Oops time for a new thread. Hope you all find it okay Grin

@lydiangel83 I'm nearly 26 weeks, it was probably 20ish weeks when it improved because I remember I first felt baby move at 18 weeks and I was sleeping in the spare room because I was so fidgety and frustrated that night so it was after 18 weeks!

@LucyLugosi you take it one day at a time. I'm still even a little surprised sometimes when I go to the toilet and there's no blood! Once you've seen heartbeat and as each week passes you relax a little

LucyLugosi · 01/06/2017 21:12

Thanks guys! Hopefully I'll see a heartbeat at my follow up in 3 weeks time and then I'll feel better.

I am totally symptom free at the moment which adds to the worry I think!

ew1990 · 01/06/2017 22:07

@LucyLugosi I was symptom free too apart from sore boobs and felling like I was going to come on, enjoy your pregnancy coz trust me it flys, I'm 17 week on Saturday and can't believe how fast it's going xxx

ValentineFizz · 01/06/2017 22:11

@LucyLugosi, I felt exactly the same, had very few symptoms 1st trimester which made me worry just as much as having symptoms would! A wee bit nausea but really no sickness, just extreme tiredness and as said above I still feel surprised to still be here - 17 weeks today.... Just take it day by day until next scan, take care of yourself and look forward to seeing baby on that screen Smile

mrsjkerry · 01/06/2017 22:26

Got my gender scan on Saturday. Really want to know now!! Have been looking up all the old wives tales and I'm right in the middle for everything so really 50-50 😭

Jessiecat27 · 02/06/2017 08:50

Mrsjkerry that's so exciting! We had a scan yesterday and she wasn't too sure so we're going back next week when the lady who does the actual gender scans is back off holiday, but we think we have an idea! I'm still torn, I've checked all of the theories as well and by the looks of it, this one is going to be both! Haha

Icantthinkofastupidname · 02/06/2017 10:12

Anyone using any special pillows? I've just ordered one of these; www.sanggol.co.uk/products/sanggol-maternity-pillow-pregnancy-pillow-nursing-pillow-body-pillow-with-free-cotton-pillow-case

I'm only 6w1d but I've always been a rubbish sleeper tossing and turning and it's getting worse and I'm starting to get an achey back.

Next purchase will be primark for a couple of cheap bras the next size up to tide me over to 12 weeks where I'll get measured properly and get some decent ones. Don't want to spend a fortune yet as I know I'll be forever changing shape and size but my trusty 34b's are feeling a little tight under bust so I think I'll try a 36c.

Nausea seems to be getting stronger every day, I've been off work this week so it's been fine, but I'm dreading going in next week if it continues to ramp up!

Thankfully I work in a school so only 7 weeks then 6 weeks off. That will be heaven! On a related note, assuming the midwife will ask about my work, does being in a school where there might be more bugs floating around put me at any risk?

TheLionQueen1 · 02/06/2017 10:26

I was looking at pregnancy pillows last night actually; was going to ask if anyone already had and reviews, can you let us know if it's any good?!

I've had to go to non underwired bras and end up taking it off most evenings which I never do, but the pain it was causing my back was mad, need a new one again already!

TheLionQueen1 · 02/06/2017 10:27

Sorry sent without finishing! The MW will let you know what to look out for, I run a youth group with kids (so not as much exposure) but she explained the dangers of slapped cheek and chick pox etc. Slapped cheek seems to be the main one to look out for!

Icantthinkofastupidname · 02/06/2017 10:39

It should be here tomorrow so I'll report back after the weekend :).

As its a secondary school I'm assuming those are more common with younger children so hopefully won't be as much of a risk.

I've been using sports bras this week while I've been off which has been pretty good!

Jessiecat27 · 02/06/2017 10:48

Don't get one of those small wedges, mine isn't doing much for me! I didn't like the L shaped one either though! I've just bought some non-wired lace bralets from primark because they're cheap and I thought if they don't last long it won't matter too much. Haven't tried them yet so I don't know how comfortable they are!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2017 10:51

What pillows would you recommend? I'm looking at some now!

