Vio · 23/03/2007 13:34

oh dear -anjo...since you havent been on for a while i figured you must be v.busy looking after your baby. I can now visualize that..you know..lack of sleep thats why i have taken you all new mums advice...have been v.lazy ....think i sleep probably 10 hours a day..lol..

WO-i'm also v.looking forward to the birth..i am nervous but i also think i will be fine cos i think i am well prepared...4 weeks to go now so really not long..Hey, i may see you in the hospital since our due date are so close!!!

yeah,a meet up will be good !!

trixymalixy · 23/03/2007 21:31

Everyone's coming out of the woodwork now!!

I am definitely up for a meet up. Would maybe prefer a day midweek tho as we will all be on mat leave, I don't know what everyone else thinks...?

WO and Vio, I actually enjoyed giving birth. It was sore, but nowhere near as bad as I expected. I had my TENS machine on for hours and being in the water definitely helped and the gas and air was fab, wish i could have taken a canister home!

I think the key is to relax, there's no point worrying about pain as if it gets too much then they can take it all away

trixymalixy · 23/03/2007 21:32

Oh actually is the mile for maude thing not on the 12th of May, we could meet up then?

trixymalixy · 23/03/2007 21:33

Vio, I am so so at your 10 hours sleep a day!!

weeonion · 24/03/2007 11:18

morning folks - what a beaut sunny day out there! reminds us all that spring is here and summer is round the corner!

trixy - thank you for what you said about labour and it not being so bad. i am gonna keep you in mind on the day this bubba is coming

in my pg fog - had forgotten about mile for maud. hopefully up for that on teh 12th then? anyone have more info on it??

also - a mid week would be agood idea as we are all on leave? what about wed 23rd may then?? if it is good weather - how do fold feel about a park - bit offresh air??

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/03/2007 14:25

Hey everyone,
Hope all well. Meet-up sounds good (not sure if will have started mat leave then though) but mile for maud will be out for me - just been diagnosed with pubic symphisis dysfunction.GP has signed me off for 4 weeks. Anyone else had this? Heard it's pretty common. Seems I need physio and will have to wear a corset!?!?!?!? Walking and climbing stairs are painful but feel OK in myself so feeling a bit of a fraud in being off work. Still the extra rest is good. And maybe I can finally now get around to buying all the baby stuff I will need.

Didn't see you at yoga today, Loulee. Hope you OK?

midnightexpress · 24/03/2007 19:22

23rd May sounds good to me - but then I don't have many plans beyond about next Friday at the moment. And definitely up for a park, weather permitting. This Spring sunshine is just the business isn't it?

Poor you Tallulah with SPD. I think Maureen has some tips for this doesn't she? I had a wee bit of pain towards the end of last pg, but can't really offer any advice - it wasn't bad enough to need any kind of treatment. But make the most of the time off to take it easy and put your feet up.

weeonion · 24/03/2007 20:58

tulla - i was diagnosed with this around 22 weeks but to be honest - i dont think i had it that bad. i did get a lovely (?)belt to wear which never really seen the light of day! i do have it if you want it. the physio was great - more of what not to do - keep those knees together, wear silky/ satiny nighties as its easier to slide around and out of bed.

great - hopefully we can go for a meeet up on teh 23rd - even if it is only a small group to start with then - we can plan more days later.

walked about 4 miles today - very slowly tho i actually thought i was heading on at a pretty impressive pace til dp pointed out that we had barely gained any ground in 15 mins! started to get really strong braxton hicks and then some mild periodlike pains low down. dont want this wee one to make an apprearance just yet - to much to get done so gonna try and take it easy tonight!

hope you are all well!!

trixymalixy · 24/03/2007 23:23

ooh, that's how my labour started WO!!!

Vio · 26/03/2007 11:53

hello everyone. what a lovely day again! really love it when the weather is good.

Just came back from my antenatal check up...discussed with my midwife re-GBS. she reassured me that theres nothing to worry about as even if i am indeed a carrier, the baby might not pick up anything or if he does then theres usually some signs which the midwife can tell that the baby has picked up the virus and they will then give the baby antibiotics...so i am less worried now.

im 36wks now and my boy is already in a head down position....i really cannot wait any longer!

WO-hope you are well, i can see why you dont want your wee one to come out now cos i will be really surprised if my labour starts now...lol

anyway, meet up will be good but i guess for me, i can only say for sure if i can make it 23may after the wee one is born...

Loulee · 26/03/2007 14:23

Hi all,
Tallulah - thanks, yes I'm fine - went to a school re-union on saturday! but should be there next week.
Poor you with psd, i have never had it, but something similar where my hip joints become very painful - nd they don't know what it is...
Do find that the yoga really helps though.
I'd probably be up for a meet-up depending on dates/venue etc - don't think i can do mile for maude though...
Vio, glad your minds been put at rest

lazyemma · 26/03/2007 15:57

hello everyone

I don't post much but often check in to see how you're all doing. I'm due on April 7th so less than two weeks to go: yikes! I've been mostly occupying myself today by reading horror stories about inductions, which has triggered a mammoth bouncing-on-gym-ball session this afternoon. I'm going to try to go for a walk every day too.

Also bought some raspberry leaf tablets finally. Hope I haven't left it too late for them to have any effect.

geordiemacminx · 26/03/2007 16:23

hey emma and everyone else!!

