Oops time for a new thread. Hope you all find it okay Grin

@lydiangel83 I'm nearly 26 weeks, it was probably 20ish weeks when it improved because I remember I first felt baby move at 18 weeks and I was sleeping in the spare room because I was so fidgety and frustrated that night so it was after 18 weeks!

@ew1990 @TheLionQueen1 do you have a regular midwife? I'm seen by someone different every time. Don't think I've seen the same person at all!

TheLionQueen1 · 22/07/2017 15:17

I did have a regular for my first 4 or 5 appointments, she said she would be with us all the way through but she is leaving to work at the birthing centre where we want to have baby, so actually might be nice if she is there when we go in!

ew1990 · 22/07/2017 15:24

@mrsjkerry my doctors have there own midwife from the hospital who does every Wednesday there, I have emergency numbers too but don't like bothering them with something daft so would rather just text midwife.

mrsjkerry · 22/07/2017 15:39

Wow. My doctors aren't involved at all. They wouldn't even refer me to the hospital I had to do it myself. And there's about 30 midwives and I see any one of them! I don't have a midwife I can text! If I had a question I'd have to phone the hospital switch board and ask for the whole maternity department! Which basically means I've never really asked any questions just googled stuff!

TheLionQueen1 · 22/07/2017 15:54

I can't text a MW I would have to call too. The appointments are close enough that I just save my questions and ask. I would call if I had any concerns though!

ew1990 · 22/07/2017 16:22

I feel really lucky now, although the time I did have to get in touch with my midwife (when I had the bleed at ten week) she never answered and I just went to a&e. Hope everyone's feeling ok today, I slept for like 13 hours last night after doing a twelve and half hour shift 😂

lydiangel83 · 22/07/2017 16:34

@mrsjkerry my experience sounds like yours and it is tough, I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and yet there are no health professionals to ask! Sadly I think too many cuts means no integrated service and lots of gaps that patients have to fill!

ValentineFizz · 22/07/2017 18:06

Hi all, I think each area is different depending on health board etc. I was given my MATB1 certificate at 22 week MW appointment, I see same MW every 6 weeks and she's based in my GP surgery, but have all sorts of local maternity unit numbers to call if required in emergency (SW Scotland) .....

Hope everyone is starting to feel better, and enjoying the weekend - I had a mega-sleep last night (until lunchtime today 😄!) and feeling great for it!

24+2 today ☺

mrsjkerry · 22/07/2017 19:22

I am sooooo tired. Last night we went to watch the X factor auditions and didn't get home until 1AM. I think also because it was the last day of the school year it totally wiped me out! Slept until 2PM today 😄

We've just been down to BabiesRUs and bought some clothes and a Moses basket ❤️

ew1990 · 22/07/2017 19:27

I didn't get up till 1:30pm, we all must have needed it, I'm counting down till the 16th of October for mat leave 😂 I've got a week off in august too and 2 week at the end of September

TheLionQueen1 · 22/07/2017 19:55

I've just started third trimester and am knackered! Yes Ew, I'm on the count down too, less than 8 weeks left! I'm starting mat leave on 8th September, bring it on!

Are you on summer hols now then MrsJ? Very jealous!!

mrsjkerry · 22/07/2017 20:11

Yes I am!! 6 weeks off and then 5-6 weeks of work in September and then baby is here. Breaking It down like that helps!

ew1990 · 22/07/2017 20:57

I'm 24 weeks today and yesterday when I woke up I just felt like my belly had popped, my stretchy tops aren't covering bump anymore.

I went to work yesterday after a week off and not one person said I was small 😂😂

lydiangel83 · 23/07/2017 07:55

I'm around 10 weeks of work left with one week of holiday and then a few weeks of mat leave then baby arrives. Work is rubbish so am loving that I know it will end soon!

ScotsLamb · 23/07/2017 11:06

3 weeks of summer hol. 8 weeks work. 1 week off. 10 weeks work then 3 days until baby!
Very jealous of people with annual leave to take before.
Do any teachers know if you can take accrued annual leave before baby is born so mat leave starts when baby is born?

mrsjkerry · 23/07/2017 11:32

What on earth is accrued annual leave? I get no annual leave as a teacher due to the built in holidays that are automatically in the calendar.

ScotsLamb · 23/07/2017 12:30

I accrue holidays on a one day work to 0.225 holiday. These are then used to pay for the 40 days holidays and the other "school holiday" school closure days. On maternity leave you still get the 40 days but not sure how they are spread through the year.
I think I need to post my original question in main pregnancy bit.

mrsjkerry · 23/07/2017 15:04

Oh right that's interesting. My school doesn't work like that. I just get no annual leave but automatic holidays. If I need a day off it has to be for a good reason: wedding, funeral, moving day etc. So if I took maternity leave over summer that would count just as much as if I took it over term time. For that reason I'll go back to work the week before the summer holidays next year so that I get paid for the summer holidays and those 6 weeks off don't count as maternity leave!

mrsjkerry · 23/07/2017 15:37

We need a new thread!!

ew1990 · 23/07/2017 16:12

Can anyone make one and post a link here? I'm on the app so can't post link
