Anyone else? I know I'm an early bird. BFP yesterday and today (AF was due today)

Already a mix of impatient and freaking eat.

Need to stop googling and reading statistics that stress me out. Hoping I feel a bit more chilled when I get to 12 weeks

Also don't know when to tell family, friends, work. DH and I live (temporarily, but temporarily like the next 6 months) in an annex at my parents so we will see them all the time. Sure my Mum will guess something is up. Best friends? manager? work friends?

Thinking I will end up telling my parents quite soon. but DHs parents, and best friends, say 8 weeks? no way I can wait until 12 weeks I dont think which I know is 'traditional'

its all a minefield to me!

Do I ring the Drs now? wait? Will the DRs care yet?

the questions!

Hello!
My first post, please can I join you?
So sorry for losses x love to you all.
I think I'm due mid June, became pregnant straight after stopping pill so was all a bit of a shock!
Enjoying it now, quesy sometimes especially in evening and my appetite is all or nothing.
I let my doctor's surgery know last week but not heard anything yet? I wasn't exactly expecting a team of health professionals to land on my doorstep the next day but I must admit I would really like a booking in appointment and scan date soon, as would my partner. We are so happy but it's early days and I'm nervous about getting too excited!
I have an ear infection and had an emergency GP appointment on Sunday (a Sunday!) and I'm now on antibiotics, although I did check and I know they are safe to take it has kind of bothered me.
Emergency Dr didn't seem fussed at all about my concern, I guess he has seen it all before.
Sorry to go on. Just nice to chat.
Would it be unreasonable for me to call the midwife service tomorrow and check they have my forms (the reception team fax them over)?

Thanks for reading x
So excited for June x

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 21/11/2017 06:32

Hi knit. I would phone and check, I had to phone the midwife and book it myself.

Paperchains1986 · 21/11/2017 07:04

I'm 30 (31 in Dec) and 10 weeks pregnant with my first. Thought I was due end of May but had early scan middle of last week (following some moderate bleeding the previous week) and they dated it/him/her at 9+4, meaning my due date is about 17th June? Anyway, that's what an online calculator said.

I've been sick in the evenings, but not every evening. Some worse than others, have some bloating, my already large chest is growing and my tops don't really fit at the mo which is depressing, and I'm feeling down/depressed and I'm not sure why!

Feeling rather anxious and I'm far from patient so it seems ages before I can be open about it (though close friends and family know now).

I'm not enjoying this early bit and everyone tells me it'll get easier in the 2nd trimester so fingers crossed.

I'm overweight and stressed about that too (BMI = 30.2) and I'm taking 5mg of folic acid instead of .4 as a result. In one way I'm desperate for the pregnancy to be over but that means I'm going to have the real life human to look after and that makes me more anxious.

I'm worried about my job (I'm the highest earner) as my commute is 4+ hours a day there and back and I've worked pretty hard to get my professional qualification and thinking I'll be in some entry level admin role part time for a while and put my career back a few years. My husband works shifts (he is a police officer) and is often home hours late and I'm stressing about being left alone with the kid for hours at once, instead of knowing he'll be home at 6pm, or whatever, if it was a job with regular hours.

Bit of a rant there! Tell me I'll feel OK soon! Confused

Knitonepearl · 21/11/2017 08:49

Chocolate thanks for your reply, I'll call them today x
Paperchains, congratulations! Everything will be all right!
It's hard to believe I know but I keep telling myself the same and not to worry too much about when baby comes but enjoy the present.
I've struggled with tiredness and was pretty grumpy with an ear infection so not always enjoyed it either.
I suffer with anxious feelings too, and understand. It's easy for me to say 'don't worry' much harder to do.
I suppose my advice is, take each day as it comes and everything says pregnancy symptoms ease off in second trimester.
Have a good day x

Hi all,how are you getting on? Has anyone tried a Doppler yet? I have the angel sounds Doppler from my first pregnancy and thought I'd give it a go,not really thinking I'd get a heartbeat yet but I did today at 11weeks.I can tell it's the baby's as it's so much faster than mine! It's really reassuring as my scan date isn't until I'm nearly 14 weeks,so I thought I'd let people know in case you want to try it.They are notoriously unreliable though so I had to be careful not to panic if I ever couldn't hear it last time!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 21/11/2017 22:27

I did think about a Doppler but i thought I might become a bit obsessed!

