Ooh Daisybump.. hope bub stays cooking a little while yet! Not long to go though now. Enjoy being waited on (tho it does get a bit tedious doesn't it?)

Glimmer - arrrgghhhh. I know its easy to say try not to worry - stay off the internet etc. Thing is, you want this so bad of course you are frightened and anxious. I can really empathise with that. But its truly exhausting to fret about the what ifs. You can only deal with them as and when they pop up. If you do decide to go for cvs / amnio - I've had that and can share my experiences. Though at this stage, I wouldn't pay any attention to that fast heartbeat stuff - don't all foetuses have fast heartbeats? Surely it varies on whether they are sleeping / active as well.

Haha - I give all this advice and there was me fretting over having finishing off my dd's dinner then making a connection between a slight sore throat and cmv. Don't google it btw. Fook if we carried this anxiety about all other aspects of our lives we'd be Sheila from Shameless!

Hello Again my mn friends

I"ve just got back from my wonderful holiday with ds and dh in sunny Fiji.
It was sooo wonderful, I'll try not to rave.

although throughly enjoyed the snorkelling evrey day, warm water and wonderful food and friendliness of fijians, they are soo great with kids (highly recommend holidaying with kids there). My highlight was seeing a reef shark and kayaking across the calm waters.

I was one of about 5 (6 monthish )pregnant ladies there, everyone seemed to have the same idea.

Have had quick catch up-

Ejb- hope you are ok after scare and taking it easy.

Pinks- congrat's on boy, and name 'Tate' one of my fav's although not dh's I actually like that name because of the tate gallery in London, because I love art. I also have named my cat dali and love the name monet for a girl. So not sure about it being australian????

firstar-congrat's on home straight third trimester, yay

Hi to everyone else, I'll catch up more later

Woooozle100 · 25/04/2007 09:15

sounds lovely, Uki. Glad you had a great time

pinkranger · 25/04/2007 09:17

welcome home uki - also very

Most im getting this year is a trip to butlins

Woooozle100 · 25/04/2007 09:31

We're going to Haven for 5 days. Oh and yesterday I booked for us to go to the lattitude festival. We're taking dd. (Kiddies stuff there looks ace - and looks like its more of a calm family thing in tranquil surroundings rather than usual rabid festival) The inner hippy in me is relishing it (and squashing the voice of the practical moaner in me going on about camping with small child whilst being 6 months + pregnant!)

pinkranger · 25/04/2007 10:57

i know what you mean ejb, we are taking our ds in July and he will LOVE IT, so much to do, me on the other hand will be 33 weeks and just spending the whole time in the pool, may do a day on the beach but im sure greenpeace will turn up tryingt o get me back in the water

pinkranger · 25/04/2007 10:58

also we are NOT camping ,staying Gold Accomadation

Great to hear about so many nice vacations - had and to be had. Thanks for all your reassurance. Will not surf the internet for a week -- except MN!!! Had some counselling today which helped as well. It's not that I can do anything or influence the outcome any way...
I think I ight invest into a Doppler, if next weeks scan is positive.

Everybody is looking forward to holidays, while for me it's the opposite : DH is moving to the
UK by the end of May and I am looking forward to not travelling for a while :-) Just want to sit in the garden of a house we haven't rented yet (hopefully it will have one...) and relax while being served orange juice. At least that's my idea....

Furrymummy · 25/04/2007 20:34

Becklespeckle - I think you are confusing me with mumpbump, it's her mum that's gone in for chemo today. I hope she and mumpbump are okay.
Had my first pg migraine today. It sucks...

ejt1764 · 25/04/2007 20:37

Evening all,

work is still going really well - I'm avoiding the dephead and those who moaned to her!
The kids have worked out that I'm pg (I have a heck of a bump for 17 + weeks!) and are all very excited on my behalf.

The LSAs who work in my classes (we have a lot of children with special needs at the school where I work) have all starting mothering me (even those younger than me, which is a novelty!) and have all told me how glad they are that I'm back!

daisybump - the kids I work with are for the most part absolutely lovely. It amuses me, as when I tell people where I work, the usual reaction for anybody who knows Cardiff schools is to take a sharp intake of breath and say something along the lines of: 'Gosh, you're brave/' ... they usually don't believe me when I say that I really like working there - infact, of the schools I've worked in, I'm happiest there ... (perhaps I need certifying?)

