@DarcyParty everyone says my bump is small too and at 31 weeks I was measuring 30cm, midwife wasn't worried, I'd try not to worry, I'm not sure about being engaged though xx

mrsjkerry · 18/09/2017 13:15

@TheVoiceOfTreason that sounds normal.

@DarcyParty nothing to worry about. I measured 31 at 32...and this is from measuring 29 at 28! So growth happens in splutters I think. As for baby's head being engaged just means baby is readying for birth. Doesn't mean it's imminent.

Thanks guys, I feel a bit better :) I've finished work now and I'm on 4 weeks holiday that I had to use or lose before I start maternity, so I'm just rattling around the flat and worrying all the time- time to get the knitting out I think!

lydiangel83 · 18/09/2017 13:43

@TheVoiceOfTreason I have my final NCT session 3 wks before due date! And yes it is expensive!!

Missonhartbaby · 18/09/2017 16:45

I only had the option of one full day class with the NHS as I moved house at 30 weeks to a different area completely and it's a week before my due date! Considering g he's measuring big I'm not sure Il be making it!! 🙈

Julesbegone · 18/09/2017 17:33

@TheVoiceOfTreason final session is on 16th Oct and due date 9th Nov! I thought it was cutting it a bit close too.

First session at 7:30pm this evening so I'll let you know if it's shit!

Bobbiepin · 18/09/2017 17:43

@voiceoftreason (great name btw) I've loved NCT so far. Tbh it is expensive but there's much more flexibility than the NHS classes, you set the agenda on what you want. A friend of mine had an EMCS and said she only understood what was going on because of her NCT class. My last session is a month before my due date, I think it depends on how early you book and when the classes are running. I would recommend it though.

@darcyparty don't worry so much, they grow when they want to. Mine was measuring big one week, then smaller for the next too. There's still time. Also definitely ignore anyone making comments about your bump unless they are your midwife, they don't know what they are talking about. Besides, anyone with a bigger bump could be all fluid with a tiny baby and a small bump could be all baby and not much fluid.

Girls I'm knackard today, only day off this week and planned to clean the house top to bottom today, didn't go to plan,

I've got a pain in my ribs and my boobs are killing! I'm honestly thinking about having a pot noodle for tea and then telly in bed Blush

mrsjkerry · 19/09/2017 20:25

@ew1990 I am feeling you. Pot noodle and telly in bed sounds divine. Pain in ribs - baby's foot is in my ribs all the time!!! So annoying isn't it?

I'm about to take myself off to bed. I am so poorly. Last night I was woken by a groaning sound which I realised was coming from my chest. I can't stop coughing and my nose and head are so bunged up. Part of me wonders if it's bronchitis or something. I had a nap after school earlier and honestly when I woke up I felt paralysed. So heavy and tired like I couldn't get up!! I don't know how worried I should be...

The midwife said I should go to the doctor. But that's not because it's dangerous to baby, just for my own health. So it may be a case of waiting it out. How do you recover from a cold when you can't treat any of the symptoms with night nurse etc??

@mrsjkerry poor you! Just try and sleep as much as you can, I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon, just hoping it doesn't mess up my sleep tonight, after this week I'm off for 2 weeks and then only got 1 week left before mat leave,

TheLionQueen1 · 19/09/2017 20:37

@mrsjkerry not the same I know but I had tonsillitis and literally just didn't get out of bed, I just slept and let my body heal. Took paracetamol and there are lots of good throat/nose sprays you can take and lozets were fab, also couldn't stomach food so lots of ice lollies! Hope you start to feel better soon

TheLionQueen1 · 19/09/2017 20:39

@ew1990 get used to the messed up sleep! At week 35 it hit me and every night since pretty much I have been up and downstairs at 3-5am with tea and toast! Fortunately I am on mat leave now so manage to nap during the day! Think for me baby is wriggling so much at night but also as it gets so close, think I'm subconsciously worrying too!

ew1990 · 19/09/2017 20:42

Baby is definitely more active at night when I'm trying to sleep, I've just got out of the bath and she's not stopped since, I wake up every night with my top soaked from leaky boobs, it's too uncomfy to wear any sort of bra for breastpads so I just keep a spare tshirt next to bed

mrsjkerry · 19/09/2017 21:02

Lucky lucky you @ew. How many weeks are you now? I'm taking mat leave from 37 weeks but it seems sooooooo far away.

OP posts:
ew1990 · 19/09/2017 21:07

I'm 32+3 weeks now, I'll be 36+2 when mat leave starts

mrsjkerry · 19/09/2017 21:19

Well after this week only four weeks until half term. Honestly can't come soon enough.

OP posts:
ew1990 · 19/09/2017 21:30

Tell me about it, my hours got changed from 3 shifts at 7-7:30 to 4 shifts at 8:30-5:30 and I'm still finding it hard, my hips and back hurt now I can't wait to not have to be on my feet all day

mrsjkerry · 19/09/2017 22:14

Oh god that does suck. At least I'm sat down most of the day now. But open evening next week is not going to be fun...a9pm finish and you're on your feet all evening talking to parents 😩

Hey, just wondering if anyone on here knows if primark newborn clothes are known to be particularly big or small? I'm hoping they may be abit bigger than other newborn clothes as I'm looking at having a fairly chunky baby and the newborn clothes have all been washed now!! But I think alot of the them were primark and I'm sure someone's told me before they are quite generous!

ew1990 · 20/09/2017 19:50

@Missonhartbaby I haven't had any clothes from primary so wouldn't like to say, I did go the other day and totally forgot to look at their baby section!!

@MSH2010 how are you and the twins? Are they home yet?

@MistyBxx how are you doing? X

ew1990 · 20/09/2017 19:52

Meant to say primark

MSH2010 · 20/09/2017 20:06

We are home. They finally came home Thursday evening last week aged 4 weeks and 2 days. They were 5 weeks old yesterday 😍 it's taking time getting my routine in place but they're feeding every 3 hours and doing fab. Twin 1 was born weighing 4lb5 he's now 6lb1!!

ew1990 · 20/09/2017 20:34

Aww @MSH2010 I'm so happy for you, Flowers

Missonhartbaby · 20/09/2017 20:54

Massive congrats!!!! @MSH2010 So happy for you :)

Missonhartbaby · 20/09/2017 20:54

@ew1990 I had just picked up. Some sleep suits etc from there for cheap in newborn but I doubt they'll fit now!
