Hi all. This heat is also getting to me. I am now 14+2 and haven’t felt ill in a long time until today when I was in the tube and wondering if I should get off the train to go get sick…

@Presh1234, I think the GP would tell you to wait one cycle but that’s for dating purposes. No reason not to start right away though if you are feeling up to it. I would just be careful that you don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I remember wanting to ‘replace’ the baby I lost as soon as possible but I also wanted to properly mourn the baby I also lost. Like everyone already said, please be gentle to yourself and give yourself space to heal.

@beanhunter my morning sickness also used to come and go although I admit I did find getting sick strangely reassuring. But it is normal for them to come and go.

Congrats @AnUtterIdiot! How big is your bump with two babies in there?

I am little a little bit in limbo these last few days. Only my DH and I know about this pregnancy; we have told absolutely nobody. Not family and not friends. I insisted because I wanted to go past the 12 week scan. But then after the scan I freaked myself out again and now think we should wait until 16 weeks. With each passing day I genuinely think another MC will happen and I don’t want anyone being excited yet. Does that make sense? I don’t know what to do…

Fingers crossed that your scan is all ok tomorrow @Yellowfrontdoor

NoParticularPattern · 20/06/2017 21:36

Pleased to hear your scan news anutteridiot!! Have you got a proper bump with there being two?! Twin pregnancies fascinate me!!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow yellow.

It's a lot cooler here today so it's been much mor comfortable. The only problem being that I managed to eat something this evening, which has now given me hideous stomach ache and that horrible sicky feeling again. I know I'm being an ungrateful cow, but I'm really not enjoying this. I absolutely hate being ill and I absolutely cannot cope with being sick. I wish it was like when you're hungover and being sick makes you feel better but I get the feeling that if I start I'll never stop haha!! Currently laid on the sofa watching One Born trying to a) not be sick and b) get rid of this awful bellyache haha!

Hope everyone else has had a good day!

mammabear4 · 20/06/2017 22:03

Congrats utter!! Mine are DC/DA too, fab news for us as that's considered the safest type of twin pregnancy 👍😊
My 12 week scan is a week tomorrow, I'm so excited now!
How is your bump coming along?? Mine is definitely noticeable - I wore a more fitted dress today and was teaching in Y6, one of the girls went "er Miss are you pregnant?" I said yes thanks for noticing! Was a bit like thank god I actually am cos I'm in such a grey area atm could easily have just been fat 😂 but I guess it is all centred around my stomach!!

Thank god for this cooler weather!! Sending lots of sympathy to those suffering with sickness, mine has been horrendous for the past 3 weeks but not (MAJOR touch wood) it seems to be disappearing. Phew!!

Sweety how are you doing has the bleeding tapered off? Mine seems to have gone altogether now after weeks of scares, I'm hoping that pesky hematoma is gone once and for all!

Hey @mammabear4 how you've been? Bleeding comes & goes, called midwife she said NOT to worry but if i do i can go any wed to see her & she will check the heartbeat. I think im just worrying no reason but you can understand why after 3 miss its too good to be true. Cant keep my excitement tho.

Miami81 · 21/06/2017 05:33

@JCleRoux
You have described to a tee how I feel about telling people. We are 13+2, had dating scan and combined test on last Wednesday. Mw assured me if I was high risk of ds we would hear by early this week. So have decided now to assume that all ok. Loads of people knew anyway as I needed support to get through the awful first weeks. But now I feel like a fraud. I mean I know I am pregnant I have seen the baby 4 times now, but I still feel like anything could happen and that the fewer people know the better. I don't trust my body to send me the right signals about what is going on, after two mmc I just feel that with no scan I can't know for certain. But I can't scan every week for reassurance as the scans also make me so anxious before that I feel physically ill.
So today I am pregnant. He/she is called buddy currently and is in there growing at an incredible rate. I have to try to accept that I can't know everything is ok, but it's really hard.

grainmum · 21/06/2017 08:35

Great news re the two sets of DCDA twins that must be something of a relief for you both.

To those in that in between stage from 12 to 20 weeks, sympathies. There's not much going on, and until movements start and become regular and reliable it's hard to believe all is ok. Nothing will remove the doubt in your head, but when you get those thoughts I found it helpful to concentrate on the here and now and the evidence you have I.e none that there is anything wrong.