Finefineanddandy · 22/11/2017 13:00

Yeah I think they can have downsides in that way, particularly as they are so unreliable! I was a bit last time until I could feel the baby move and then I forgot about it.Its been good this time though as I've have next to no symptoms so at least I know there's a baby in there for now.

hkay · 30/11/2017 22:12

It's my first scan tomorrow... exactly 12 weeks tomorrow! It feels like I've been waiting for this to come for ages. Nervous and excited. Starting to show a bit (with a mix of food baby and real baby!) so feeling more conscious at work. Really hope everything is okay tomorrow so I can make plans to tell work and share our news with more of our nearest and dearest. Hope everyone is well! This thead's gone a little quiet as the temperature has plummeted!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 30/11/2017 22:22

Hi hkay.
That is so exciting :) 12 weeks is a real milestone in my book.
Our scan isn't for another whole week, it feels like forever!

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 05/12/2017 06:47

Hello, is anybody still here?
Hope you guys are all doing o.k. 3 days till my 12 week scan, literally counting down the minutes.

Scotslass01 · 05/12/2017 21:14

Hello!

I'm 12 weeks Thursday but my scan isn't till next Thursday. I am filled with excitement and nerves for my scan. I just want to know my wee baba is coming on well.

@Ilovechocolatetoomuch and @hkay we are round about the same time woohoo.
I am also starting to show a bit feel massive by the end of the day between baby and bloat. I'm glad I can tell people next week cos I'm going to struggle to hide it much longer.

Today is the first day I haven't felt dreadful with nausea, it's been amazing. I feel about 80% human. I just need the headache I've had for 2 weeks to bugger off now.
I want to start back some exercise this week so going swimming on Friday.
I hope it's now getting to the point I can enjoy my pregnancy with less worry of mc and feeling good.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 08/12/2017 20:03

I had my scan today. All looked good, such a relief!

Scotslass01 · 08/12/2017 20:30

@Ilovechocolatetoomuch woohoo that's great. Show us your wee picture x

Paperchains1986 · 08/12/2017 21:13

Had my scan today - due date confirmed as 11th June!

Scotslass01 · 08/12/2017 21:57

@Paperchains1986 fabby! Exciting times x

Orangesaretheonly · 11/12/2017 08:10

I am starting to fee, better (thank god!) I've been sick pretty much every day from 7.5 weeks to now. Am 14 weeks on Friday and today I've woken up feeling ok!! I am signed off work until after xmas as my GP gave me two 4week sick notes. She suffered badly when pregnant, very sympathetic. So fingers crossed this is the start of feeling better! Scan was done last week. Due 16th June Smile

Hey all

how are you getting on?

Any updates?

Junibug · 25/01/2018 16:40

Hi! Been a bit quiet on here hasn't it....

Got my 20 week scan on Monday - anyone else had theirs yet?

The nausea seems to have lessened thank god and I've actually got some energy now for the first time in months. Still eating like a horse though Blush

meow1989 · 25/01/2018 16:51

My 20 week scan isn't until the 7th February, feels like forever away but second trimester definitely feels like it's quicker than the first don't you think?

I've not been sick for over a week now so hoping that's passed and my appetite is back big time Smile

I've been feeling some "pops" for a week or two which I think are movements, how's everyone else getting on on that front?

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 26/01/2018 07:40

Hi everyone. 20 week scan today! secretly I would really love a girl but most importantly healthy baby is all we hope for.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 26/01/2018 07:41

Ps we are 19 1/2 weeks with second dc and can feel actually kicks on the outside already! I'm sure it wasn't this early with ds.

MegEmski · 26/01/2018 08:51

@junibug Hi - not long until Monday! Mine was tuesday just gone. First time I've cried! It's a worrying scan with all they check but lovely as well. Are you finding out sex? I'm eating ALL OF THE THINGS and turning into a blob but fuck it, i'm embracing it....

@meow1989 Hello! feels like such a long wait - coming into Jan with my scan at the end felt so long but it did get here eventually haha. I've definitely been able to feel movements the last couple of weeks. Started as pops and clearer now.

@ilovechocolatetoomuch good luck today. Let us know how it goes

OP posts:
Junibug · 26/01/2018 09:14

Ooh good luck with scan today! We are going to find out the sex but try keep it a secret from friends and family. Not sure how long that will last!

Great that you are all getting movements - I don't think I've felt anything significant yet (bit worrying) although I may be misinterpreting some of the flutters as non-baby movements?! Am going to speak to midwife on Monday. Heard the heartbeat at 16 weeks though so fingers crossed it's all ok...

Have a lovely weekend everyone! Smile

carringtonm · 26/01/2018 09:16