Where is it you live again?

I bought my raspberry tea tablets at the weekend, only had the 900mg ones though.. still I'm sure they wont do any harm!!!

It really is a loely time of year to be on mat leave, had a load of baby clothes on the washing line this morning, they looked soooo cute!!!

Keep thinking about packing my hospital bag... but at the moment its still all sitting in the cot!!!!

lazyemma · 26/03/2007 16:28

I was living in Glasgow but we moved to Tayport in Fife at the beginning of February.

Shamefully, I haven't packed my hospital bag either - I really need to get my arse in gear. I've got most things, I think - I just need to get them all in the same place!

geordiemacminx · 26/03/2007 16:39

just after I worte thatI checked your profile - I remember you saying before now!

Dp keeps bugging me about mine - its the daft wee things that I cant put in until I am out of the door that I cant organise!! Plus not sure what to go for in the way of snacks and such like. Just cant be bothered really - still I have 5 weeks to go.. although if he would like to come a few weeks early then that would be cool!!!

lazyemma · 26/03/2007 16:46

My husband's the same - perhaps if I leave it much longer he'll get so annoyed that he'll just pack it for me! That could be a mistake though - god knows what random items we'd find in there when we get to the hospital.

bananasarny · 28/03/2007 14:07

Hi everybody, long time no see, just got on line at home ... have felt very cut off! Hope you are all doing well, some must have had their babbies! We all must be quite inflated now!!

Loulee · 29/03/2007 17:01

Hi bananasarny, how far on are you? Think I joined after you (not due til july - but def getting bigger - tho only just thinking about maternity clothes).
geordiemac - i found I didn't want to eat anything - apart from wee corners of glucose sweets. Also hospitals aren't keen that you eat anything. I know at QMH it's basically nothing bar a little water.
How's everyone getting on with the new wee ones btw?

geordiemacminx · 29/03/2007 18:24

Hey bananasarny - was jut thinking about you the other day!!!

Hows things? Thats me at 36 weeks nearly now, looking huge!!!

Been attending the antenatal classes up at Bellshill - have you got yours booked yet?

I also have a breast feeding workshop next week - be "interesting" if nothing else!!

Hope everyone else is well!!!

midnightexpress · 30/03/2007 09:09

Hi all, seems like there are a few more of you due in the next few weeks - must be v soon for Vio, no? How exciting!
All fine with us: a bit sleepless, but otherwise fine. How's the feeding going Trixy and Anjo? DS2 10 weeks tomorrow and such a strapping lad already! He's still quite colicky, but I'm holding out for an improvement before too much longer, and the sleeping is slooooowly getting better I think. All of course redeemed by the smiles, and he's just started the cutest little gurgles (in between the colicky bits). Yummy.

Vio · 30/03/2007 10:33

hi everyone! hi midnightexpress, yes, i will be 37wks this sunday!! not long to go now. My mum is arriving tomorrow noon so i am very excited now.

Went to the hospital last night, was a couple session with birth room tour, it was good....really looking forward to the birth now...i remain positive and keep thinking that i can do it..

weeonion · 30/03/2007 14:29

hello folks - aint the weather lovely! i think liath, vio, myself and geordie are the next to go on this thread. cant rememeber when lazyemma is???? so there should be a few new babies to joining midnight, trixy and anjo...

glad thinsg are ok midnight - hope the colic settles down soon - maybe in teh next 2 weeks??

vio - we had the tour a cople of weeks ago - all a bit real after that. was a bit more reassured but also - kinda hoping for a less formal and "cold" environment - escpeicallyin teh midwife unit. ah well - i hope to do as much of it as home as possible as we are literaly within viewing distance of the hospital..

soem people mentioned a mile for maud a while ago - as a meet up.its on the 12th may - i am not sure i will be up for it - all depends how far over i go and how fit i am afterwards....if possible - i would like to do it tho'. anyone else?

and are we still planning well ahead to the 23rd may - a picnic - maybe in botanic gardens/ kelvingrove? any other suggestions woudl be great ..

off out for a long walk, had second dose of RL tablets and second pot of the tea. a coupel of weeks to go yet and feeling grand.
hope you all have a lovely weekend. xoxoxoox

Hey Geordie loulee et al

Gosh are you 36 weeks Geordie, think I'm 34 (some prob with dates!)... I've just clicked.. there cant be many Geordies at antinatal classes in Bellshill. I think we were in the same class as when you spoke I though now that lass defo has an accent ..I wonder so it must be you...I think you made a comment when the MW said "you've got a good scottish tongue in your head"... made me giggle.

Are you going to the breastfeeding at 10am next week? If so I'll see you there and intro myself as banana and if its not you will be thrown out prob.

I've started on the RL tea got it in Napiers Bothwell st, quite like it!

Vio not long to go!

Cant believe the size of the shopping lists havent got anything yet, still debating prams etc, so behind - have a cotbed wrapped in plastic so far.

Fed up of being prego now - just want end result!

weeonion · 30/03/2007 18:01

banana - sorry - i forgot about you in my earlier post! There is another baby on the way in the next few weeks then!

OP posts:
lazyemma · 30/03/2007 18:27

I'm due on April 7th, although I reckon I'll be late, so I still feel strangely calm! My bag is now approx 60% packed - need a few small extra items (like something to give birth in, ahem) which I'll get on the weekend.