I really do hope that the contractions settle down for you - my close friend had her baby at 33 weeks, and he weighed 5lbs - he was in SBU for a couple of weeks, but was basially fine!

Enjoy being waited on!

ejb - sad to here about your bleed - I hope everything settles down - and take it easy!
I went camping when 8 months pg with ds - and although it was a group effort to get me up off the airbed in the morning, I really enjoyed it (have camped all my life, so am used to it!)

Glimmer - no more wise words, just big hugs to you.

Uki - sounds like you had a fab time in Fiji - am also very !

pink - just want to say that your hols sound fab!! (and that I like the name Tate)

Right, have had a long, uninterrupted bath ( never happens!), and am about to go to bed.

Take care all!

fettleandminifettle · 25/04/2007 20:52

Hi all
Haven't been on here for a while - I hope everyone is ok.

daisybump - you take care of yourself - sounds scary, but as the others have said 33 weeks isn't that early. we had DD at 36 weeks and she was 7lbs4.5oz - so I'm very glad i didn't go to 42 weeks [ouch ouch ouch emoticon!] Sounds as if your midwife is very supportive and encouraging which is good.

glimmer try not to worry - you won't find out anything exactly about your own actual baby on the internet, although it is tempting to try and second guess everything. Concentrate on your DH moving over to you - that's so exciting!!

Ejt, I'm glad work is going well for you - your dep head did sound completely out of order. Just ignore her - jealousy I'd say. glad you enjoy your job, makes it so much easier when you are not feeling on top form, if at least you enjoy your job.

but i'm with you on the bump - yesterday I was thinking that I was relatively small compared to last time and then woke up this morning and I'm suddenly huge!! Also had really bad pains all day around my tummy button and just below it - like strained muscle pains. keep wondering if they are BHs, but I can't be having them already, can I? i'm only 17 weeks.

I had a not so good day today at work, whereas yesterday I felt great (probably related to the stomach pains and that worry that we all have as soon as things don't seem to going completely normally!), so I just can't decide when to start thinking about when to start maternity leave. Got time in hand though - off for a few days with work on Sunday, which should be fun. although I won't be drinking, it is always interesting watching those who do!

Hello to everyone I've missed.

take care all
xxx

Goodness! This is a very busy thread, don't know how am going to keep up with you all! Furrymummy, sorry I got you mixed up with Mumpbump - I'm easily confused! Think I was thinking of your dream and must have got sidetracked while typing (sorry ).
Mumpbump - how did your Mum get on yesterday?
Hope everyone else is okay today. I booked in with my Midwife yesterday - she said that as the date I ovulated is only 5 days later than expected they will use my LMP date. That makes me due Christmas Eve! Consultant rang me yesterday too and they have agreed to give me an early scan so hopefully I should hear in the next week or so when that will be. Also the Midwife said the scan request the doctor put in for me was not the same as the dating one so I am hoping I will get a dating scan at 12 weeks too, if not I think I will get a private scan for my own peace of mind as I m/c my first at 12 weeks and didn't find out for a while. Midwife also said fine to use pessary just don't shove it too far up, am still worrying a bit though! Had my first bout of tea-time nausea last night (hurrah!) and had to wait for it to go cold before I could eat it! Roll on lots more of that.

ms up to 20 weeks Firststar! Blimey, I usually get it from around 8/9 weeks until around 14 or so and that is bad enough! Usually get it in the evenings and I find bread, hot food and sweet stuff makes it worse. Last time I had it from day 1 and it was really bad, wonder now if body knew there was something wrong from the beginning? I did use the pessary in the end, thrush is just soo uncomfortable - I took the oral capsule for it with DS1 (before I knew I was pg) and that didn't seem to do any damage. The doc and MW both said the pessary won't be absorbed into the body so it is fine to use (doesn't stop me worrying though - anyone else completely paranoid about everything??)

Mumpbump · 26/04/2007 13:38

Hello everyone! Just a quick one from me today. Thanks for asking how my mum got on. It wasn't too bad - they had comfy armchairs for the patients to sit in so it was more like a living room than a hospital ward. She feels fine at the moment, but I think it takes a while for the effects to manifest themselves...

