Thanks for welcoming me all! Aww @emvy so your also due Friday the 13th! 😀

@pumpkinma I haven't had sickness really but I am having a real issue with retching like I'm going to be sick! There are so many triggers, smells, stress even the thought of somethings! And it seems to be getting worse as go further into my pregnancy!

Congrats HarryHarry is this your first? I've got a boy of 2 years and he was brilliant laid back, good sleeper and good eater but as soon as he started moving wow was he active!

dkb15164 · 30/11/2017 07:07

Hi guys I'm 20+4 days, due April 15th. I know exactly what you mean about the sneezing thing - worse that every time I sneeze I have to rush to the bathroom to not wet myself. I've never had to wear pantyliners before but now I have a continual fear of wetting myself as the babies movements seems to be pushing down on my bladder every time - the fluttering is nice but I can only enjoy it after a mad dash to the bathroom. I've also had a really sore rib cage which all the websites say is normal as it's pushing out to make room for the baby. Doing the stretches they gave me etc but it can still be bloody sore. A few websites means it may mean the babies in a breech position with the skull pushing against the ribs which would make sense as it feels like her feet are doing an Irish jig on my bladder some days. Bit of a worry as my partner and his sister were both breech born by caesarean but nothing to get stressed over yet. Sending lots of positive thoughts to the other April mummies, hopefully you're all busy in your sleep scaring your partner/the neighbours with an insane amount of gas release.

Congrats to those who had recent scans!! I had mine yesterday. We asked the sonographer to write the sex down so that we could open it on Christmas day and she said no Shock bit disappointing! We decided to find out there and then which I wasn't expecting to happen and was extremely surprised to hear that we're having a girl. We're over the moon and had no preference but we were both convinced it would be a boy so we're in a state of shock!!

To those discussing feeling babys movement: I had flutters from 16 weeks which I know is early for my first baby, I then felt stronger kicks from 19 weeks and even say my belly move a few times, but for the past few days everything went quiet - so I was a little concerned but as everything at my scan was fine yesterday, it just shows that the feelings are inconsistent. The sonographer said that my baby was jumping about all over the place but I couldn't feel a thing, so don't fret if you're 20+ weeks and still can't feel much xxx

Bez9087 · 30/11/2017 11:42

Hi ladies
Had my scan all is we with both babies, got perfect measurements on both and both played ball. Both girls too so can safely buy pink now two different scans have showed girls. So relieved they are both healthy!
Good luck to everyone waiting on scans.
I know what you mean about the round ligament pain it’s a nightmare and the bladder as pp said always kicking mine haha

HarryHarry · 30/11/2017 14:12

Excellent news!

emvy · 30/11/2017 20:52

Yep 3tobecome4! Lucky for some, right?! 🤞🏻🙈

dkb, I too get some rib pain but baby was head down on scan so may not necessarily mean your baby is breech. I feel so much movement low down in my pelvis as well that I find it strange it's not his wriggling legs! He had his hands up around his face during his scan as well though so I guess could be hands. It's so difficult to know what these feelings mean but you're right, you certainly don't need to worry about baby being breech this early on Smile

Congrats on lovely scan news Bez and ForeverHopeful! Bez, what did the consultant say about your ecg? All okay?

AnnaMadden · 01/12/2017 16:25

Hi everyone. Lovely to hear everyone's scans and check ups are going well. Our peanut obviously likes relaxing in the Lanzarote sun as he/she's been very active this week. Also sitting here watching my tummy move and change shape with all the kicks is very magical. Can't wait for our scan next Thursday...it's the only thing that's making coming back home bearable!

ClaireBear1986 · 01/12/2017 16:29

Congrats on everyone's scans :)
What a mean sonographer @ForeverHopeful21, can't believe she said no!!

I had my 20w scan today and all went really well, so feeling sooo happy. Im 20w 1d now and have recently started to feel a lot of movement, as well as some quite strong kicks. My DP can even feel him kicking in the evening, and it's such a lovely moment for us all.

Slizmon · 01/12/2017 20:05

Snap on scan day @ClaireBear! Did you find out the sex? Our sonographer said she's 90% sure it's a girl (legs crossed the whole time but no evidence of boy parts) but to keep the receipts! #facepalm. Just started feeling movements this week and suddenly feel massive. Anyone else just 'popped out'?!

