Thanks ladies, I haven't bled again for the last 6 hours so hoping it's stopped.

Brenna24 · 27/09/2017 20:40

That is good to hear Lisara. My bleed lasted 9 days with this pregnancy and it was still ok. I have everything crossed for you.

whyhastherumgone · 27/09/2017 20:53

Fingers crossed for you @Lisara

I keep getting sharp little twinges/pains down my right-side today, could these be stretching pains?
I've not really had any lower down pain yet, sometimes felt a bit crampy but not exactly crampy at the same time, but now I'm starting to get more twinges - under my ribs as well...

AmyB1986 · 27/09/2017 21:41

Evening all, hope you’re all ok...

@lisara79 hope the bleeding stays away, must have been really scary!

I’ve had a huge show this evening. TMI but it was slimey with a bit of blood in it. Happened with dd1 two days before I went into labour with her and she was 11 days early. I’ve got 12 to go until my csection I just hope I don’t go into labour as I don’t want another emcs.
Braxton hicks have become a lot more regular and are painful at times plus I’m getting pressure when I have one so signs are looking like things may be happening.
Going to see the Midwife in the morning so will mention the Show to her and see if she wants to do an examination to see if I’m dilating or not.
Getting nervy Confused

minniemouseears · 27/09/2017 21:49

@lisara hopefully it's a really good sign that the bleeding starts and stops fingers and toes crossed for you it does seem intermittent bleeds are pretty common and usually are absolutly fine
Hope everyone ok today

lisara79 · 27/09/2017 22:28

You do make me feel better ladies. My 12 week scan is next wednesday... just want all to be ok. good luck for tomorrow @amyb1986... I hope all waits for your c section x

Brenna24 · 27/09/2017 22:37

Yikes Amy. I hope baby decides to stay put. Best of luck.

I am glad you are feeling better Lisara. I have a mental busy day next wednesday, but will be thinking of you and looking for updates as soon as I get home.

Doublechocolatetiffin · 28/09/2017 07:58

@AmyB I hope the baby stays put till your csec. Exciting that's you're so close to meeting them though Grin

@Brenna sorry I should have said earlier, I'm so glad the scan went well. The pic was gorgeous.

Smurf123 · 28/09/2017 08:11

Thanks for the new thread.
Lovely scan pic Brenna Smile
Amy hope baby stays put for your c-section. You are getting so close now.

AmyB1986 · 28/09/2017 08:38

Morning... thanks all I hope she does too.
Had a bit more this morning and a few painful back contractions. DH is at work. My bags are in the car, he works right near the hospital.
I’m going to go shopping get some groceries if the Midwife doesn’t suggest I go in but will see.
Monitoring at the min to see if these contractions progress. Fingers crossed they don’t!
Hope you all have a good day

mogulfield · 28/09/2017 09:36

lisara I had bleeding a few times, was always bright red. It was accompanied by some pain as well so they got me in for a scan and all was fine.

rum I'm getting sharp pains as well! I don't remember them from my first pregnancy... but I think it's just the ligaments stretching.

rum fingers crossed baby stays put! Maybe you'll have a quick natural birth before hand, no csection required! That happened to a friend of mine.

mogulfield · 28/09/2017 09:37

That was to amy that last comment!

When did everyone get their whooping cough vaccination? Surgery is saying not yet, but I'm 20 weeks.

AmyB1986 · 28/09/2017 09:46

@mogulfield she’s breech still Confused Midwife in 20 mins. She needs to stay where she is for a bit longer.

I’ve not had the whooping cough vaccine because I didnt have it with dd1 & 2. We can’t have the flu vaccines this year either as Baby won’t be protected against the active virus in my older girls nasal vaccine.

I had sharp horrible pains in my sides in the early stages. Even hurt to press and touch in the painful area. Ligament pain I think. Went off the further I got now just bloody sod flooring me.

Feel really sick at the min.

Brenna24 · 28/09/2017 10:06

I have had a good few sharp pains too. Like pulling a muscle only going from my groin to above my hip. Just round ligament pain for me. The pattern is always very mild cramping as my uterus starts to expand, round ligament pain as it shoots up, then a few more tops don't fit any more as I suddenly get a bit bigger.

@AmyB1986 hope the appointment went well and that baby stays where it is a bit longer...

