Babies due in June...

Anyone else? I know I'm an early bird. BFP yesterday and today (AF was due today)

Already a mix of impatient and freaking eat.

Need to stop googling and reading statistics that stress me out. Hoping I feel a bit more chilled when I get to 12 weeks

Also don't know when to tell family, friends, work. DH and I live (temporarily, but temporarily like the next 6 months) in an annex at my parents so we will see them all the time. Sure my Mum will guess something is up. Best friends? manager? work friends?

Thinking I will end up telling my parents quite soon. but DHs parents, and best friends, say 8 weeks? no way I can wait until 12 weeks I dont think which I know is 'traditional'

its all a minefield to me!

Do I ring the Drs now? wait? Will the DRs care yet?

the questions!

So glad to see all the 20 week scan with healthy and active babies. 23w 2d and feeling excited as only 17weeks left. Bring on June and the bundles of joy.

Cookie1831 · 10/02/2018 14:18

Hi ladies I have been on the other antenatal June group but thought I might as well join both for the fun!
20 week scan yesterday baby fast asleep so couldn’t tell the flavour which isn’t a bad thing as hobbies wanted a surprise, I feel loads of movements but posterior placenta, with first it was anterior and I felt nothing until 23 weeks
gaelach I am Irish but living in England xx

Cookie1831 · 10/02/2018 14:19

Hubby

meow1989 · 10/02/2018 14:53

She'll be kicking away for you to feel before you know it @jellycrumble , it's the most wonderful feeling, hubs keeps jokingly telling baby to stop kicking me but I tell him to shh because I want kicks all the time!

meow1989 · 12/02/2018 14:37

What's everyone doing about antenatal classes? In my area you have 5 sessions but they're all afternoon weekday and DH won't be able to get there due to work. I'm put off of nct because of the cost and also people I know who've done it found it wasn't as social as advertised... will I look weird going it alone to the nhs ones? It's a shame as I have a lot of child care experience so really wanted DH to be able to get involved and learn.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 12/02/2018 17:39

This is our number 2 but big gap so not sure if to do a refresher or not.
With ds1 we did nct classes and made some lovely friends I don't necessarily think you get anymore info (or friends) than with the nhs though. One lady came alone as her hubby was always playing sport. I would prob go alone rather than not at all x

Mariecat1970 · 13/02/2018 13:39

@meow1989 and @Bluesnail - congrats both of you, 2 little boys Smile how exciting! Glad both scans went ok.

We had ours last week- baby wouldn't get in the positions needed to get all of the measurements, even with me jumping around the waiting room like I was doing some sort of aerobics class! Everything they did see was fine, but we have to return in 2 weeks to do the rest.

Also meant they couldn't confirm the sex, so we have to assume she is still a girl for now haha!

@meow1989 We haven't decided yet what to do about antenatal classes- in our area the nhs ones are 2 sessions for 2 hours each. Nct classes get very mixed reviews in our area in terms of how useful they are, however my friend said she made loads of good friends from her group- but it's an expensive way to make friends especially with everything else to buy at the moment. However as our nhs ones are only 2 sessions long I don't think you'd have the time to bond with the other people in the group......and it doesn't seem very long to actually learn anything!

Hi guys! Sorry for not posting for a while, been hectic at work and have been struck down with a horrible virus! Not much fun.
Thank you @Mariecat1970 and @jellycrumble for the congratulations! Glad we have all had good 20 week scans, now we start the waiting game for June coming around...
Went to the midwife on Wednesday and heard the heartbeat of our little boy which was incredible. All looking good, I have been booked in for my glucose tolerance test at the start of April so I'll let you know how it goes Smile
Hope everyone is well and getting even more excited!

jellycrumble · 03/03/2018 13:13

Hi @bluesnail how are you getting on? Are you feeling better now? It's so lovely hearing the heartbeat isn't it! So nice having that reassurance. I heard her last week as I still wasn't feeing movements at all (stupid anterior placenta).

Some good news my end - FINALLY felt the baby move at last at 23 weeks! Woohoo! Or at least I think it's her...! Do kicks/movements feel like little tiny twitches/muscle spasms?

Has anyone started to develop a bump yet? I think I have, although my stomach wasn't the flattest beforehand! Have you bought your first big purchase? We've started buying lots of clothes, a changing mat and "little bits" but our spare room is an absolute dumping ground from when we first moved in so God knows how we will turn it into a nursery! Grin Hope you're all staying safe in this bloody annoying snow.