I ended up at maternity assessment on Sunday morning as the amniotic fluid I'm losing changed from clear to pink/blood stained. They got in a slight panic as they initially thought baby's heart rate was same as mine (I was quite calm about this as it had been moving about so much so didn't believe it could be really struggling). Anyway when they actually found it it was fine and they weren't too bothered about pink fluid. However one of my blood tests for infection was up slightly. They let me home Sunday afternoon and I have to check my temp 4 times daily, and had bloods repeated yesterday and seeing consultant/scan today.

Also re-evaluating my work plans. Currently 28 weeks. Phoned in sick for this week, then I have 2 weeks annual leave which will take me to 31 weeks. My plan had been to go to 35. I'll see what they say today but will almost definitely bring it forward, or even not go back. It does have an impact at the other end in terms of childcare for my DS next summer hols.

Anyway, have a good Wednesday everyone. Hope you are all getting a chance to enjoy the weather a little too.

yellowfrontdoor · 21/06/2017 10:47

Had the scan, exactly 7 weeks today! Saw a really strong little heartbeat. Because my mc was a bit later on I'm going back in 2 weeks for another check.
So happy & reassured for maybe 3 days!

beanhunter · 21/06/2017 11:08

Great news yellow.
My cramping has gone and had a lovely day of not feeling sick so had big fat takeaway last night. Nausea back today though which is reassuring. Should hopefully get a scan next weds/Thurs

theotherendofthesockportal · 21/06/2017 12:32

Great news @yellowfrontdoor 😊

NoParticularPattern · 21/06/2017 13:51

That's fantastic news yellow!! Super pleased for you.

I am still struggling with nausea over here and a lack of desire to eat anything at all- I really have to talk myself into fancying anything!! Midwife appointment tomorrow which I've never managed to get to before so fingers crossed we continue this trend!!

mogulfield · 21/06/2017 15:30

Can I join ladies?
I have had 2 MCs in the last (1 MMC, 1 healthy DS- now 2 yo, and then a Normal MC).
Am currently pregnant, I think about 5-6 weeks and am so paranoid! Haven't booked in with the midwife yet as I don't want to book in and then have to call and say I've MC'ed... I know I need to though!!

peachgreen · 21/06/2017 16:54

I've got brown bleeding and really bad dizziness today. So frightened that I'm miscarrying again.

Hazandduck · 21/06/2017 17:33

Ah peach can you phone your midwife or local EPU? The dizziness can probably be attributed to this heat! Hope you're ok. Keep drinking water x

peachgreen · 21/06/2017 17:43

Thanks Haz. Called my (lovely) GP who booked me in at the EPU on Friday afternoon. Just a nervous wait until then. My husband has just made me drink a big glass of water! Trying to stay positive but it's hard.

beanhunter · 21/06/2017 19:07

Peach everything crossed. Can you not get seen tomorrow? How far along are you?

Ladies I've had persistent pain on my right side today - feels like previous ovarian cysts. It's not bad but it's constant. Do I need to be worried about things like ectopic? I'm only 5+4 so sure nobody would scan me yet?

peachgreen · 21/06/2017 19:25

Bean No, they're fully booked - and I guess because they know it's not ectopic I'm not a priority (which is fair enough). DH keeps googling and saying it's because I'd be on my period about now, or because the placenta is attaching etc etc - but I'm so worried. :(

mogulfield · 21/06/2017 19:40

Good luck peach it's so hard when it's early on and youve MC before, fc for you.
Anytime I think I feel slightly more 'moist' down there I rush off to check it's not blood.
How far along are you?

peachgreen · 21/06/2017 20:08

mogul 8+4 today. We had positive scans at 6+5 and 7+3 (I have a cyst that they're monitoring) but I saw a heartbeat with my previous pregnancy too and still had a MMC.

CharlieWeasley · 21/06/2017 20:37

Sweety it must be so worrying for you. Lovely of your midwife to offer that reassurance though.

11+5 today. Scan on Friday and I'm petrified. All the way through I haven't really thought it'd work out, but things went on. Was determined I didn't want an early scan as with my first MC I had the whole 'there's only a sac, your dates could be wrong, off you go for 2 weeks and then we'll check again' and I couldn't cope with that. Me and dh have been buying our heads in the sand but now it's so close.

yellowfrontdoor · 21/06/2017 21:23

Peach if it's brown could it be old blood from your cervix? Are you in pain?

Hope how worrying. Will be sending you positive thoughts until Friday Flowers

CharlieWeasley · 21/06/2017 21:33

Peach worrying is understandable. Could the dizziness be the heat?
