Anyone who is similar please come and join, I want to complain and not be told he'll come when he's ready Sad I know that that is the case but I can't have it repeated to me any more than what I've already heard it, mainly by the annoying fuckers who text me and ask if the baby is here yet!

I went to the midwife for a sweep at bang on 40 weeks but she couldn't do it because he wasn't engaged enough so I can't try again until Thursday which is pushing it too close to Christmas Day Angry And I had £50 worth of acupuncture yesterday and he's still as high as he was 6 weeks ago.

I'm sorry for the moan but I'm so fucked off, I just don't want him to have a birthday any closer to Christmas than what he has to Sad

If anyone was barely engaged with not even a hint of a show but suddenly dropped and went in to labour, now is the time to share your stories!

Oh no, what a pain. Friday is still a long way away though, you might well go naturally before them.

Not to piss you off further but my sweep apparently 'couldn't have gone better' so I'm hoping something will happen tonight. I've had a few period type cramps but nothing regular or significant yet. Come on baby!

PeachBellini123 · 19/12/2016 19:01

Good luck both. Fingers crossed you're holding your babies before long.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 19/12/2016 19:07

Will keep everything crossed for you Quilliam!

ControlGeek · 19/12/2016 19:13

Can I join please? 40+2 and ridiculously emotional, crying at everything for the last three days. Nesting started in earnest last Wednesday but I'm so over that now. I've had insomnia throughout the pregnancy but nothing so bad as what I've experienced in the last month. No sign of anything shifting, no show, baby not engaged. Everything feels far too comfortable, apart from the BHs I get every evening without fail since I was 34 weeks.

I've waited a long time for this baby, a few days more shouldn't hurt but as with others it's how close it is to Christmas that's really bothering me. That, and she's measuring rather big and she ain't gonna get any smaller as time goes on!

user1465877498 · 19/12/2016 19:18

I had my second unsuccessful sweep today cervix is still completely uneffaced and undilated :( I'm 40+4. another examination and sweep Wednesday then I officially give up. Feeling so teary x

mistletoe1 · 19/12/2016 19:25

Great news quilliam!

No movement at all following my show this morning. A few pains earlier this afternoon but they were short lived and feeling fine now. Sigh!!

mistletoe1 · 19/12/2016 19:27

Controlgeek I've been ridiculously emotional, it's been the worst part of going overdue! I feel completely out of control but at least I can rationalise that it's hormonal.

QuilliamCakespeare · 19/12/2016 19:32

Control we're the same - 40+2 Smile

This might help cheer us all up. It's not the best version of the song but the lyrics are lovely...I'm watching my bump wiggle and feeling lucky instead of impatient for now

ControlGeek · 19/12/2016 19:57

Thanks ladies Xmas Smile

Great news on your sweep Quilliam, here's hoping it gets things shifting for you soon.

Sorry to hear the hormones have you in their grip too Mistletoe, I keep telling myself I'm just hormonal but I think DP is struggling when I get a bit short with him!

Sorry to hear that user, I hope Wednesday's goes better for you. It's no surprise you're teary. In no other part of our lives do we eagerly await a date we are given, only to have it come and go with no sign of the promised event and no guarantee of a reschedule or even compensation from the delivery company for a missed visit!

Elland · 19/12/2016 21:57

I could sit and cry right now at the thought of going over to my induction day, I've just had enough Sad

Hopefully tomorrow morning there will be some updates to share between us all.

Kione · 19/12/2016 22:51

I am 39+ 5 and fed up with people saying "not long now!" My DD was 11 days late so it could be bloody long yet so SHUT UP :(
Seeing the midwife tomorrow who offered me a sweep but with DD it took me 3 days of labor after the sweep and I am too scared of that and getting too close to Christmas, so I am thinking of not having the sweep and hoping for a quiet Christmas? But you never know its so frustrating :(
I also really don't feel like having sex at all...

StubbleTurnips · 19/12/2016 23:02

Ah Ell Flowers

Sorry to hear it's not progressed misletoe

I've decided in my mind that I'm waiting til induction date now, and I'm having a baileys on my birthday at the end of this week and a rare steak. Still have terrible backache and a pressure headache, took the dog for a long walk earlier - all it did was make me cross as my boots were caked in mud.

QuilliamCakespeare · 20/12/2016 04:04

Cramps have completely stopped and I've been wide awake for an hour and a half. Stupid pregnancy insomnia!