HarryHarry · 01/12/2017 20:17

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't understand why sonographers say they can't be sure of the sex when they can change the depth and angle of the ultrasound to isolate different body parts? My sonographer was able to see the view from below even when the baby was sideways, if that makes sense, just by pressing a few buttons, so crossed legs would not have made any difference. Maybe she had better equipment, I don't know.

On another note, has anyone got weird dark patches on their areolas? Mine are freaking me out but Dr Google says they're normal!

Bez9087 · 02/12/2017 07:26

@emvy she wasn’t very forthcoming with information. She agreed it wasn’t right but said that she didn’t understand why my dr had told her to follow it up. She said if the racing heart starts again to go straight to day unit or delivery suite 😳 she did say leave it with her and she will let me know so whether that means refer to cardiologist or wait and watch I have no idea 🙈
@harryharry I know when I had my daughter nearly eight years ago she had her feet tucked up under her bum firmly so no matter what way you looked you couldn’t see properly the area needed to specify. We paid for a private one two days later and the little bugger was as free as a bird legs everywhere 😂
@anna I’m so jealous of the lanzarote sun. I am so cold at the minute cannot seen to get warm.
Got another busy weekend this weekend got to gut my house today (I say me dh is I can’t bend as easily anymore to get stuff off the floor) then got my dd birthday party tomorrow ready for her birthday Monday. Can’t believe she’s going to be 8 😳

Loosemoose28 · 02/12/2017 10:53

@harryharry they say that to cover themselves due to the world we live in.

If you were told definately a girl and then a boy appeared you could sue. And mistakes are made. I guess 4D scans give a more accurate answer but the NHS don't routinely use them.

emvy · 02/12/2017 18:45

Your holiday sounds bliss Anna! Jealous! I don't think I can actually remember what warm sun on my skin feels like!

Congratulations on your scans Claire and Slizmon.

Bez, that's annoying they couldn't give you more information but I guess hopefully that means it's nothing too worrying! Fingers crossed it stays away and doesn't happen again!

Loose, the sonographer certainly didn't cover herself at our NHS scan, that's for sure! She showed us his boy parts and explained what they were! 😂 I mean, they could've been anything as far as I could tell but she certainly didn't seem to have any doubts about her decision. I certainly hope it is a boy now otherwise I'm going to have a lot of clothes to return! 🙈

Pumpkinma · 03/12/2017 23:49

Congratulations everyone on your scans and gender reveals!

I'm 22 weeks now and have finally felt some movement and tiny little kicks, it's so amazing and so strange at the same time! Typical it would happen on the week my OH is away for work so sad he missed the first time I felt our little pumpkin move, but excited for him to feel it when he comes home.

Anyone starting to get heartburn? My god it's horrible 😩

Hope you all have a lovely week ladies

AnnaMadden · 04/12/2017 11:45

@pumpkinma oh yes heartburn is starting to rear it's ugly head more and more the past week or so! Not fun!

ClaireBear1986 · 04/12/2017 15:13

I'm having a boy @Slizmon, had a private scan at 16 weeks and they confirmed on Friday.
Congrats on your little Princess...how lovely!!

I still have a very tiny bump, my Boss keeps laughing and asking if I am sure I am pregnant and haven't just ate all the mince pies.
Considering how small my bump is though, my little man has one hell of a kick on him. It really makes me jump, and seems to happen every morning, lunch and evening now.
I love being able to feel him now though, such an amazing moment.

