Babies due in June...

Anyone else? I know I'm an early bird. BFP yesterday and today (AF was due today)

Already a mix of impatient and freaking eat.

Need to stop googling and reading statistics that stress me out. Hoping I feel a bit more chilled when I get to 12 weeks

Also don't know when to tell family, friends, work. DH and I live (temporarily, but temporarily like the next 6 months) in an annex at my parents so we will see them all the time. Sure my Mum will guess something is up. Best friends? manager? work friends?

Thinking I will end up telling my parents quite soon. but DHs parents, and best friends, say 8 weeks? no way I can wait until 12 weeks I dont think which I know is 'traditional'

its all a minefield to me!

Do I ring the Drs now? wait? Will the DRs care yet?

the questions!

@MegEmski Due 8th June. How about you?

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 26/01/2018 17:51

It's a boy! All happy and healthy. Feel like it's much more real now.

Bluesnail · 27/01/2018 16:32

All the scan pictures posted so far look beautiful! My scan is 9th February and my husband and I can't wait, we are so looking forward to finding out if we are having a girl or a boy.

Mariecat1970 · 27/01/2018 17:45

Hi, I've come to this thread a bit late but can I join you please?
I'm due 27th June with our first.
20 week scan booked for 8th Feb but we couldn't wait that long to find out what we're having so had a private scan last Sunday and we are having a little girl! They seemed pretty sure, but hoping they will confirm it at the 20 week scan.
I haven't felt any movement yet, hopefully will feel her move soon. Lower back ache is bad though, anyone else suffering with back pain already?

meow1989 · 27/01/2018 18:53

@Mariecat1970 I've had back pain for a while now, changes between pinching and dull aches.

Also had painful cramping today so went to walk in centre and was told it's just ligaments stretching which was a relief!

Congrats on scans everyone, making me so excited for mine on 7th feb!

Junibug · 30/01/2018 09:32

20 week scan yesterday - it's a girl!!

Got to have another scan at 28 weeks and then every two weeks after that as well - apparently it's because I have a suspected bicornuate uterus (fancy word for heart-shaped) and also because I'm nearly 40 (sigh).

Lovely to hear all your gender reveals - makes it even more real now doesn't it!

jellycrumble · 30/01/2018 16:47

Hi everyone do you mind if I join too? Expecting my first. @Mariecat1970 like you, I'm also due on the 27th June! I've got my 20 week scan on 5th Feb (Monday) but like others we couldn't wait to find out the sex... we are having a little girl!! Grin

Anyone else not felt any movements yet? Doing ok in myself just completely shattered! But we are over the moon as we've had x2 MCs before! Love the scan pics, here's mine at 17+5:

@meow1989 glad to know that going to the walk in centre reassured you- it's so hard to know what is 'normal' when everyone's pregnancies are different! Bet you are counting down the days to your scan, are you finding out?

@jellycrumble aww we are due date buddies! Congrats on the scan, lovely pics! Where did you go?
I was booked in for our 20 week scan this Friday (2nd) but we are away, so when they said the next appointment was the 8th I decided I couldn't wait that long and persuaded dh we needed a private scan haha!

I haven't felt anything yet either, I can't wait for her to start moving!

Has anyone started shopping yet? I've bought a pack of sleepsuits but that's it so far!

meow1989 · 30/01/2018 20:55

Definitely counting down days, not long to go! My little one seems much more active over the past 2 days, still not regular movements but bedtime seems to be the most frequent with a few kicks this morning and afternoon 😍

We've already got our travel system because the deal was good , it's at in laws until a bit later in preg though. Also got some nappies, vests, an outfit (and an xmas outfit we couldn't resist in sales!) a blanket, two little cuddly toys, and some other tiny bits (nappy sacks etc). I'm landing to get some stuff each time I do the weekly shop in terms of cotton wool/wipes etc. Going to look for cot after 24 weeks when we start nursery Smile

MegEmski · 31/01/2018 08:10

@carringtonm identical to me, also 8th June! Due date buddies. Are you UK? I'm South West.

@Ilovechocolatetoomuch huge congrats. So exciting. It's amazing how much more real it does feel!

Welcome @Mariecat1970 hope all go wells at 20 week scan. I've got some lower back ache (21+5). I only started feeling baby definitely move (as opposed to trying to work out what might be digestion and what was baby haha) at about 18 weeks and that was faint. Now she moves all the time and it's easy to tell.

not long now @Bluesnail I hope it goes well

Hurray @Junibug - hope all your other scans go well & you have an uneventful pregnancy

Congrats @jellycrumble - I didnt properly feel until 18 weeks or so

Getting organised @meow1989 very good. every time i think about my buying list I panic, not sure why

We've got next2me cot, baby bouncer, changing mat, a few clothes, some sleeping / gro bags, a sleepyhead, baby carrier.

big things still needed are car seat and pram

Then all the bits and bobs....nappies (we are going to attempt using reusable), bottles in case BF doesnt work, breast pump? lanoleh cream, bibs, dummies (if we use? undecided)

I'm still trying to decide if I want a home birth or not.

SO MUCH to think about!

@MegEmski I'm in the South East 😊

Mummyloves09 · 01/02/2018 03:22

Hi ladies,
I haven't been on this thread in a long time. I hope it's ok to return. I'm 22 weeks with Dc2 and due on 7th June. Had 20 week scan on Monday and all is well with Jellybean.