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 20/12/2016 06:45

Oh Quill, I'm sorry, it sounded so positive! Long walk today and get on a bouncy ball as much as you can!

I can relate on the insomnia, been averaging 3 hours for weeks now, but last night I didn't sleep at all thanks to poorly 18 month old only sleeping lay on my chest whilst I sit up bless her, double ear infection Sad So I'm fat, miserable, and so tired I feel sick Sad Having a right old pity party lol!

Is anyone else struggling to get in three Christmas spirit because of this waiting?!

QuilliamCakespeare · 20/12/2016 07:36

Oh no, you must be beyond exhausted Freak. DS wasn't a great sleeper for a long, long time. Only very recently he's started sleeping until 7. He used to be up for the day at 5.30 every day without fail. Sleep deprivation is truly awful. Remind me why are we doing this again...? Grin

I asked my MW what the Christmas dinner is like in hospital yesterday, just in case. I hope I don't find out firsthand!!

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 20/12/2016 07:41

Grim, I hadn't even thought of that Shock

DP had better bring me an amazing turkey and stuffing sandwich if I am in on Xmas day still!

Bloody induction, first took 3 days, second least than 2 hours Shock so God knows which way it'll go this time!

I think I'm resigning myself to the fact it's never going to happen. On a positive note though at least not being even remotely engaged means I'm not peeing every 5 mins 😂

Try and do something lovely today to take your mind off it if you can, it's the way forward I reckon. Stuff labour, whatever we are over it 😂😂

QuilliamCakespeare · 20/12/2016 07:48

That's actually a great silver lining. I am so over peeing four times an hour. My baby is engaged at one appointment then back on the brim at the next one, he's like a bloody jack in the box!

Reinforcements are coming to help with DS today so my plans are: nap, eat Christmas cake, nap, read my book, erm... nap.

You're right - labour is overrated. We are festively plump, like a hoard of beautiful lady Santas. Embrace it! Grin

Tinyhumanjan17 · 20/12/2016 08:14

Pains have stopped barring the odd random one... I managed a full nights sleep in bed for a change which is awesome but also makes me think that it's not a good sign for him coming!! Iv also only needed to pee once which I'm hoping doesn't mean he's moved because he was fully engaged the other day!!

At mw this afternoon for my 38w appt, I'm only 37+3 but cos of Xmas Theyv had to see me early which has annoyed me cos my consultant has said I can have a sweep from 38w n iv got a feeling the mw will say she can't do it today and I'm not due to see anybody after today until I see my consultant on th 10th Jan by which point I'll be 40+3 and Theyv already said they'll be inducing me at some point between 40+41w!

Ud think a good night's sleep would make me feel better but Nope if anything I feel grumpier than ever!!

Sorry for everyone who's sweeps haven't worked!! I totally agree with the labour is overrated!!

Is anybody else also sick of hearing 'it'll be Xmas day when he comes'?? Honestly it's all everyone keeps saying ooh I bet up have a Xmas day baby. I don't frigging want an Xmas day baby!! We have plans... I'm supposed to be getting 2 Xmas dinners which I'm extremely looking forward to!! And people are not helping my anxiety telling me that he's gonna come Xmas day!!

Nikki2ol6 · 20/12/2016 08:25

Iv heard that a lot too!! Oooooo imagine if he came at Christmas... umm yea that would be great for my other kids. 15 days until my induction which I really don't want 😭

mistletoe1 · 20/12/2016 08:25

Happy 41 weeks to me! Had an excellent nights sleep, absolutely no pains or niggles. Im so utterly fucked off I've had a massive hormonal sob.

Cake for all in the same boat x

ControlGeek · 20/12/2016 09:36

Sorry to hear that Quilliam, possibly erratic pre-labour?

I've also been getting a lot of 'Ooh a Christmas Day baby!' like it's the best thing ever. Not happening, even if I have to sit with a champers cork up my wotsit for the day!

I think I might have possible signs of movement here, but I know it could still be a long haul yet. Got up this morning with what felt like trapped wind and constipation, ended up getting a bloody show. I now have mildly painful contractions every 3-5 minutes, getting slightly stronger as time goes on. These are definitely not the BHs I've been having Xmas Grin

QuilliamCakespeare · 20/12/2016 09:45

Sounds v promising Control, that's pretty much how my first labour started. Fingers crossed for you.

Kione · 20/12/2016 09:48

Sorry I didn't even say "hi" to everyone.
I really hope we get non-xmas babies and they all shut up.