DaisyLand · 04/12/2017 15:38

Glad to hear that Clare ! Remember how worried you were a few weeks ago :)
I unluckily haven’t felt any kicks tho I’ve had a few shocking pains that not sure it was kicks or baby pulling my nerves :) I guess that’s the bad thing of having anterior placenta that you miss all these feelings for weeks :(

OP posts:
Bez9087 · 05/12/2017 06:48

@daisyland hang in there both my girls have anterior placentas and the last week I have been able to feel them. It went from small bubbles for ages to all of a sudden big kicks. It’s so weird I feel the right girl more than my left and asked midwife she said it’s Normal to have one more active. But when we had the scan last week my left twin has always been my bigger one and she was weighing about 12 ounces (they said average is 10 so happy with that) and my right one has not only caught her sister up but over took her at 14 ounces! Really happy so the sonographer said probably explains why can feel her more as she’s got a stronger kick to her 🙈 I’m sure it won’t be long daisy till your beautiful baby is using you as a human punch bag.
I gave in and bought gaviscon the other day for the heartburn it’s driving me crazy. I did find fizzy pop and garlic strangely sets it off more. So trying to limit my amounts of each. I love garlic though 😫
Also has anyone’s bubbas found your bladder? It feels like one of mine press it to the point I feel like I do at the start of going for a wee but before the wee comes out 🙈 then eases. Little buggers I’m constantly pelvic floors adamant I’m not going to wee myself 😳🙈 pregnancy hey?!

emvy · 05/12/2017 18:29

Yes to the heartburn and yes to the dancing on the bladder!

Does anyone else's baby have quiet days where they don't move so much? I know it's still early days for movement (I'm 21+4) but I keep worrying when I don't feel him moving around so much. Yesterday he was constantly somersaulting, kicking and generally wriggling. So much so that I was aware of it pretty much all day despite being at work. Yet today he's barely moved! I've felt the odd kick but he's nowhere as active as yesterday and I've been less busy so should have been more aware. It makes me feel so uneasy but I would feel silly calling the midwife this early for reduced movements. Plus he is still moving... I just get these really panicky, uneasy days of worrying Sad anyone else?

WonderfullySunny · 05/12/2017 18:39

@emvy same! Little one is most active first thing and then when I'm eating but for the last few days haven't felt very much. I've been told not to worry as when they shift around at the moment it's unlikely we'll feel them (especially if facing backwards) as they're still small. Doctor said they ask to start properly monitoring the kicks after 28 weeks, if we don't feel anything for a while then to call in.
Same with the bladder, I can have got to loo 30mins before and then get a sudden urge but when it goes down to it minuscule amounts emerge! Presuming the bladder is being properly prodded, can you imagine what it's going to feel like in March?!?

WonderfullySunny · 05/12/2017 18:40

Do wish autocorrect would sod off sometimes...

Rae2017 · 05/12/2017 21:29

Hi everyone. Im 21 +3 today and think I may have felt movement. Lying down on my side and have gurgling sensation in tummy. Is this baby?! First time pregnancy so not sure

Rae2017 · 05/12/2017 21:31

@emvy out of curiosity what do the baby's movements feel like? It's my 1st time pregnant but i was reading earlier that the movements are very erratic at moment around this time. One day baby might be moving a lot and then no feeling for couple of days. But then also read if you have any concerns call midwife. If it reassures you i would call. They're there to give advice

emvy · 05/12/2017 21:42

Wonderfully, you're right, it's likely he's shifted position so movements are less intense. Particularly as I can still feel him, it's just almost like the movements are muted rather than strong and powerful as they were yesterday. I need to call my midwife tomorrow anyway to book my 24 week appointment so will mention it then if movements are still subtle.

Hi Rae! They sound like movements, yes. This is my first pregnancy too but for some reason I've had movement since about week 18. They began as flutters, popping and almost like a muscle twitch initially but have now developed to mostly proper kicks and prods, with the odd somersault sensation that makes me feel seasick. I can feel him easily now from the outside and on particularly active days I can see my tummy moving from the outside! Such wonderful, magical moments but then punctuated by days like today where I'm more back to flutters and popping, which brings with it anxiety that's he's not as alert as the day before! He has done this before though and as you say, movement patterns aren't established yet so it's normal to have long periods of not feeling as much. It's such a rollercoaster of emotion! I'd be happy to feel constant, all day and night wriggling so as not to worry!

amysaurus87 · 05/12/2017 21:56

Hi all, not been on for a few days so catching up!

I'm 21+2 and going by other posters saying what movements feel like, I have started to feel movements 😍 it feels like I'm being poked, sadly not strong enough for hubby to feel yet I can't wait for him to feel bubba!
