I went to one of the Mothercare events on yesterday, wasn't the best as half the people meant to be presenting couldn't get in because of the snow!

emvy · 11/12/2017 20:34

Claire, I feel the same regarding kicks! I can be busy going about my business and will suddenly get a big kick out of nowhere that takes me by surprise! Hence my panic last week when it suddenly went back to flutters and he was quiet - not like him at all!

However, on that note, I think maybe the quiet days could have been a growth spurt because Anna my bump has also popped! People kept commenting at work today so it must've grown somewhat! I love it too though, even if getting used to the physical difference is a bit strange. Christmas shopping wasn't fun at a busy shopping centre on Saturday!

Not been to any events. How do you find out about them?! I feel so disorganised about stuff this like I'm just bumbling along feel really unprepared!

amysaurus87 · 11/12/2017 20:43

@emvy I found out about Mothercare one as they emailed me, I signed up to their mymothercare club thing. It's useful but nothing amazing.

I'm bumbling along as well, haven't brought a single thing yet, but have some ideas about what we want. Going to do it all after Christmas!

Bump has definitely popped for me too, which I love but I'm sick to my teeth of people telling me I look really big for 22weeks and that I must be having a big baby! So blooming rude!

Bez9087 · 11/12/2017 20:57

Loving all the bump pics. Here’s mine added in.
Been back at drs today (I swear I’m gonna have to send them Xmas cards at this rate 🙈) got bad indigestion but the point my stomach is so sore under my sternum. She gave me a big lecture on pre eclampsia signs and if I have even just one symptom straight up to hospital. Got tablets to take for next four weeks to limit acid but hopefully allow my stomach to heal. Things we do for babies hey?!

AnnaMadden · 11/12/2017 21:12

Loving all these bump pics! 😍

ICantThinkOfAGoodOne · 12/12/2017 08:15

Hi everyone!

I'm actually due early May, but as it's just a few days in figured this was the thread for me!

Got 20 week scan on Friday and really looking forward to it. I've sort of gone back to not really feeling like I'm pregnant, even though I've been able to feel baby move for weeks (although husband only felt for first time last night!) - it's sort of almost just become part of my body's sensations, you know?

Is it true, ladies who are a bit further along, that movement increases from 24 weeks onward? My baby moves LOADS - I can't imagine what "increasing activity" could possibly be like! 😂

ClaireBear1986 · 12/12/2017 10:44

@DaisyLand I got one 10% off voucher that had to be used by 17th December.
Got a few other vouchers for baby products that had already expired.
I was also emailed about them, but tbh if I had known what it was going to be like, I wouldn't have bothered with it.
I keep hearing that the morning at Mamas and Papas is a lot more useful, so contemplating going to their next one.

My little man had a few quiet days as well @emvy, and even though I am still quite small in comparison to other people, I deffo popped out more than I was after those quiet days. I really love my little bump now though, can't stop stroking it. Ha.

Little man is back to raving all day long, but luckily he really settles down at night and lets me sleep (at the moment)

DaisyLand · 12/12/2017 11:47

Thanks @ClaireBear1986 . I dont have a M&P in here, would need to go to cardiff so i'd not be saving much. Doing JL next week tho. Hoping my voucher is valid for longer than the 17th as doing Mothercare on the 14th.
I still think the bit that are more expensive i'll get them from the local shop, difference in price wont be much (they've got 5% discount at the moment and sometimes they give for free the car seat) and they'll be more personal than these big chains. I will t ho get the Tutti bambini from Mothercare as it's exclusive to them.

My mum keeps telling me she wants to buy something for the baby and to give her ideas,,, i had no clue! Told her yesterday : nappies for 5 years, that will be it hahaha

@amysaurus I completely get it! I went round my parents last night...Dad said I looked huge. Then said, you've still got another 18 week to go. You're going to be massive 😳 thanks Dad.

I started aquanatal yesterday. Definitely recommend it. Feels calm and relaxing and not strenuous excercise.

I was really feeling baby on Sunday. Felt like proper little kicks. Nothing since then. But trying not to worry as been told it's inconsistent at this stage?? Anyone else?

ClaireBear1986 · 12/12/2017 12:11

The reason we did the Mothercare morning instead is because the crib and pram we want are both exclusive to them.

So excited to buy them, but worried about where to keep them as keep hearing it is bad luck to have them in the house before baby is here.

My Mum and MIL keep asking as well, so need to give them a list soon of what I would like. I just get excited though, and keep buying things myself.

I wanted do aquanatal but don't have any classes near me, so think I am going to just do swimming once a week and pregnancy yoga.

Relaxing2 · 12/12/2017 17:47

I'm due April

WonderfullySunny · 12/12/2017 18:23

@Teeeee @emvy @amysaurus87 @AnnaMadden know what you mean about popping! I've gone from no bump to having four people comment on the same day in less than a week! "Ooooh look you've definitely popped now" followed by either stares or touching, bit disconcerting!
@ClaireBear1986 I jump every time he kicks, looks a little odd when out and about, can't imagine what it's going to be like in ten weeks time!
@ForeverHopeful21 we didn't get all that much and had to ask questions to get much from the sonographer, apart from her saying he was head down already and a big healthy boy that was all she volunteered.

