Anyone who is similar please come and join, I want to complain and not be told he'll come when he's ready Sad I know that that is the case but I can't have it repeated to me any more than what I've already heard it, mainly by the annoying fuckers who text me and ask if the baby is here yet!

I went to the midwife for a sweep at bang on 40 weeks but she couldn't do it because he wasn't engaged enough so I can't try again until Thursday which is pushing it too close to Christmas Day Angry And I had £50 worth of acupuncture yesterday and he's still as high as he was 6 weeks ago.

I'm sorry for the moan but I'm so fucked off, I just don't want him to have a birthday any closer to Christmas than what he has to Sad

If anyone was barely engaged with not even a hint of a show but suddenly dropped and went in to labour, now is the time to share your stories!

I hope it works for you lily, I can't bring myself to try it yet!

I was 40+4 and SO damn miserable/uncomfortable all the time.

Then my waters went, all over the floor at home! Contractions came thick and fast and he was born that day. I too had a sweep which made no difference, he was head down but not engaged etc...

The one thing I did try in desperation was reflexology, the day before he was born. Coincidence perhaps?! But worth trying!

dontpokethebear · 18/12/2016 09:43

I had a Christmas Eve baby, it's not so bad!
We stopped off at friends for a quick Christmas lunch (we were supposed to be going there anyway) on the way home from the hospital on Christmas Day Grin

I haven't had it myself, but 3 of my friends have had reflexology and all 3 went into labour within 24 hours of having it....

QuilliamCakespeare · 18/12/2016 10:26

That's good to hear Poke. Gawd, I'm going to do some desperate googling for a local reflexologist tomorrow. I feel sick today but it's more likely to be a cake overdose than anything else I think. Looking forward to seeing which of us on this thread will be the next to pop!

mum2Bomg · 18/12/2016 10:41

Had a failed sweep at 40+3 as my cervix was closed for business. Had DD at 40+6. 13 days ago now!

mum2Bomg · 18/12/2016 10:41

If you have a ball, get bouncing!

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 18/12/2016 10:47

I feel you, I'm 40+5, baby no 3.

I had to be induced with the other two so not holding our much hope that it'll happen on its own this time either, induction is Friday if nothing happens before.

For others facing induction, both mine were fine so try not to stress, they aren't always bad.

UnbornMortificado · 18/12/2016 12:17

I've even had sex this morning I'm so desperate. GrinGrin

Elland yes she's 4 and fine just goes to show even with careful planning they can give you a surprise.

Massive sympathy to everyone I went 6 days over with DD1 and I wasn't happy. Hope you all have your lovely babies very, very soon (but not the 25th) FlowersFlowers

mistletoe1 · 18/12/2016 13:20

Midwife has been, sweep given. Another booked in for Wednesday. If that doesn't work they would like to induce me on Christmas Day. Xmas Sad

Feeling REALLY down but trying so hard not to as I don't want to scare baby off!

PeppaAteMySoul · 18/12/2016 13:24

My baby came at 40+5 and I'm utterly convinced that the sex the night before played a huge part in him coming.

strandedabroad · 18/12/2016 13:33

No signs at all until 40+6, was in the middle of a heatwave this summer just gone. Sooo fed up. 40+6 I had both a sweep and acupuncture, and also went for a long walk. Woke up on the morning at 41 weeks exactly with a niggly back, he was born at lunchtime! Hope your baby is here soon.

user1465877498 · 18/12/2016 13:55

Omg I'm SO happy I found this post! I'm
40+2 today and absolutely tearing my hair out. I go from thinking 'fuck it I give up' to researching how to get her out 30 times a day 😩 It definitely is the Christmas rush that's making me so impatient and I have had no signs whatsoever. Had a sweep on my due date on Friday where she said cervix still completely uneffaced and posterior but she did manage to reach it which is something I guess. Another sweep tomorrow. Haven't lost my plug or anything :( I've tried everything sex, walking, spicy food, all the bloody oils going but nothing. The baby's been more active than usual past few days don't know if that means anything but my bump is still really high definitely hasn't dropped yet. I want her before 24th so badly but just keep thinking the worst now that I'm going to be induced xx

