She weighed me at my booking appointment and then again at my 12 week scan but she hasn't since

TheLionQueen1 · 28/07/2017 08:04

I got weighed at Booking in app, as I didn't know what I weighed and they will weigh again at 34 or 36 weeks to check BMI. If it's over a certain amount it counts as a risk on our forms. Like MrsJ said, every area is different!

Morning everyone! I'm new here, just found out last night I'm pregnant with our first. According to the calculator I'm 5 weeks but must admit I'm getting a bit confused with how they work your weeks out! Anyway first random question of what I'm sure will be many...can I eat cooked chorizo?! As if tonight won't be surreal enough without having to rethink what I'm cooking! Thanks in advance

TheLionQueen1 · 28/07/2017 08:28

Amyb nothing wrong it's cooked chorizo, check the NHS website for foods to avoid, it was less than I thought and congratulations!

amyb181 · 28/07/2017 08:36

Thank you The Lion Queen (can't work out how to tag you!)! So excited Smile

ScotsLamb · 28/07/2017 10:41

Congratulations Amy. The number of weeks is measured from the start of your last period so you aren't really pregnant for the first two weeks.

Missonhartbaby · 28/07/2017 10:46

Yea I've been weighed a couple times but not everytime, I am in Wales so I dunno if they do things differently. Apparently my next appt (28 weeks) they start measuring my tummy etc so I think it's more important later on in pregnancy to make sure your are putting on the weight as it means that baby is getting all his super cute fat Grin
And congrats @amyb181

amyb181 · 28/07/2017 10:59

@Missonhartbaby @ScotsLamb thank you!

mrsjkerry · 28/07/2017 11:07

@mrskjerry love it! Hahah Grin

ScotsLamb · 28/07/2017 11:54

Loving the picture mrsjkerry. It does feel like that. I go back to work in two weeks and my depute was has known since I was 6 weeks pregnant. He's already moved my due date forward 3 months in his head. Not sure how he will react when I return after 7 weeks with still no real bump!!

NC1990 · 28/07/2017 13:21

I've not been weighed at all at midwife appointments either. So far I've gained a stone @ 24 weeks. As Missonhartbaby said measuring starts from 28 weeks.

Just had my 24-week midwife appointment this morning, love listening to the heartbeat ❤️ My antenatal classes are booked for October, Monday mornings so not ideal but may make Mondays a bit less painful!

I can't remember if it was on here or another thread where we chatted about sleeping bags and what babies should wear with each tog. The Groegg instructions are very helpful.

Someone on the last thread we all had posted a website for pre made maternity bags that were really pretty and well priced but I can't find the site anywhere now... Does anyone know what it was called? Or can send me a link! TIA

Missonhartbaby · 28/07/2017 16:45

Ah found it! For anyone else wondering... thelittlemumtobeco.co.uk/collections/pre-filled-hospital-bags/products/blossom-basic-essentials-package

TheLionQueen1 · 28/07/2017 17:50

That was me Misson! My mum has bought me one, just got to wait until my birthday in August to get it!

Did you get one? They're fab!

Missonhartbaby · 28/07/2017 18:20

@lion ah I thought it may of been you actually! I haven't ordered one yet, waiting untill we've moved house properly and are settled with money and then I think I definitely am! The bags themselves I would spend up to £30 on anyway and it comes with everything you need! So handy! I think I'm just going to go for the basic package though and then put some of my own stuff in, what did you choose?

TheLionQueen1 · 28/07/2017 19:16

Yep I went for the basic, even with that not sure there is much to add! That was my thinking with the bag itself being worth a bit!

ew1990 · 28/07/2017 19:33

Im gunna get one I think, just the basic one too and then add stuff if need be, they were a good find @TheLionQueen1 well done
