Anyone who is similar please come and join, I want to complain and not be told he'll come when he's ready Sad I know that that is the case but I can't have it repeated to me any more than what I've already heard it, mainly by the annoying fuckers who text me and ask if the baby is here yet!

I went to the midwife for a sweep at bang on 40 weeks but she couldn't do it because he wasn't engaged enough so I can't try again until Thursday which is pushing it too close to Christmas Day Angry And I had £50 worth of acupuncture yesterday and he's still as high as he was 6 weeks ago.

I'm sorry for the moan but I'm so fucked off, I just don't want him to have a birthday any closer to Christmas than what he has to Sad

If anyone was barely engaged with not even a hint of a show but suddenly dropped and went in to labour, now is the time to share your stories!

I've had sex twice a day, every day and it's done sod all! 40+6 today and off for a sweep this afternoon.

Been having burning pain low in bump and in my back for 3 days but it's not coming to anything Sad Would love to go into labour just once without induction lol!

sunshine8 · 19/12/2016 09:16

I'm 40+5 now and I'm losing the plot! Nobody ever tells you that going past your due date is this miserable. I have done everything to try and get this baby but nada! No cramps, no mucus and bump is still high.

Had a failed sweep at 40 and back for another tomorrow which I'm not feeling positive about so looks like an induction is on the cards. Baby is still really active as well despite the fact that she bigger than ever so she really must be having a fab time in there! I guess as long as she is happy then that's the main thing but I just wish there was no pressure with Christmas days away!

Elland · 19/12/2016 09:19

Come on babies! We need you here before Christmas Day, you don't want your birthdays then!

I sympathise with all of you! I finally have my little boy but he refused to budge! Went 12 days over and was induced on Friday. He was finally born on Saturday to my immense relief. It is so insanely miserable to go so far over 40 weeks. Hoping all your babies come soon!

ManoloBlahnik1 · 19/12/2016 10:05

40 weeks tomorrow feel like I've been pregnant for 100 weeks! Had reflexology, ball
Bouncing, nipple stimulation, clary sage, sex last night, more reflexology later today and then sweep booked tomorrow.

Keep trying to have a word with myself that he will come eventually then googling natural induction Confused going crazy.

Feel like I am going to be pregnant for ever!

QuilliamCakespeare · 19/12/2016 10:25

Freakin I am impressed by your dedication. I've had sex this morning and have a sweep booked for later. Also had a strong coffee and am contemplating the bumpy slide at soft play - worth a try?

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 19/12/2016 10:31

I am so over sex now it's untrue, can only manage lay on my side like a beached whale because I'm so massive but determined to keep at it in the hopes that it will eventually so something!

I've got everything crossed I get good news about effacement etc when I go for my sweep later, if she says I'm not favourable I may actually cry Blush

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 19/12/2016 10:32

Defo go for the bumpy slide, several times. The stairs up to the top will help hopefully if the slide doesn't!

hoddtastic · 19/12/2016 10:41

ooh tinyhumanjam you wont be long now.

Sympathise, gone way way way over with all mine.

DD1 was 16 days late and needed winching out.
DD2 was 14 days late, at midnight, the night before the planned induction waters started trickling, no pain, head not engaged, went in as planned, no contractions, baby still really high- discussed options for induction, had an internal, nothing doing, got an almighty urge to push and baby was born in 20mins.

3rd one, 13 days over, nothing doing, at all, whatsoever. Again, night before induction appt felt strange, thought I'd done a bit of wee, rang unit, they told me to come in, baby arrived in a few hours.

Mine are little sods, stay put as long as possible and at the point I give up hope and accept an induction they burst forth like wrecking balls

have you all done your massive poos? I always poo like an elephant and then it happens within hours... :D good luck!

mistletoe1 · 19/12/2016 10:54

It sounds awful but I'm so glad I'm not the only one! 40+6 today. I had a bloody show this morning (lost mucus plug late last week) and I'm hoping so much it means labour is imminent! Puh-lease baby get a move on!

QuilliamCakespeare · 19/12/2016 10:58

Oooh mistletoe, you can't be far off. I'm desperate to see my plug despite still having flashbacks of how grim it was last time!

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 19/12/2016 11:05

Ooooooh exciting mistletoe!

If you get your show then is labour pretty imminent? Never seen mine, and waters went right before delivery both times so no clue Confused

mistletoe1 · 19/12/2016 11:15

It sounds like everyone is different so you wouldn't necessarily get a show whatthe (she says after much googling!) but I've had no other signs so I'm clinging to it!! Have had the breast pump out again this morning to encourage things along.

Midwife has literally just called to say they've booked me in for a propess induction on 23rd which means baby should arrive before Christmas - phew !! They'll let me come home as well while I wait for it to work. Hopefully things happen beforehand but it's a better scenario than the one I was facing yesterday.

Elland · 19/12/2016 11:19

Exciting Mistletoe!! Fingers crossed your baby will be here soon!

misletoe Envy Envy

I've had terrible backache for 2 days now, but still nothing. Stupid baby.

QuilliamCakespeare · 19/12/2016 11:25

Whatthe I didn't have a show last time until I was in labour. I'd been having contractions for an hour or so and got into the shower then... splat. Lovely. My waters went a couple of minutes before he was born last time.

mistermagpie · 19/12/2016 11:43

I had a midwife appointment on the wednesday. He was head down but head was 'free' and 100% not engaged. He was born on the Friday, midwife said his head must have engaged while I was in labour so it can definitely happen.

I went on a long uphill walk and pretty much ate a whole pineapple the night before he was born, no idea if it made any difference but i would do it again just in case!

Nikki2ol6 · 19/12/2016 11:50

My oh said no to sex 😔 Just incase it starts me off and he's scared lol Iv told him it will only start me off if my body is ready!! But he's staying clear he said

Kel1234 · 19/12/2016 11:50

With my 1st baby, I was showing no signs of labour at all on my due date- which was Sunday 30th August. I'd been sent for a growth scan, as baby was small, measuring 30 weeks at 37 weeks. They told me that the baby was still quite high, but should drop in time.
Then on the following Tuesday, I started to get random contractions, off and on. I was booked in for a sweep on the Wednesday, but declined it, as I hoped labour would progress naturally, the contractions continued for 4 days, but silk nothing more. So had a sweep at 3pm in Friday 4th September. Was told to go home until I needed to go to the birth centre. Went to the birth centre at 9pm. The head was never engaged enough to break my waters, hence why my labour wouldn't progress. So midwife broke my waters at 3am and at 6.58, baby was born.
They were the longest 4 days ever though, the sheer exhaustion.

mistletoe1 · 19/12/2016 12:14

Sorry stubble! I've turned into such a jealous witch this week - I have a little cry at anyone who has an early or on-time arrival! No pains or anything else right now so I could still be waiting...

lilydaisyrose · 19/12/2016 12:52

41+3 here and no baby yet! False alarm last night - m/w here (home birth), cervix still long. Am cracking up.

Tinyhumanjan17 · 19/12/2016 17:11

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 19/12/2016 18:16

Arrrrrggggghhhhh! Went for my sweep today, she couldn't do it as she couldn't even reach my cervix, AGAIN! Sad

This is friggin' baby no 3, you'd think by now my body would know what to do to get a baby out?!

So induction Friday, providing there is a bed free..... Merry bloody Christmas 😢😢
