def worth the wait !

eek... gender scan tomorrow! Excited and nercous... as always! Does anyone else imagine the worst before a scan..? x

Bez9087 · 30/10/2017 21:27

Good luck although I’m sure everything will be fine 😊
I’m very nervous between every scan always the same way. Always fine though

DaisyLand · 30/10/2017 21:37

I do always suffer from anxiety but after is always fine so don’t worry ! Is there any sex you prefer over the other one ?! I had mine on Saturday! Now thinking of doing something special to announce what little me is. Something like this , hopefully it’ll be nice weather over the weekend and can go to the woods to do it.

Yes I have my 20 weeks scan end of Nov. Anxious about that. Still haven't put anything on facebook and only the people who know are those I see everyday- work colleagues and girls at the horse yard obv family.

Has anyone started buying anything yet?

My friend sold me some bits that she bought new for her last baby the price was soo good I couldnt say no but she couldnt keep hold of things for me so have them in the spare room Blush which makes me slightly nervous having stuff in the house now. Also totally underestimated how much space a pram takes in the boot!!!

lisara79 · 30/10/2017 21:45

Thank you ladies... in my heart of hearts, I do think everything is going to be fine... Daisy, I love that picture!

DaisyLand · 30/10/2017 21:45

Which pram do you have ? We’ve chosen the bugaboo bee 5, I love the brand despite the price. I’ve got a seat Ibiza so it’s got a small boot but would only take 2/3 of my boot which is really good comparing to others

This is my first so have virtually nothing yet... I'm very lucky though as have friends with almost everything I need... much of it unused... I'm going to be looking at what's available in a few weeks x

Loosemoose28 · 30/10/2017 22:18

This pram is a an old iCoo so not overly compact friend gave it to me. It will be for dog walks and for using on farm/ horse yard.

Had my heart set on an iCandy for nice pram but now thinking may have reassess this as even they don't fold that small it would seem. Have just started a new thread as also have two not so small dogs to squeeze in.

HarryHarry · 31/10/2017 04:11

I got the Nuna Mixx2. Bit expensive but it ticked all the boxes for me so I figured it was worth it, at least it will be one less thing to stress about.

redavocado · 31/10/2017 07:46

Hello! I’m due early April (18+1) and finally decided to stop lurking and join you all.

We ordered a Cossato Wow at the Baby Fair because they had a good deal on the whole travel system. It felt narrow and lightweight enough for public transport and had lots of storage space underneath. We’re in London and don’t have a car so those were key considerations. Others in the running were the Mamas and Papas Ocarro (close second but more expensive) and the Silver Cross Pioneer (surprisingly heavy!).

ScarletSienna · 31/10/2017 08:23

Loose-it’s hard to shake off the superstitions (especially during pregnancy when more anxious anyway!) but lots of people have baby stuff in the house if they kept it from their older children. That’s what I told myself!

I have the Bugaboo Chameleon and I love it. It is so easy to put up and down and sturdy for walking in woods etc. It does take up a fair bit of room in the boot though!

DaisyLand · 31/10/2017 08:38

Scarlet the chameleon is my other option! But it’s a bit bigger than the bee so for my boot would be tighter and also it’s heavier. I’m planning on taking mini me to a nursery on my way to work and I use public transport so that’s why I feel the bee is better for me. Also like that the area for sitting down becomes bigger as you please and you can customise it more than the chAmaleon. Still not 100% sure but looks like it’ll be the bee :)
All my family has had the chAmaleon and were really happy with it , that’s what made me choose the brand long before I was thinking about having kids :)

In my Vw polo the chameleon was really tight. Too tight really. We now have a Tiguan and it fits much better. If we didn’t go into the woods and ‘off road’ so much we would have looked at the smaller ones as this has a pretty wis wheel base. I really like the bugaboo range-they’re not cheap but I like the sturdiness.

Saying all that, we barely used it as a pram as I always carried my son in a wrap!

