I'm just having lots and lots of nightmares ! Can I hve some of your dreams?

Bodkin · 20/03/2007 19:31

Greedy - that poor feller! I think you have got him in a bit of a state!!! God only knows what state his keyboard is in now.... whoops, sorry, just gone over the threshold again... Mind you, you have lifted my grumbly mood no end, you brazen hussy.

Right, back to more sedate matters - Delia Bodkin's yummy fibre flapjack recipe:

4oz butter
4oz brown sugar
1 dessertspoon honey
8oz oats (I used jumbo, but think porridge are fine)
2oz mix of sunflower and pumpkin seeds and chopped dried apricots - or whatever else you fancy.

Melt butter, sugar and honey in pan, then stir in rest of ingredients. Put in a baking tray in oven (180 degrees) for 20 mins. Leave to cool before snaffling.

One last thing, just had to relay my DD's comment tonight. She wanted to see how big my belly is getting, so I showed her, and pointed out that my belly button is starting to stick out (it's a bit of an outie anyway) and she said "yes mummy, it looks like Postman Pat's nose" PMSL!

honeyapple · 20/03/2007 19:42

Thanks for the flapjack recipe Bodkin, I have been after a good one... my flapjacks always fall apart, all the easier to eat mind you. I have an image of your belly button now... but postman pat's nose is MASSIVE!

Bodkin · 20/03/2007 19:54

I know! Hence have given my pelvic floor a really good workout trying not to leak as I guffawed at the image!

fettle · 20/03/2007 20:22

Glad to hear lots of happy vibes on here this afternoon - makes me sad, I have to work everyday rather than be on here!! I'm going to have to check out that thread now - I saw it very early on - thinking that Greedy had something to do with it!!! Sorry for thinking that, but it sounds as if you've had fun encouraging it!!!

I've not had any of those dreams yet - the nearest I've got was last night's dream that DD woke me up from at 1am, when I was having a discussion with someone at some intellectual work-do of DH's discussing the graphic porn in Winnie the Pooh!!! Now someone explain that one to me!!!! Could have something to do with my absolute hatred of English Literature and trying to find themes running through books, which I could really never see!

Anyway, think I'm going to persuade DH to let me have some Ben & Jerry's ice-cream now - need some naughty food!!

Greedy - I'll be thinking about you lots tomorrow. I do so hope it goes well. I'm out tomorrow and Thursday evening, so hopefully I'll manage to get on at work at some point and see how you are all doing. My scan is at 9am on friday - if all goes well I'm going straight back to work, so will try to post at lunchtime, but can't promise, so you'll have to bear with me until the evening. If it goes horribly wrong, you'll probably hear sooner, as I'll probably be coming home!!

take care all
xxx

Morning ladies - how are you all??? Have been trying to catch up with all the flapjack, maltesers, postman pat, builders, filthy dreams and scan news... phew. You girls can chat for England! I love it!

Sorry I haven't been on for ages - I think I needed a bit of a break. Was feeling a bit down with my various horrid pg symptoms and I think I just needed to lick my wounds and wallow for a bit. But I'm happy to say that I'm feeling chipper today - no more awful itchy rash (yippeee!!!! ), morning sickness is bearable and controllable with continuous eating (hurrah!), and my GP has referred me to a physiotherapist for my SPD. So I'm feeling good!

Glad to hear everyone's scans went OK and that you're all well. Good luck for all the impending scans too! Let us know how you get on.

Morning firststar - I'm definitely feeling better thanks. I'm really looking forward to the physio - hope I get an appt soon.

How was the 4D scan??? - I'm so tempted to get one done in April when we have the 20wk scan done. Is it worth the extra cash?

Hey ladies - good recipe Bodkin... I'll get the stuff and do that at the weekend with DS I think, especially as he is finally starting to be a bit more adventurous with food. The other day he had a bacon sandwich, which I admit is not the healthiest thing but it is in the meat family.

Good to hear from you Kitkat - I'd been wondering where you had been. Sorry you were feeling down but great to hear you sounding nice and bright today. I too am considering a 4D scan although I'm worried I may find it a bit strange.