Anyone else feel when they flip over? It's the strangest sensation and really hard to describe, a bit like being wring out from the inside?

WonderfullySunny · 12/12/2017 18:25

wrung out*
Bump pic attached this time Smile

Pumpkinma · 12/12/2017 19:10

Loving all the bump pictures ladies 😍

I'm with you all on the popping I feel huge. And got people telling me left and right how big I'm getting 🙄 I'm sure no harm is meant but I'm hormonal and emotional and don't need to be reminded ding how fat I'm getting 😂

I've been reading a book on hypnobirthing I'm thinking about doing hypnobirthing classes, anyone else looked into it or have any opinions on it be interested to hear them?

HarryHarry · 12/12/2017 20:18

I definitely have a bump now but it is disappointingly small and can hardly be seen under my jumper/coat. It's certainly not enough to get a seat on the bus. I want to pop too! Saying that, my son (I am practicing saying that) is kicking almost constantly these days. We bought his crib on Saturday so our impending parenthood is starting to feel more real now!

WonderfullySunny · 13/12/2017 04:06

Got there...I hope!!

Pregnancies due April 2018
ICantThinkOfAGoodOne · 13/12/2017 07:35

@HarryHarry - I've got a fairly visible bump in normal clothes, but nothing to see really through my coat. That said, I'm trying to put off buying a maternity coat for as long as possible because they're £££, so squeeze myself into the ones I can for as long as I can. I've now graduated up to my ski jacket - most appropriate for this weather Grin.

Bez9087 · 13/12/2017 09:36

@icantthinkofagoodone
I got a really good one from George at Asda. Was £30 and can wear it non maternity too it’s so comfy and warm. It has a zip in panel you just add when it’s getting a bit tight. I’m probably about a few weeks away now from needing the panel 😂

ICantThinkOfAGoodOne · 13/12/2017 10:00

Thanks for the tip!

ClaireBear1986 · 13/12/2017 11:00

That is the one I have @Bez9087 and I love it.
Wearing it without the panel as well at the moment, but it's so warm and looks really good on.

I actually got the size up and have loads of space, so don't think I will need the panel for quite a while still.

Couldn't be happier with it :)

emvy · 13/12/2017 21:03

Bez, that coat is great! I'm really struggling with coats now and only have one left that I can do up. It's a tie up one and is long and camel coloured so not really appropriate for muddy dog walks, which is what I mainly need a coat for! So I may have to purchase that Asda one - thank you for sharing!

Loving seeing everyone's bumps Smile

Pumpkinma, my friend is giving me a hypnobirthing book and she said at the hospital they had incense and calming music and she loved it. I'm not sure whether she did anything else though. I'll let you know once I've read the book what I think! Just doing it out of interest really, I've not really thought much about the birth yet 😬 Today I officially hit the mark of being due in 4 months time... starting to not seem quite so far away!

Pumpkinma · 13/12/2017 22:32

@emvy I'm reading a book now it's very interesting and has a lot of valid points. But I'm not committing myself to it either as I have no idea what I'll be like once labour hits. I'm the same 15 weeks away and it's becoming so very real!! Can't believe how quickly it's going can you?

Bez9087 · 14/12/2017 09:29

@claire it’s good isn’t it I love that you can still pull the toggles in to give a bit of shapes to it if you wanted.
I can’t believe how quick it’s going either just think after Xmas it will come round super quick. My last baby was due in the may and we found after Xmas it just went so quick (except the last two weeks lol) I just can’t wait for it all. I’m just counting down the days till I get past 24 weeks for me as I know they are classed as “viable” then xx

DaisyLand · 14/12/2017 09:47

@Bez9087 im looking forward to Wednesday as well as I'll be viable by then , 6 more naps! Think i'm more looking forward to that than Father Xmas :)

I went to my 1st Daisy Foundation class yesterday, i really liked it as they teach you loads of breathing techniques, i still can see myself being the hysteric woman screaming at the end of the labour corridor :) We were around 6 woman and most of them were 25+w... i was jealous! I wanna be few more weeks as well :)

ClaireBear1986 · 14/12/2017 11:01

It really is @Bez9087, I wasn't sure what it would be like but I am so pleased with it.
I was recommend to buy it on another Mumsnet group, by a few Mummies. Great buy!!

I hope it starts going quick, I feel like it is really dragging for me so far.

I thought the 2nd Trimester was meant to be the best part, but I am really struggling. I am more tired than I have ever felt in my life. And I am an emotional wreck. Someone shouted at me on the phone today while I was at work, and I burst into tears at the Reception. Cringe.

Hopefully the week gets better, especially as it is almost the weekend at last :)
