lazyemma · 03/04/2007 08:57

oh, whoops! Cross post, geordie. Well, that's a shame.

geordiemacminx · 03/04/2007 09:02

my sister went to see razorlight last night - said they were fantastic!

its a shame t in the park isnt at strathclyde park anymore as you can see it rom my house [sad}

weeonion · 03/04/2007 09:10

gmm - found that out this mornign as well and i think they have a bloody cheek to charge full price tockets forteh 5 - 16 yr olds as well!

t-in-the-park - not so sure i fancy sharing my weekend with tennets filled neds??

looks like it coudl be us just banging soem drums in a par somewhere then??

OP posts:
geordiemacminx · 03/04/2007 09:35

Yeah but if it was at the bottom of the road, the we could have just gone for the bits that we liked and skipped all the neds!!!

Would have loved to have seen fatboy slim up at loch ness - but I guess I'm probably alone in that!!!

Other thing with indian summer is that once you are in thats it - no re-admittance which is rubbish!!!

Right I'm off to my "breastfeeding workshop" - FOR 3 HOURS!!! JUST HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE????

On the plus side I shall be meeting bananasarny - so although we all havent met properly yet, we are starting to put faces to names!!!

Vio · 03/04/2007 10:25

Hi everyone! mum has arrived and the weather has been very good since she landed..took her to a few places and the city centre yesterday..had a good time..lts been nearly a year since i left HK.

Anyway, saw my midwife, she said baby isnt engaged yet but no worries cos some baby dont engage until you are in labour!!

Getting nervous now cos due date is 22 Apr...!

midnightexpress · 03/04/2007 12:09

D'oh, dopey mare (me I mean), what I really wanted to know was the atmosphere at the Connect festival, not Indian Summer - anyone been before? Suitable for little nippers?

WO - lol at idea of you banging drums in the park. I'll bring a dog on a string and some patchouli oil.

GMM - hope it was 3 hours well spent - it's all a bit abstract until the LO arrives though, isn't it? Dollies just not quite the same.

lazyemma · 03/04/2007 13:14

I think Connect might be a new festival, midnight - I haven't heard of it before, anyway. I checked the FAQs on the site and it says no under 5s, though. Shame, as it does look good. I think there's a growing trend amongst music lovers away from enormo-festivals like T in The Park towards these smaller more low-key gatherings. Connect calls itself a "boutique festival" which sounds a bit wanky but gives you an idea of how they're marketing it.

midnightexpress · 03/04/2007 16:20

Does sound a bit wanky, doesn't it, but my bf swears by the Big Chill, which sounds quite similar. Anyway, all hypothetical if they don't allow little kiddiwinks. Hey ho. Another one to add to the 'to do once they grow up a bit' list.

geordiemacminx · 03/04/2007 16:31

we'll just have to have our own little baby fest one day in someones back garden or at the park - ha strathcylde park, take a bbq and the babies and some music - it'll be great!!!

Met up with bananasarny this morning, can vouch that she isnt some hairy biker pretending to be a pregnanat lady!!!

Loulee · 03/04/2007 17:21

i know some of the festivals (usually the smaller alternative ones) allow under5's - green man festival and wickerman festival def do as friends have taken their kids. -and glastonbury (but maybe too far away.....)! There's also traquair fair on the east coast, but I don't know much about it and think it's more "fair" than music....

isn't the weather GORGEOUS btw!

Loulee · 03/04/2007 17:26

was just looking at the big chill - looks good and Low are playing who i love. Dorset in august for me though just aint going to happen!

Vio · 03/04/2007 17:29

Yes loulee, weather is absolutely Gorgeous! am loving it.

midnightexpress · 03/04/2007 20:55

Mmmm, so lucky to be on ML instead of cooped up in an office in this lovely sunshine. Spent the afternoon eating strawberries with DS1 while we pottered round the park and ds2 snoozed in the buggy. .

GMM, your mini-fest sounds like a good idea to me. Glastonbury schmastonbury! Who needs festivals when you've got WO and her bongos? Loulee - I think the Big Chill guys do a mini-festival in Glasgow called the Wee Chill - it's been on one of the Bank Hols at the Glasshouse in Queen's Park the past coulpe of years: not quite the same as a lovely country house with fairy lights in the trees though, I grant you.

trixymalixy · 04/04/2007 22:01

This thread is funny there's no activity for ages and then a flurry of chatting!

How fab is the weather!!

I came back roasting from a walk to the shops in the morning and then spent the afternoon n the garden with a friend and her LO. I'm going to have to go and get DS a sun hat tomorrow!

The connect festival sounds fantastic, pity LOs aren't allowed.

weeonion · 04/04/2007 22:12

we could take over the hidden gardens, put up some fairy lights, light soem candles and crank up the i-pods for our own mini-festival. must have a baby in a tie-dyed babygro to get in tho'!

trixy - hey - how you doing??

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 04/04/2007 23:23

Hi WO, I'm getting on fine thanks. DS is generally up just once in the night now and then up at about 7.30ish which isn't too bad, so getting a bit more sleep. I'm feeling a lot less anxious as well!

how are you getting on? are you on mat leave now?

bananasarny · 05/04/2007 17:07

Ha Ha am pregnant and hairy but not a biker!! Actually strange thing, has anybody noticed that hair has stopped growing on their legs? Or really slowed down, apparently this can happen! Hope it stays that way, no more waxing!

weeonion · 06/04/2007 06:59

goo dmorning folk s- hope you are all well. anothr nice day for scotland - i cant believe how beaut is has been for those of us off on mat leave. it must be lovely for the ones with new babies ( anf other wee ones ) to be able to be out and baouot and for teh impatient mums to be - a chance to bag some ealry rays. my freckles are out in force tho' - hmmmmmmmmmm.

banana - glad to hear you are not a hairy biker and yep - i def need to shave the legs less. my skin in general feels so soft - either all the papmering baths or hormones???

have a lovely easter - who will be the next to have a boucing baby on this thread - liath? lazyemma? me? vio? geordie? i think we have 3 boys and 1 girl due out of that lot - not sure what lazyemma is having?

OP posts:
lazyemma · 06/04/2007 08:24

My leghair has stopped growing too - I last shaved my legs nearly two months ago, and I shaved them again yesterday (along with a discreet trim of the lady garden) as I thought I should make a bit of an effort for the old trip to the labour ward. God knows why, it's not like anyone will care.

weeonion - I don't know what I'm having either, but the consensus is: boy.

Loving the weather too. Even went a bit pink yesterday! I've been more freckly than usual anyway (think it's something to do with being preg - they've cropped up in all sorts of unusual places, like the underside of my boobs) but they've totally taken over now.

Loulee · 06/04/2007 12:31

Lazyemma, talking of ladygardens, remembered a thread i read last year - makes great reading on grooming etiquette!
-and it looks like someone has re-opened ther thread just the other day.

the thread is here

lazyemma · 06/04/2007 12:44

Loulee, that thread has been making me laugh and laugh. Especially shazza4 and her reverse mohawk, and LovelyKay - who describes herself as a chubby, baby-faced Matt Lucas type - "with no pubic hair, the general impression was of an enormous child with a terrible ageing disorder"!

Loulee · 06/04/2007 14:37

The Matt Lucas / oversized baby was my favourite bit too!!! Hilarious!

weeonion · 06/04/2007 19:07

speaking of which - i pay heed to mine now on a daily basis as it is one area that doesnt seem to have expereinced the same slow down!

geordiemacminx · 06/04/2007 19:10

weeonion · 06/04/2007 19:19
