Anyone else? I know I'm an early bird. BFP yesterday and today (AF was due today)

Already a mix of impatient and freaking eat.

Need to stop googling and reading statistics that stress me out. Hoping I feel a bit more chilled when I get to 12 weeks

Also don't know when to tell family, friends, work. DH and I live (temporarily, but temporarily like the next 6 months) in an annex at my parents so we will see them all the time. Sure my Mum will guess something is up. Best friends? manager? work friends?

Thinking I will end up telling my parents quite soon. but DHs parents, and best friends, say 8 weeks? no way I can wait until 12 weeks I dont think which I know is 'traditional'

its all a minefield to me!

Do I ring the Drs now? wait? Will the DRs care yet?

the questions!

26 weeks not 36 obviously!

Flyingfruit · 17/03/2018 12:52

Ha @meow1989 I wouldn’t dare. I did count myself as 6 months on Sunday but now officially only 3 months to go!

jadeward89 · 17/03/2018 21:23

Hi @meow1989 😊
I’m still getting days of sickness which is driving me around the bend (I suffered all the way through with my other three too so no surprise really). I bought my pram yesterday 😁 I had been pining after a cosatto giggle for ages but didn’t like the price, especially without the car seat, but I managed to get a second hand one yesterday which is like new for £70! I couldn’t believe my luck. It’s currently over my nans house until under the stairs is cleared out. We now have most of the stuff we need (except a changing mat, nappies and formula). We are planning on leave my buying the cot until the baby is big enough to move out of the Moses basket.
How much have you all got left to get? X

meow1989 · 17/03/2018 23:07

@jadeward89 ooh what one did you get? We bought the coast to travel system in a deal when I was 16 weeks and went for the Pom Pom tree pattern as it was nice and neutral, getting so excited to think that my boy will be in it before too long!

We still need to decorate and furnish the nursery and get bits like a bath, chair, Moses basket and car seat base plus some littler bits, but he's definitely got enough clothes and nappies to start with and a crib to sleep in 😊

meow1989 · 17/03/2018 23:07

Cossatto not coast to, I can't type 🙄

Hello again everyone! Nice to see some new people, isn't it crazy to think the third trimester is fast approaching/already here for some of us?

We are pretty well organised, the only big thing left is the pram which my mum is buying us when she gets back from her holiday in May. We got the cot last week, but still need to get mattress and sheets and things.
It is snowing here again, hopefully it won't be a repeat of a couple of weeks ago!
Anyone else already on the maternity leave count down? Honestly can't be arsed with work anymore Grin

Sherif · 18/03/2018 10:11

Hello all

Thought I would come join the chat. Just heading into 3rd trimester can't believe how quickly time is going. June is going to be here in no time!

jadeward89 · 18/03/2018 11:09

@Meow I’m not sure what the design is called but it’s perfect because we don’t know what we are having. The lady I bought it off gave me the second carry cot for free because it was just taking up space which was so generous of her.
Hi @bluesnail and @sherif. It’s been snowing with me but it never sticks as I’m too close to the sea 😕 children are disappointed as they want to play in it.

Having been on here for ages so just catching up with the gossip Grin

Anyone thinking of buying a nursing chair? Is it an extravagance and is it fine to just use a regular armchair and a cushion (or just sit on the edge of our bed!)? I'm just thinking about the late-night feeds and it would be nice to be comfy. How long does it take to do each feed approx.?
If I buy it'll be second hand anyway...

SylvesterTheCat · 18/03/2018 14:41

(*haven't)

jadeward89 · 18/03/2018 17:01

@SylvesterTheCat I had one with my eldest (9) which I loved, I had it up until about 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant (sods law and all that) though I don’t remember using it that much in the end, even when I had my other two. They are great if you think you are going to get the use out of it then get one otherwise an armchair/side of the sofa/bed are just as good

Sherif · 22/03/2018 21:40

@sylvestercat I hope to just get a 2nd hand chair from in laws, sadly it only has wooden arms though and colour not great. Hope pillow either side and a mixed coloured throw over the top will make it compfy and jazz it up.

@jadeward89 I am keeping fingers crossed the weather is going to start getting better bump has meant I have outgrown my winter coat! But appreciate disappointment for kids if you have had a shortage of snow!