Well, I'm not on a sex ban but I may as well be... That thread yesterday really did make me laugh but the title is such a good description of me... I'm up for a good sex sesh, but I'm knackered in the evening and DH works shifts so often he's home long after I'm asleep. All excuses really... Right, I'm going to take the bull by the horns (so to speak) and get stuck in tonight!! I was going to say something about getting back on the horse, but then I thought that would be taking the conversation to a WHOLE new level

We got some fab food at costco yesterday... so our fridge is for once bulging at the seams. I got a big chunk of cooked ham thinking it was £4.99, but it was £14.99 - DH tried to hide his shock at the till but then told me I'd be having ham every night for the next 3 weeks

Good luck Greedy!!! Let us know how you get on when you get a chance
x

Bodkin · 21/03/2007 11:48

Hi all - just a quick one to say Good Luck to you Greedy.

Nice to see you back Kitkat - was wondering where you'd gone.

Fettle - your winnie the pooh dream cracked me up. Bet you woke up from that very concerned about yourself! I haven't had any good dreams for ages - think I am too knackered. I wake up for a wee about 3.00 every night now regardless of what I've had to drink, and it takes me ages to get back to sleep. Then DD trots in at 6.15 all full of the joys of spring. Luckily, me and DP take shifts for a bit of a lie in until 8.00 - my turn tomorrow - hooray!

greedyforbabies · 21/03/2007 11:50

we always spend a FORTUNE at costco chooster! its so easily done isn't it!!
well.........after all my dirty thoughts yesterday dh really got it last night!!!! i'm still not the most romantic though!...............i got into bed and said "go and have a wash then if you want some!!!" mind you............when we had finished he said " wow! i feel like i REALLY filled you up tonight!!!" we are so romantic dont you think!!!???

scan is in a few hours, so i am starting to get a bit nervous now! so much for being all chilled out........who was i trying to kid hey?

bodkin! postman pats nose! PMSL! mine never sticks out, you must be nice and slim to start with, cos i am sure it is only slim women that end up with outies! thats my theory anyway!

hello kitkat! nice to see you again, glad you are more chipper today! and so you should be...........you will soon be having a gorgeous little baby! whats not to be chipper about!!??? forget all the horrible symptoms, just concentrate on the little cutie inside your tummy!!!

greedyforbabies · 21/03/2007 11:56

fettle! i thought of you first and then forgot to post your bit! just wanted to say all the luck in the world to you for fri morning. i dont want to miss the chance to say good luck if you wont be on here much. i am sure all will be fine, and then maybe you can start to enjoy your pg a bit.
fancy thinking i started that rude dreams thread!!!!!............i had to post on it though didn't i??? i was very naughty yesterday, i was on here FAR too much! i can feel the obsession coming back! i will have to go on holiday again to prove i CAN live without MN!

Crossed with you firststar - sorry about the spotting hon. What did the docs say?

OP posts:
honeyapple · 21/03/2007 12:47

Hi,
Firststar- of course if MW tells you to lay of the sex then I would definitely agree with that, not weird at all. I wouldn't want to risk anything either. I hope the spotting has stopped and hasnt worried you too much. I am sure all is fine if babe is wiggling about . I am still on constant knicker watch, can't wait for my scan, but still 3 wks away. I am paying for mine- a nuchal scan- dunno if this will be 3d/ 4d... they do give you a DVD of it though .

Hope the scans go well today, looking forward to hearing all about them.

It really isnt. I've been on knicker watch since we first started TTC back in Sept!!! I can't stop now...

Chooster · 21/03/2007 13:55

Sorry about the spotting Firststar... Like you said, I'm sure its nothing to worry about, just one of those strange occurances. I remember bleeding quite heavily when 37 wks when DS and the hospital couldn't find the cause. Unless there seems to be an obvious issue they seem happy to count it as "just one of those things". Fingers crossed thats the last spotting you get.

Re: the Ham - its a big big bit of ham (I was stupid to think it was £4.99 really) - and I bloody well hope its good, as I'll be having it every night. Ham, egg and chips, ham salad, ham omlette, ham sandwich....

Thinking of you Greedy...