DaisyLand · 31/10/2017 09:43

My ibiza and your polo are similar in boot size. We like walkng on woods as well but not that much as I'll be using it on public transport and barely do off road so if we struggle with the buggy it'll be a wrap !

OP posts:
ScarletSienna · 31/10/2017 09:48

A good wrap is such an amazing piece of kit. That takes up a lot less space in the boot too Grin

MiniMummy576 · 31/10/2017 10:02

emvy Usually our midwives just book your next appointment whenever they see you, but because I had to have two dating scans we weren't sure how far along I was (pregnancy was planned, just a weird bleed threw the dates out). So I did have a bit of an 'unusual' situation. In the end I had to phone and pester and now I've FINALLY got a 16 week appointment.... for when I'm 18 weeks. Hmm

Loosemoose28 we've still got everything from when DS was born, so we'll reuse all of that stuff. DH has banned me from buying any more clothes. We still have all of the stuff I bought first time round which is mainly gender neutral in newborn/0-3 but I've just bought two bundles of girls clothes from my local baby FB group. No idea what we're having and we won't find out 'til its born, so he was a little Hmm but if we need it, it's a bloody bargain and if we don't then I can sell it on.

ClaireBear1986 · 31/10/2017 11:16

I'm exactly the same @Lisara79, and I' sure we all are tbh. If I could, I would have a scan done every week to keep my mind at ease.
Good luck today for the gender scan, how exciting :)

I'm really torn about what pram to go for. I've seen a few that I really love but they all seem very heavy.
I'm on the outskirts of Essex/London and so use public transport most the time. For this reason I do not want anything too heavy.
Had my heart set on the Silver Cross Wayfarer Chelsea, but it's just too heavy for me to be getting on and off the tubes/buses.
Might have a look at the Cossato Wow, as you seem to be in a similar situation @redavocado.

Any other recommendations would be welcome as this is my 1st and I'm not too sure about things like this.

Thanks!!

DaisyLand · 31/10/2017 11:39

ClaireBear1986 what's the weight of those?

Silver Cross Wayfarer Chelsea is it chassis: 6.5kgs, body: 3.5kgs, carrycot: 3.5kgs ?
Cossato is 9.8kg
The ones I'm looking at are Bugaboo bee that is 9kgs and the chamaleon is 10kg

So they all seem as bulky as each other :s

lisara79 hope your scan went well!

AnnaMadden · 31/10/2017 11:57

We're getting the Silver Cross Pioneer...just likes the look of it and the package is a great deal.

ClaireBear1986 · 31/10/2017 11:57

Tbh I hadn't even looked at the weight!! I'm such a novice.
So it seems that the Cheslea Wayfarer is the lightest out of all those then. (Or am I being thick again)

Tbh think I'm going to struggle to get a decent pram that isn't heavy and bulky. Might need to start working on the muscles now. Ha.

redavocado · 31/10/2017 12:39

@ClaireBear1986 I didn’t compare weights as such but tried putting each up on the back wheels as if I was getting on the bus/up a kerb. I really struggled with the Silver Cross. The Wow was much easier so I’d check that out if you can cope with the jazzy colours!

DaisyLand · 31/10/2017 12:53

@ClaireBear1986 I think it's 6.5 for the chasis + 3.5 for the body so 10kg similar to others.

For me it was more the size than the weight what is making me chose the Bee, when folded it's 15 cms smaller than others, its biggest problem is that the wheels wont be able to go in some terrains but that's what Slings are for!

OP posts:
ClaireBear1986 · 31/10/2017 14:00

Sounds like a good plan @redavocado. I'll have to pop to Mothercare and try the prams out.
I love jazzy colours, so that wouldn't be a problem at all.

I'll have a nosy at the bee too @DaisyLand. Thanks. See what I think will suit me best.

Trust me to live by the tube station with no lift/escalator and what seems like a 100 steps.

lisara79 · 31/10/2017 14:36

Scan was great. Feel so much better. I'm having a boy!
