I have my 12 week scan and NT tomorrow afternoon. It's been 4 weeks since my last scan. I was completely freaked out last week but managed to be sufficiently distracted on the weekend. So, today and tomorrow I just pretend to work and then by tomorrow afternoon I will see things a little clearer.

Ds would have had nothing at all if it hadn't been for a super-organised friend (who had already had a baby) coming to stay a couple of weekends before he arrived!! With hindsight, the only thing I think YOU really need is nipple cream if you're planning on breastfeeding... Prevention is better than the cure!

Mumpbump · 30/04/2007 16:46

I remember I had to ring my mum from the hospital the day after ds was born to ask her to buy nappies - that was how unprepared we were!!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 17:00

Rubles...I was, but things have settled down so I allowed myself out of the house as I was going just a little stir crazy. Haven't had any painful contractions since last Thursday and they're satisfied that I'm not dilating....so....

I'm still taking it easy though

Furrymummy · 30/04/2007 18:41

Hello, everyone hope you are all okay. Been mad busy lately!
Good luck to everyone who have scans coming up, hope everything is okay.
Little beans keep hanging in there!

ejt1764 · 30/04/2007 19:35

Evening all ... glad to hear positive news from everybody!!

I'm madly reading through application forms (well, I should be) as we've had 35 applications for a job in my department!

Think it may take me some time!!

Hope all stays positive for everybody!

Daisybump · 30/04/2007 20:22

We'll need a new thread soon ladies as this will be full at 1000 messages.....

Woooozle100 · 01/05/2007 11:57

Ooh is 1000 the limit?

Hello everyone. Glimmer - have everything crossed for you that all goes well today x

Becklespeckle - sorry you are going through a worrying time right now. Glad the bleeding has stopped. Hope you get yr scan soon.

I'm getting my hair cut off in a bit. So sick of looking like Waynetta slob with my scrappy ponytail (cos I don't have the time / inclination to do my hair)

Hop everyone is fine and dandy

Good afternoon everyone! Talking of hair cuts, I got my hair cut last week from half way down my back to a short bob! There must be something in the air - or the pg hormones!! The only downside about having long hair is that if you always wear it back, what's the point in having it. Still, I'm sure it will have grown out by the time no. 2 arrives - short hair is much harder to keep, imo, and I'm not sufficiently bothered about how my hair looks to do it justice!

Hi everyone

Can any of you tell me if you had an inconclusive early scan and what went on to happen?

I miscarried at christmas - Im prgnant again but went for a scan yesterday where they only found an empty sac

I still feel very sick, tired and achy boobs.

Cant bear the thougth that this is another one over?

Any words of advice for me?

Thanks
Pecka x

Woooozle100 · 01/05/2007 13:44

Keith from Eastenders... Arf!

There are def advantages to putting yr hair back (eek don't mean all ponytails are waynetta slobbish btw!) - just I am abusing that at the moment. Basically my hair is so shit at the mo (struggling to find a comparison - maybe Russell Brand if you tried to brush it then let a toddler loose with some scissors) All I can do is spend about 5 - 10 seconds scraping it off my face into ponytail. Am going for some mid length sort of style - thinned out, between ear / chin. But aye - want it to be the sort of thing I can wet a bit, smooth down and just stick a slide in if too Worzil. Don't want to be arsing about with straighteners. Maybe not too many layers. Previous experience has taught me that lots of layers + lazy approach to styling = Terry Nutkin.

Hee hee - we should put pics of all our bad hairstyles on our profiles I've had some corkers. Had a full, heavy fringe that started at the back of my head when about to drop with dd - really accentuated my fat face and 5 stone weight gain. Oh and the bleach horrors! Anyway - going on a bit remembers am on mumsnet not hairscare.com

Mumpbump · 01/05/2007 13:47

Firststar - dh loves it! But I had it cut like this a couple of years ago and he thought it looked really sexy then, so I was on safe ground!

Pecka - no personal experience, but there was a post on exactly this a month or so ago - had a look, but can't find it - and from what I can recall, some people ended up with bad news, but some people went on to have viable pgs and healthy babies. I don't think you can assume anything at this point, but I can guarantee that everyone here knows how awful the first few weeks of pg can be when you are fearing the worst. You just need to take each day as it comes... Fingers crossed for you!

rubles · 01/05/2007 13:49

Firststar, I had my hair cut and coloured the week before my due date last time. It was worth it because it made the post birth photos bearable. I went for a spray-on tan after I had my show when I was getting period pains too. I am soooo shallow.

Glimmer - good luck for tomorrow sweetie.

My daughter has just met the midwife for the first time today. She is quite a shy girl normally, but my word she just leapt on the woman and gave her so many massive, squeezy hugs. It was bizarre (but very nice).

Mumpbump - haven't 'spoken' to you in ages, I am so sorry to hear about your mother.

Hi to everyone else.

Woooozle100 · 01/05/2007 13:51

hello Pecka -

Sorry you are having such an awful time. How far along are you? Did the radiographer say it was an inconlusive finding as you are early on? Maybe there is an empty sack and maybe there is another one with foetus in that they couldn't see? I have heard of this happening.

I'm sorry I don't have any experience of this as such. I have had multiple mc and can completely relate to what you say about not wanting to loose another. I try and remain v detatched early on in pg but it always hits hard if they don't progress.

I wish you all the best x

rubles · 01/05/2007 13:54

Peckarollover - sorry, x-posted, didn't mean to ignore you and sound quite so trivial and flippant. I'm afraid I haven't had an inconclusive scan myself but my impression is the same as Mumpbump's from reading MN (i.e. it could go either way). It could just be a timing issue as a few days either way could be crucial. I really hope so.

rubles · 01/05/2007 13:57

Ejb - lol @ Terry Nutkin!!! My dp has likened me to Johnathon Ross or Paul Merton on some of my worse hair days. Now I know that some women might fancy JR (not me), but that doesn't make it a good look on a woman in anyone's book.

Rubles - I love the idea of prepping for post-birth photos. It never crossed my mind before, but I might try it this time as I must admit that I look pretty awful in the last lot!

Firststar - I'm off to a black tie dinner on Saturday night - hence motivation to sort my hair out at last! I am hoping to entice my dh into a little nooky, but the sad reality is that I will pass out at about midnight and he will be up drinking until 04:00!