Nikki2ol6 · 18/12/2016 14:21

I'm almost 38wks and have an induction booked for 40wks for medical reasons but they have told me it's way better for him if he comes on his own so I'm sooooo hoping he comes soon as I'm so tired I pee constantly he has dropped but keeps bobbing in and out, I did loose some mucus a couple of weeks ago after sex but nothing since but I'm having regular contractions on and off that fade off to nothing each time I think ooooo is this it and it never is, however my bag is packed by the door as if he's not here in a week at least I can enjoy a huge Christmas dinner

Phoenix15 · 18/12/2016 14:52

I had my first baby in September. Absolutely no hints of her coming at 40 weeks, the midwife tried to give me a sweep but couldn't reach my cervix at that point! No signs of labour at all (no braxton hicks even or a show) until my waters went at 40+4, and she was born within 13 hours. So it can happen pretty quick!

Elland · 18/12/2016 14:53

Thank you for the positive stories of no signs and then babies being born! I'm hoping that's what happens for those of us who are willing our babies out before Christmas!

Elland · 18/12/2016 14:56

I've tried reflexology but absolutely nothing happened, I think he's just too high still.

I'm getting worried he's too big to fit in my pelvis and I'll be induced on Boxing Day just to be told he would never have come naturally!

Dueindecember2016 · 18/12/2016 16:37

I want to join the moaners too. Ball, sex, tea, pineapple, walks....not working. 39+2 with a sweep booked in for Friday, I'm praying it works.

Elland · 18/12/2016 18:24

Come and join, you can happily moan without being told the baby will come when it's ready! Do you know what you're having?

OP posts:
mistletoe1 · 18/12/2016 18:33

The positive stories are great - we need hope! I've got the electric breast pump out for some nipple stimulation. Never ever thought I would resort to all of this!!

Dueindecember2016 · 18/12/2016 18:52

I've created a whatsapp group for my friends to save them asking me the same question over and over again. I know they care but I'm at the point of thinking this baby has no intention of coming out.

I'm due on the 23rd and having a girl.

Tinyhumanjan17 · 18/12/2016 23:15

37+1 with ds1 gonna get in on this thread!! Had very bad bh on and off since 28w. Lost a little blood last night had couple pains an hour until mid afternoon today when they ramped up to every 7 minutes. Cue going to get checked to be safe and apparently cervix is soft and shorter and starting to open but not classed as established labour yet. Very disappointing and I'm still getting regular pains so God help me when it kicks in properly!!!

Sm031986 · 19/12/2016 00:36

Exactly 40 weeks just now & feel so squished & tired & uncomfortable. I'm getting to the stage where I don't even really mind what birthday he ends up with as long as it's within the next few days. Midwives have said they'll let me go to 12 days over but I think I'll have lost the plot by then

Elland · 19/12/2016 08:49

Has anyone been trying anything else to get their babies out?!

As much as I feel like a massive Christmas Turkey ready to roast we actually had sex last night so I'll see if that makes any difference today! The reflex, acupuncture, not doable sweep, hours on the ball have not done anything! I feel like he's still too high up in there for anything to work!

user1465877498 · 19/12/2016 09:05

I've tried literally everything had sex last night and going for another sweep today! Hoping for some progress but I really don't think there will be any :( haven't lost my plug not really having any braxton hicks nothing at all. Getting so disappointed :( x

Tinyhumanjan17 · 19/12/2016 09:15

Had sex this morning hoping that's doing something. Apparently he's engaged. Pains are now only every 20 minutes again though and only painful enough to warrant a couple of paracetamol to make me functional. Off for a long walk today too. His bum is now somewhere around my belly button, I can breathe and I feel starving. I'm guessing these are all signs its all going the right direction. But not lost my plug or any waters or anything yet and the mw from last night said yes my cervix is starting to open but I'm not dilated any yet 🙁 was hoping he'd be here either by now or beginning of this week dreading having a Xmas eve/day baby 🙁
