@harryharry hypnobirthing is a breathing and relaxation technique. I feel that it has a spectrum of relaxation- one end being "I am imagining I am In a paradise of calm with ripples that I can breath through"
To the other end being "I have totally got this, it only lasts a minute, I am calm and I accept my labour. I must stay calm and focused to get through".
It is really is a tool no different to how we cope in stressful situations in every day life. Some cry, some breath, some count down from ten, some grit teeth and carry on. Hypnobirthing really is just a technique of coping- using breathing as a focus- for a situation we may get scared or loose focus in. Naturally many women hypnobirth without realising, especially those who accept labour as it is.
Its helping me relax at night.