Bluesnail · 01/02/2018 09:31

@Mariecat1970 we haven't started buying things yet, as I want to wait until after the 20 week scan, but oh boy have I been online browsing! Husband and I are going to go and buy a wee outfit after our scan on the 9th and I can't wait.
So nice to see so many ladies having babies in June-my sister is pregnant too and is due a week before me (I'm due 23rd) which is incredibly exciting Grin

jellycrumble · 04/02/2018 14:43

Found this in the charity shop yesterday for a quid couldn't resist (I love dinosaurs!) Grin starting to fee really nervous for my 20 week scan tomorrow - any who's already had theirs, how long did it take and did you get to see baby a lot? Can't wait to see her again but still feeling apprehensive. Also has anyone had the glucose test? Also have that tomorrow so nerves aren't great!

Still no movements (19+5 weeks now) feeling a bit gutted, I know it can take a while but lots of people I know starting feeling them from about 16/18 weeks. Just need to be patient!

Bluesnail · 04/02/2018 17:49

@jellycrumble that is so cute! Love a bargain haha.
My 20 week scan is on Friday and I am also starting to feel pretty nervous, but trying not to focus on that and just trying to look forward to it. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow Smile
I haven't had the glucose test done but I know that I will be having it at some point soon-let us know how it goes!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 05/02/2018 09:26

Hi my 20 week scan took about 30 mins but only as our baby was not being very compliment!

Mariecat1970 · 07/02/2018 13:21

@Mummyloves09 great news, glad everything is ok. I take it from your post that you haven't found out the sex?

@jellycrumble love the babygrow, so cute! Did you have your scan yesterday?

@Bluesnail aww that is lovely that both you and your sister are due so close together, are they both your first babies?

Some of you ladies have been so organised with buying stuff! Our 20 week scan is tomorrow morning so I think once we've had that it will be all systems go on the buying front. Although I am feeling a bit nervous about it- I've been like this in the lead up to each scan/appointment so far, I can't help but worry!

meow1989 · 07/02/2018 15:26

Were having a baby boy 💙💙💙
All looks good and healthy from 20 week scan and all of a sudden it feels real! Got a bit carried away and did some baby grow shopping after scan, so excited and happy!

jellycrumble · 07/02/2018 16:17

@Bluesnail - Good luck for your scan on Friday! Please come and update us with some lovely scan photos! The scan went so well, thank you for asking, baby girl was fast asleep sucking her thumb, so it was a dream getting the measurements of the heart etc but when it came to getting a profile shot she was still in a deep sleep! So I ended up lying on my side (after doing star jumps, running on the spot and wiggling my bum, none of which worked) while the sonographer quickly took some pics! Grin Oh and I stupidly got the dates wrong for my glucose test - when the lady told me I burst into tears (VERY hormonal right now Blush) So mine isn't until March - do you know when yours is?

@Mariecat1970 - thank you! The scan pics on my last post were done by BabyBond, the gender package, they were fabulous and the images were so clear! Highly recommend! And yes had the scan on Monday, went so well and was lovely to see her again! The next 20 weeks are going to drag! Are you having your scan tomorrow?

@Meow1980 - Congrats on your little boy! How exciting! Buying stuff is so exciting and makes it seem so definite - I've actually found some lovely cheap clothes in Poundland of all places! H&M also do some lovely stuff.

Now some of us have had the 20 week scan, who will be going for a 3D/4D scan, and when? Still not feeling movement but found out I've got an anterior placenta!! (Where the placenta is at the front and can make feeling movement tricky.) Anyone else got one?

jellycrumble · 07/02/2018 16:22

Couple of (blurry) pics:

Bluesnail · 07/02/2018 18:16

@Mariecat1970 yes we are both excited, it is going to be a busy summer that's for sure! I am pregnant with my first, but this is my sister's second little one so she is an excellent source of advice Grin
@jellycrumble thank you for the luck, only two days to go now! I'm so excited, it's all I'm talking about at work haha. What a beautiful picture, I'm so pleased all went well for you and baby was so well behaved for the measurements. I had to go through the same process at my twelve week scan, but because baby wouldn't stay still! Star jumps aren't the easiest when you're trying to hold your skirt up.
I'm feeling you on the hormonal side of things, I cry at the drop of a hat now! I've not had mine scheduled in but will keep you updated Smile

meow1989 · 07/02/2018 19:23

@jellycrumble mines anterior which I was surprised at as I've been feeling quite a lot of movement but maybe that will change as preg progresses 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn't mind having another scan but hubs finds the 3D ones a bit scary 😅

Gaelach · 07/02/2018 20:17

Any mums in Ireland or NI?

Bluesnail · 10/02/2018 06:58

Hi @Gaelach, I'm from Scotland and not sure about the rest on here.

Had my twenty week scan yesterday and it went perfectly! Baby looked exactly as it should and all organs etc. were looking great. Baby was wriggly, just like at the 12 week scan which was lovely Grin
We got something of a surprise though-we are expecting a baby boy! My whole pregnancy, I've been convinced I was having a girl and so has DH so we got a bit of a shock! Obviously I'm still over the moon, I had no preference just a strong "girl" feeling which was total bollocks as it turns out haha. He looked lovely and healthy which is all I wanted to see, I am so delighted. Didn't get any decent pictures because he was so wriggly so won't bother posting-we've nicknamed him the Karate Kid for now lol

jellycrumble · 10/02/2018 12:54

@meow1989 Ooh I'm so jealous you've been feeling movement so early!! Hopefully little miss will start kicking me soon enough. We also find the 3D scans a bit scary Grin

@Bluesnail A boy! How wonderful - congratulations! We were convinced it was a boy the whole time so we were a little surprised when they said boy .... but once you start buying little bits and pieces it'll make it feel so real (plus there are some gorgeous little boy outfits around!) my 12 scan was the same, so blurry she looked like a little alien with a huge nose! Just another measly 20 weeks to go...!!