QuestionARhino · 02/06/2017 11:07

I got a wedge for under the bump, but bump is getting pretty big now and I'm a front sleeper so keep trying to roll onto my front out of habit and this helps stop that. I got a dreamgenii(sp?) to begin with but it wasn't enough between my legs to keep my hips open so now I've got the long end of the DG along my back, bump wedge at the front and a funny shaped memory foam wedge between my legs for my hips. I'll attach a photo. It took all 3 to start sleeping properly, but now that it's getting warmer it's getting to be too much 😑 especially the knee pillow - the cover is so warm!

Bra wise, I got some cotton sports bras from Asda to start off with, my boobs grew first so I was in them by 7 weeks 😔 I fully intended to get measured and buy proper bras in 2nd trimester and here I am, nearly in 3rd trimester, still wearing them 😅 they're so comfy. Blush

Could not get out of bed this morning and am working from home today thank goodness. Think I have a virus / fever as have headache and feel sick and just fell down last few stairs and hurt my back :( luckily bump fine as it was my backside that took the hit but still shaken up. We have a quiet night tonight but BBQ for 20 ppl tomorrow and house is a state, food shopping to be done etc. DH will do a lot but I still need to help :-/

Icantthinkofastupidname · 02/06/2017 11:13

I like something that is slightly padded as I have the fear of protruding nipples which would be inappropriate I'm a school! I don't think I've seen any sports bras which offer that :(.

Not sure if this pillow will work when I get really fat, but hopefully it'll keep me comfortable for now.

Anyone else eating their body weight in toast? I'm all about the beige food at the moment and I'm addicted to toast. I don't think my nausea is bad enough for dry crackers yet, I need the moisture from the buttery toast. Mmmmm. Thankfully I have a toaster at work so I think I'll be good. Toast for breakfast, maybe I'll stretch to beans and little sausages on toast for lunch :)

Squigglefish · 02/06/2017 13:00

I'm sat eating chips and gravy at my desk! I can't get enough carbs.

Brens13 · 02/06/2017 13:04

I ate pretty much just toast for a week a couple of weeks ago. I'm now going through the not ever feeling particularly hungry stage, but eating staves off any waves of nausea, but because I'm not that hungry I'm just picking at bad stuff. Bought myself some grapes this week to try and replace some of the crisps!

lydiangel83 · 02/06/2017 13:13

I ate my body weight in toast and pasta for about 3 or 4 weeks don't worry about it :)

ew1990 · 02/06/2017 14:04

Cheeseburger for me today, got a side salad to make me feel better xxx

lydiangel83 · 02/06/2017 16:39

Lasagna and chocolate for my lunch today yum yum (not together lol!)

Icantthinkofastupidname · 02/06/2017 17:02

I had toast, of course. Then a while later I had black pepper and cheddar thins. I tried them with hummus but that made me feel rank so I ended up just snacking on them dry.

Out for a birthday tonight, I think the bar does decent mocktails so I'm looking forward to that. There's also nibbles on including nachos. My mouth is watering thinking of those nachos! Yum!

Just bought a book for my MIL; www.amazon.co.uk/Your-First-Grandchild-first-time-grandparents/dp/0722536984?tag=mumsnetforum-21. Hoping when I go for my early private scan (at 8+4) the picture will be decent enough to put inside as I'm not sure I can hold off til 12 weeks!

QuestionARhino · 02/06/2017 17:28

I bloody love nachos 🤤

Here's what my 7+3 scan looked like if that helps 😕 I'd consider waiting til 12 weeks. I know how hard that sounds! But it'll look more like a lil baby by then.

Difference between 7 weeks and 12 weeks!

3 people made a comment about the size of my baby bump yesterday (FYI "are there 2 in there?" has become my least favourite comment)! It had me looking online today at baby bumps between week 21-22 and isn't is so bizarre how different people can look at the same stage! Some people have huge bumps and others don't even look pregnant!