Bluesnail · 03/03/2018 14:37

Feeling much better thanks @jellycrumble, took a few days off work and resting seemed to have helped speed up my recovery process Smile
Oh my goodness that's wonderful! You must be over the moon-it is such a special feeling. Yeah that's quite a good comparison to be honest, popcorn popping/nudges is how I mostly describe it. Now my little one is a full on acrobat, and we can see and feel the movements from the outside-which will be you very soon!

I think I have started developing a bump, but I think it's only noticeable to me and hubby as I had quite a belly before I got pregnant. I'm sure I'll regret saying this when I am huge and uncomfortable, but all I want is a big bump! I am seeing my sister tonight, who is a week further on than me and much more petite, so I'm sure I'll have bump envy lol.

That sounds exactly like my spare room at the moment, we went and did a fairly big shop a couple of weeks ago so have clothes, changing mat, some packs of nappies (boy was it weird buying those! Made it so much more real somehow) and various toiletries and things. I am getting the moses basket and stand, a little bouncer chair and baby bath tonight when I see my family, goodness knows where we'll keep it all until the spare room is sorted...
I don't know when we should buy the cot, I am thinking little one will sleep in the moses basket in our room for the first 6 months or so, but I kind of want to buy the cot anyway so at least we have it? What is everyone else doing?
Venturing out to try and shovel the snow away from the car-wish us luck! Grin

jellycrumble · 04/03/2018 17:33

Think it's just me and you on this board now @bluesnail! I've had a look at the other antenatal boards but they're so big and established that I feel a bit scared and I don't know anyone Grin Glad you're feeling better now! Being ill is crap but when you're pregnant it just seems to make things 10x worse!

When did he make the leap from flutters to full on kung fu?! Would love my DP to be able to feel her, at the minute all he's got is me going "oooh!" every half hour, must drive him bananas. It's so ticklish! Glad to know it's kicks, my midwife was a little concerned I hadn't felt a thing yet, so glad to tell her when I see her!

Ah bless you, I'm sure you've developed a bump, does it feel hard anywhere yet? Have you been taking progress pictures? I've had to as I looked pregnant before I even fell pregnant Grin So on the days where I just feel like a beached whale I whip out the pics and can deffo notice a difference - not massive but enough to make me feel a little more preg and a little less fat! You'll pop out before you know it, I'm sure - I think everyone has one of those annoyingly slim sisters, I also have a twig sized sibling haha! Snot fair.

You sound SO much more organised than me! Out of interest which nappies have you gone for? So much choice but I heard good things about Lidl and Aldi nappies. Have you signed up for Emma's Diary and Bounty too? I think you get 3 packs from each company at different stages of your pregnancy, lots of free samples and nappies and things. I got a mum to be pack from Bounty it was bloody shite - only got a load of vouchers and a smidge of Bio-Oil! But I shall persist as I love freebies Grin Are your family buying all bouncers and bits like that? We've got a moses basket from my lovely DSis, she will sleep in there to start, and hoping to have a cot too so when shes a bit bigger will transfer her to that - thats the plan! But as we know having a baby isn't one smooth ride haha!

meow1989 · 04/03/2018 19:03

I'm still here too! 🙋🏻‍♀️

I'm rubbish at replying though go because by the time I get to reply in the app I can't remember what the last posters have said 😂🙄

I've got a bump now, have been doing weekly progress pics which make me smile because I thought I had a bump from about 12 weeks but that was so clearly bloat until about 18. I've also seen some movements from outside but he's a sneaky one and stops when he realises I'm looking (obviously he's a genius and aware of me watching). DH has felt quite a few kicks now and bubs has found a little pattern of being super active first thing and at night, or if I'm eating, otherwise it's flutters. He has found a spot a few times where a nerve must run because if he stamps in it it's a bit of a painful shock!

Is anyone else finding pelvis and sometimes bottom of bump quite achey by the end of the day? Turning in bed is especially annoying as I have to wake up to manoeuvre.

Now we're 24 weeks (+2, cant help counting days as well as weeks) we've started clearing the spare room as I'm desperate to start nursery decorating! (Plus, he is taking over our wardrobe and I could do with somewhere to put everything!)