Can I ask about the flu vaccine thing... I've filled in the forms from school saying my kids have to have them, I didn't realise that could pose a risk to the baby. I assumed we should all get vaccinated as I would be anyway. They haven't had them yet so I think
I still have time to stop it. I wonder if I've missed this in an information booklet somewhere.... will ask the doctor I think. Thanks for giving me the heads up!

AmyB1986 · 28/09/2017 11:29

@itsgoingtoofast how many weeks are you? Our girls school are doing the flu vaccines in the next two weeks. I don’t think it’s a problem if it’s the injection but the nasal sprays have the active virus in them that can be sneezed out and spread more easily where as with the injections it’s only in the urine as it’s expelled. It’s not in any of the info booklets. As I’m going in for my csection in two weeks and Baby will obviously be way too vulnerable we have opted out.

Appointment was ok. Midwife would like me to go into hospital after lunch time for monitoring and a swab to check for amniotic fluid as the discharge is now more watery and sticky plus babies movements have slowed right down this morning. Doing my grocery shopping quickly, DH is finishing work at lunch time and we’re meeting up at the hospital.
Just have to arrange someone to fetch DD’s from school in case I’m in for a while.
Will post an update hopefully detailing lack of progress and babe still in situ

lisara79 · 28/09/2017 11:37

Good luck @amyb1986... Will be thinking of you. Hope all ok. At least you will be well looked after x

Doublechocolatetiffin · 28/09/2017 13:38

Good luck @AmyB1986, I'm glad you're going in to be looked after.

itsgoingtoofast · 28/09/2017 14:00

Good luck @AmyB1986!

I'm only 13 weeks at the moment. Have a consultant appointment now so may as well just ask when I'm in to make sure. Thanks!

AmyB1986 · 28/09/2017 14:46

@itsgoingtoofast I don’t think it’ll be a problem for you. It’s just newborns have no immune system and the advice is to avoid contact with people who have compromised or low immune systems as there is a chance of infection from the vaccine for two weeks. I’ll be having my vaccine injection after the babies here so my breast milk should hopefully give her some immunity then the older girls can have their nasal spray at the drs just a bit later than normal.

No surprise Baby kicked up a fuss as soon as the monitors went on! Not stopped moving. Contractions are there, weak and irregular at the minute. Had the swab, no amniotic fluid but I’m 1-2cm dilated at the min which apparently is normal at this stage and that’s why I’ve lost my plug.
Anyhow they’re keeping me on the monitor for another hour then they’ll more than likely send me home on standby. The maternity ward here is so busy today they’ve actually closed the doors to non emergency patients! My friend is sitting in the theatre lounge waiting for her csection as well!
Poor DH looks so worn out, think he panicked when I told him what the Midwife said. He’s got 3 days left at work then he’s finished for 5 weeks. All on countdown now.
Dd2 has been an emotional wreck the past few days. She keep crying at ‘how cute’ the baby will be. She was standing in her bedroom crying at how nice it is in there.
Dd1 is her typical nonchalant self, seriously not interested. She rubs my belly occasionally and says hi and that’s it. Think deep down she’s probably anxiously waiting and she does get really worried if I have pains or anything.
Told my nana not to tell the girls we’re at the hospital just that we had to pick something up and got stuck in traffic unless we’re expecting an arrival which thankfully we aren’t right now!

Sorry for the ramble

Brenna24 · 28/09/2017 15:17

Mogulfield Coincidentally I have just had a letter from my surgery today about the whooping cough vaccine. They are saying from 16 weeks onwards but have only told me now at 20 weeks. I am going in tomorrow to get it. I don't understand why, if it is 16 weeks, they don't just do it as part of your 16 week appointment with the midwife. They can have it there and ready and if you don't want it fair enough.

Fingers crossed Amy. Tell that wee one to stay put. It is funny, if you are waiting to go into labour, they lounge around forever inside until they are late and if you have a section booked and really can't have them naturally, they can't wait to get out. Contrary little things, aren't they?

mogulfield · 28/09/2017 15:28

brenna thanks, Il give the surgery a call, I'm having my flu vaccine in a few weeks so will see if I can get them both whilst I'm there.

amy hoping baby stays put for you in that case! It's good contractions are irregular.