Daisybump - 33 weeks is positively ancient in pg terms and I'm sure your baby will be fine if it does put in an early appearance!!

Becklespeckle - glad you got an early scan. Even if no guarantee, it does give reassurance to know that you're in with a chance of everything being okay.

Firststar - when do you start your physio?

Fettleandminifettle - my bump put in a major appearance yesterday morning - then I got up, had a pee and it disappeared. I really think it's worse in the morning because of having a full bladder!

EJT - pleased to hear that work is going well...

Glimmer - that's great that you have a time-frame for dh to move to the UK. I'd love to hear your story sometime. It must be very challenging living in two different countries!

Uki - I am also green with envy! I don't think we'll be going anywhere at all this year...

EJB - what's the lattitude festival and where is it? Sounds interesting... Sorry to hear you had a worrying moment, but sounds like everything is progressing well.

Pinkranger - I would be interested in knowing what Butlins is like as I think we will have to do more family-friendly options in the future given that we will have such an age range - 13years to D'day -23 weeks...

Hello to anyone else that I've missed...

Have just snuck on - am expecting a year 9 class any minute!

I'm still being sick (am nearly 18 weeks) ....

Was sick with ds from day 1 to birth day! Have to say that I'm more accepting of the fact that it may last the whole pg - people at work are being lovely about the strange sounds I make first thing!

have a lovely afternoon and evening - I'm going to choir practice tonight!

Daisybump · 26/04/2007 20:15

Mumpbump...(((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) for your mum. form what I remember with my mum it takes a few days for the effects. she had her first chemo session around 19 December and I remember her being very poorly on Christmas day..sh said that the nausea was the worst aspect of it. but it passes quickly and she should be relatively OK between seesions. Good Luck to her.

hope everyone is OK...I've been back at the hospital for more monitoring....the registrars opinion..."looks like this baby can't decide whether or not its coming early" No, really....had very painful contractions today but they aren't regular so sent home with some painkillers and the knowledge that this can go on for weeks and weeks......co-codamol is wonderful stuff though and I feel as though I could dig out that annoying tree root in our garden that DH has been on about for ages

Daisybump · 26/04/2007 20:18

On the subject of MS...I couldn't face eating meat or fish until about 20 weeks...my christmas lunch consisted of one roast potato, one roast parsnip, a few carrot batons and half a giant pavlova!! Also couldn't eat if I'd done the cooking...but if DH cooked, then I was fine...very odd. now I'm devouring everything in sight, especially fish...and chocolate....and still very partial to pavlova

Daisybump · 26/04/2007 20:27

fettle...missed your post...hope you are well apart from the pains...they're probably ligament stretching type pains...I've had it all the way through and its been a bit ouchy, especially if I don;t brace myself when sneezing or get up or turn around too fast. I started noticing BH at about 28 weeks, but think they had been going on much longer.

Registrar told me again today that baby feels a "good size"...so thinking if I do go full term there'll be lots of ouch involved. think I'll rest up till about 36 weeks then start sals dancing around the house!!

Furrymummy · 26/04/2007 22:01

Well some more people know I'm pg! My dss's dm came by the house on the way from dropping her best friend's son at uni, to pick up my dss (since it was on the way). Apparently, the BF asked my dss's dm if I was pg, she said she didn't think so rang up and aked dh who confirmed it. Apparently I look pg, funny I thought I just look fat , but no according to the BF definitely pg - she said my shape had changed. Since she has had 3 kids herself I guess she is probably right! Anyway they have both been sworn to secrecy with regards to my DSS.

morning all, just taken mum home after her last radiotherepy. very emotional for us, need to keep everything crossed now until it is scan time, in a few weeks.

mumpbump, thinking of you and your mum.

pregnancy wise - feeling very like you do when you have a hangover and cannot quite decide what it is you really need to eat to cure the symptoms, iykwim, not exactly sicky but nothing tastes good and everything smells 10x the usual strength. probably a good sign?

only 2 weeks, 3 days till the scan for me, getting there!!!

wishing you all a fabulous weekend