Glad you ladies are getting along well x

jadeward89 · 04/03/2018 19:27

Hi everyone, I found this post when I first got my BFP in Oct but didn’t post (multiple miscarriages over two years and wanted to wait for my scan) I then lost the post until now.
I am due June 14, (so 25weeks 3 days) I don’t know what baby is (everyone thinks it’s a girl though). This will be baby number 4 for us. I’ve been feeling movements for a while but I can now see the movements too.
Hope everyone is feeling ok Smile

FloydOnThePull · 04/03/2018 20:27

Hi Jade, we're due date buddies, 14th June for us too! Does it feel like ages away for you too?

jadeward89 · 05/03/2018 12:18

@FloydOnThePull there are days when it seems a life time away and then others when I panic that it’s not that far and we haven’t got a pram or car seat we’ve got a Moses basket and blankets and a few baby bits. Have you got much ready yet?

FloydOnThePull · 05/03/2018 18:34

Yes @jadeward89 also have the panic! We trying to arrange some building work before the baby gets here and I was talking to the builder today and had a small panic about how little time there was left between now and June. We've got come bits and have made a list of the stuff we still need to get but as it's our first we have no real idea whether we have the "right" stuff. Just have to wait and see how it pans out I guess!

Bluesnail · 06/03/2018 06:02

@jellycrumble being ill and pregnant is definitely not an experience I'll look back on fondly-I was totally floored!
Hmmm it's mainly been in the past 2 or 3 weeks, some days more than others as well depending I think on which way he is lying. Some days it honestly feels like full on somersaults and I can feel my tummy stretching with whichever body part he is choosing to move around Grin

Bump feels hard, especially when lying down, so I know it's there but I just wish it was more visible! It'll come though, I am just being impatient lol. I haven't taken any progress pictures and I really wish I had, I'm sure I'd be much more content now if I had haha. That will be such a nice thing to look back on as well, from no bump to big bump to no bump again when baby is born! Are you going to print them out and keep them in a baby book or anything?

We've gone for Aldi nappies, the newborn ones are only 99p for a pack of 24 and have been highly recommended, so I figured they were the winners. Oh I haven't signed up for anything, but I'll definitely check it out, I love a freebie! The stuff I got from my family is hand me downs from my sister mainly, which is great because I won't feel too bad if baby doesn't like them-at least nobody is out of pocket then. I don't feel all that well organised but it certainly helped going and doing a clothes shop, it is crazy to think there will be a baby filling all the teeny tiny sleepsuits in the not too distant future.

When is everyone buying there pram? And which one are you thinking of getting? I am so stressed out about it, I didn't realise they were so expensive!! Luckily my mum is buying mine for me, but I still don't want her spending loads of unnecessary money on it!

Hi @meow1989 glad to see you're still here too! I know what you mean about posting on your phone, I always forget what I'm replying to. Ooh I've had him stamping on a nerve too, I actually yelped the first time it happened haha.
Definitely finding bump and pelvis aching by the end of the day, especially if I have been walking around a lot or bending or lifting. Went and did a big food shop after work last night and I could barely get in the car I was so sore. I've already bought a yoga ball which I find is really helpful for when my pelvis is quite sore, it wasn't expensive from Argos either.

Hi @jadeward89 and @FloydOnThePull Smile

meow1989 · 16/03/2018 18:46

Hi ladies how are we all?

I'm officially 6 months today so 2/3 of the way there 😍

Really need to get nursery sorted, need space back in my wardrobe!

Flyingfruit · 17/03/2018 08:22

Hi @meow1989 I think we must be due date buddies as I’m also 6 months today! Roll on 17th June!
I’m so desperate to get everything sorted, I feel like we have stuff everywhere and none of it in a proper place!

ceestar · 17/03/2018 09:06

Hi everyone! I’m new! Thought I would say hello as I’m due on the 5th June. It’s my first pregnancy and it came as a big shock and it’s been quite a stressful process if I’m being honest. I feel bad even saying that but it really hasn’t been plain sailing! It’s nice to meet you all!

WreckItRach · 17/03/2018 09:13

I'm due with my first on 12th June! Very excited to be in the third trimester 😁😁 we are spending the weekend decorating the nursery!
I hope everyone is doing well and aren't struggling x

meow1989 · 17/03/2018 11:49

@Flyingfruit ah I'm the 22nd, counting 6 months as 36 weeks (please don't take it away from me! 🙈😅)
Hi new people! Congratulations on pregnancies and being in the June club!
