Hi, I'm new to the pregnancy board. I've just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd (4 weeks today) and the NHS calculator says all being well I will be due around 12th May.

I couldn't see any threads for May yet - anyone just found out and want to join me?

DS has just turned 7 so I'm a bit rusty on this whole pregnancy thing!

Hey everyone!

Looks like I'm due around May 11th Smile

Last pregnancy ended in miscarriage so very nervous about all signs and symptoms at the moment, but hoping for the best with this one.

Baby dust to all Smile

Can I join? Got our BFP yesterday! NHS calculator says I'm due 16 May, almost on DP's birthday!!

AlexsMum89 · 05/09/2017 10:43

I've got my first obstetrician appointment at 6+1 or 6+5 (not quite sure of date yet)... I'm abroad at the moment and it is private maternity care, so early scans are normal.

Has anyone had an early scan and seen a heartbeat? Also, is there a Facebook group for May babies yet? :)

AlexsMum89 · 05/09/2017 16:16

There is a facebook group, but I'm sneakily on MN whilst at work and I can't share the link from here. You might be able to find it on the antenatal group thread.

I was called yesterday to make my first midwifes appt. Something in my brain from my first pregnancy (a long time ago) says that I should take DH. Is that right? Nothing in the follow up email I've had says I should bring him.

I never went with hubby before and won't be this time. I thought the first one is when they ask medical history and that general sort of stuff? I only ever brought hubby to scans!

smu06set · 05/09/2017 19:39

I haven't even rung the doctors yet! Tbh it doesn't feel real for me at the moment, will probably wait another week or two before ringing them. Assume nothing much happens with the midwife in the first few weeks?

Hey! New-comer alert!
I'm 4 weeks 4 days with dc2. Due 11th May! Found out I'm preg on my birthday - was such a lovely birthday present.

AlexsMum89 · 05/09/2017 19:57

Welcome @Heatherxo ! Ahh what a lovely surprise 😊

My husband only came to scans last time, but he was in the navy then based in Portsmouth so he wasn't here to come with me! He might this time if he's off on my appointments.
They won't give me a booking appointment until 8-10 weeks, so I've got a while yet!
I've had a bump for the last few days 😧 I look about 4 months pregnant!

AlexsMum89 · 06/09/2017 07:39

I look pregnant already too, I need to keep it a secret from work for a couple of months so I'm worried about them noticing!

I feel huge! I go on holiday in a week and I'm a few pounds heavier than I normally am (not baby just overeating in August! 🙈) do you think I'm alright to go for a run? I wouldn't class myself as a great runner but I did use to (prior to August, which turned into the just sit and eat month!) run once or twice a week on top of other exercise! Feel like I don't already want to start off pregnancy feeing crap about myself!

emilyjayne1990 · 06/09/2017 08:07

Oh thank god its not just me 😂 we've told close family but we're wanting to wait to announce it until we go to Disneyland in December! And then we'll know if it's pink or blue too so we can announce both at the same time. We thought it would make our trip a bit more magical!
At least it's big jumper weather coming up! Woohoo!

emilyjayne1990 · 06/09/2017 08:08

P.s I'm not sure about the run, I do no exercise at all, apart from chasing a nearly 2 year old round all day! I did read somewhere if you do 300 squats a day you have an easier labour...so I have considered that 😂

AlexsMum89 · 06/09/2017 09:39

I've been wondering about exercise too. I usually cycle to work every day and run once a week or so but I've had a fat lazy summer and I've stopped cycling to work as it's too dangerous on the roads with a baby on the way now. Not sure what to do, what's ok etc

I'm still doing the same exercises as before I got the BFP...running and weights (dumb bells, so no heavy lifting). I think if you're used to exercise it isn't a bad thing to continue...

My weight gain in my first pregnancy was gigantic (I ate everything I saw and stopped exercising lol), so this time I'm determined to keep it down! KMiddy is my new preggo inspiration ;)

ShonaghMacD85 · 06/09/2017 13:51

5 weeks 3 and so far don't feel any different. Have to keep reminding myself of the + on the pregnancy test. You just can't help but worry these first 12 weeks

Joanna0x · 07/09/2017 12:17

Hey I got a positive result today! Faint but there. All being well due may 18th :)
