Just popped into to have a chuckle at Bodkin?s indoor gardening and to wish you all the very best with your scan FirstStar, I?ll be looking eagerly for a report

Love your turn of phrase MrsMc!

Good luck for Friday Firsty.

Chooster · 14/03/2007 13:53

Good luck for Friday Firstar - And really glad to hear that you are pretty calm about it. Perhaps because your DH is wobbling you are needing to stay calm which is a good thing.

Re: Indoor gardening (love it - the phrase not doing it ), I have to confess to already having had a pubic trim. I was none the wiser about the increased length and quantity until DH said it was putting him off his shaving (I was in the bath ). But I have to admit I'm kind of doing it with the use of a mirror and its not easy (yes, my bump is that big and can't see over it). DH has also commented on leg hair, moustache, nose hair and arm pits. I think he's just taking the piss now. The problem is he has always been more interested in maintenance than me - Bless him, he even does things like look after my toe nails (filing etc). He was laughing the other day that when this little one pops out he'll be responsible for 40 toes

I hope your sex drive returns soon Honeyapple - I definately went off sex during those first 15 wks and even now its sporadic - I thought it was because we had got out of the habit or were too busy but after writing that stuff about my hairiness I'm starting to wonder if there is a different reason .

Fettle - My DS sounds exactly the same as your wriggler! Before he was in a big boy bed, he too would just stay put until we came to get him (sometimes not til we woke at 8.30am -ish) but since the bed change he now happily gets out. But he also gets cold because his duvet ends up all over the place. I've started to put him in one of these fleece suits to stop him getting cold but then it means he goes to bed boiling if he starts with his duvet on (which he insists on!) - I'm sure I'll find an answer soon... Has anyone tried those duvet grips you can get?

Bodders, really sorry to hear about your pal who lost her baby. Its good she was able to talk to you. If she is anything like me, the first time it happened it hit me like a ton of bricks, but after that, when you know you have difficult odds to overcome to get a successful pregnancy it can really help prepare you and help manage your expectations. Having said that I doubt we'll try again... the odds of a problem are just too high. I hope your friend is either able to face trying again or can adjust to the thought of not trying. I hope she is happy whatever she decides.

And by the way, I'd love to have you as my boss - I think you'll be great

MrsMc - Lovely to see you popping back in here!!! Its nice to know that you are keeping tabs on all of us in here x

Well, Bodkin, I tried to remember the term for cutting bushes into interesting shapes but Ask Jeeves led me to some extremely questionable sites sorry to hear about your friend hope she is ok.

Chooster PMSL ? how can I possibly meet your DH now! Sounds like you need to have words with him, certainly, the last time I saw you you didn?t look like a Wookie (sp?!) My sis tried to get a Brazilian when she was 8 months and they refused, she was furious! They were worried it would bring on the birth (think people would rather stick to curries and bumpy streets!)

Just so you can?t look my DH in the eye either Chooster anyone else?s DH/DP prefer a fur-less friend?!

Hello Firststar

Bodkin · 14/03/2007 14:49

Chooster - your DH sounds fab! I don't think mine even knows where the nail clippers are, and I regularly suffer the sharp scrape of a jagged toenail down my shin. Re the libido thing - I think my DP has just decided to let me be in charge of when we get jiggy, as I'm either completely exhausted and no use to anyone, or totally up for it. I think the bump is starting to freak him out as well. I remember by about 7 months last pg we both threw the towel in as bump was freaking us both out by then!

My friend does seem to be quite positive about her situation, and I think that, having had one healthy and beautiful child, she knows it IS possible, so has decided to take a break for a while, and then see if they can cope with trying again once they have recovered from this. As her DD is only 16 months, they have plenty of time on their side to wait and not worry the age gap will be too huge. She also said that they seem to be able to conceive quite quickly, so that is also a plus.

Firsty - less than 3 hours to go til you can get some choccy! Mmm, I fancy a Picnic...

Bodkin · 14/03/2007 14:52

Cross posts Mrs! I think the word you are looking for is Topiary! I'm thinking about having a peacock down there....

I think I see what you're getting at my furless friend (or should I call you Kojak? )

MrsMcJnr · 14/03/2007 14:58

That?s it Bodkin, that?s the word I was looking for! I?ve never had a peacock nor a picnic to be honest ? don?t know why, I love most chocolate!

I love you all - PMSL laughing with peacock and kojak talk!!!

I really needed a good laugh too - DH is out and I'm still feeling a bit scared about everything. No logical reason - scan is a week on Friday. Despite my 2 previous mc, they wouldn't give me an early dating scan, so I'll be 12+4 by then!!

Anyway, never heard of those duvet grip things - let me know if find anything out Chooster. Fleecy suits sound interesting - think DD would melt, she always seems to be hot except when she calls in the night when her duvet's down, but that could be because she just wants it up, not cos she is cold - we don't actually speak to her!! Does that sound harsh?

BTW Chooster, how did you hide your pg for so many weeks? I'm 11+3 and I've definitely got a prominent bump growing - anyone who hasn't noticed must just be blind, or just think I've been putting on loads and loads of weight! Admittedly, most of the bump is fat, but I definitely can't pull it is anymore!!

Firststar - I had two chocolate bars yesterdayshock] (hence the growing bump, I hear you all shout!!!) I was just so tired, hungry and p*ssed off at work - made me feel better though!!

anyway, better think about eating something now - not very good when DH is out. I will ponder what topiary DH would like - he'd definitely be in less is more camp!!

When Greedy back - must be soon, or was she going for 3 weeks. So jealous of her! in a good way!

take care all
xxx

Bodkin · 14/03/2007 20:07

Ha ha Firsty, I'd love to see your face as you are trying to keep from guffawing in the office. Did you manage to feed the choccy craving? Was it good?

MrsMc - Never had a Picnic? [outraged emoticon] Don't they sell them in Scotland? Chocolate, peanuts, raisins, rice crispies - no other chocolate bar comes close

fettle · 14/03/2007 20:14

Bodkin - i'm not allowed peanuts in pg, don't tempt me. It is hard enough that DH makes me spread his peanut butter on his toast every morning! Actually I've now refused, so he has to spread my marmite instead!!

I want a Picnic, a Snickers, bowl of crunchy-nut cornflakes or hot toast with peanut butter!!!

Have to make do with a pear!! Actually strike that, I think we've got some open kettle chips I might go and finish (sssh don't tell DH, he might not notice!!)

xxx

Bodkin · 14/03/2007 20:14

Hiya Fettle - I seem to be the queen of the cross post at the mo! Can't believe they haven't given you an earlier scan with your history...grrr. Not long to wait now though, although I expect time is really dragging for you.

Re. not talking to DD when you go in at night, I don't think that's harsh. I keep things pretty curt, otherwise if you get involved in a chat, they really wake up fully and then you're in trouble!

Bodkin · 14/03/2007 20:16

god I've just done it again (crossed). That's right, I forgot we're not supposed to eat peanuts during pg. Mind you, there is no history of peanut allergy in either family, so hope it'll be ok....

BabyMadwithBump · 14/03/2007 22:58

Why can I never get away from THAT Fing woman she now on Tv on monday (five: 9pm Ten kids and counting) taking about her bull sit, please tell me what to do I've had enough, really really counld cry right now (thinking evil things too) !!!!!

Chooster · 15/03/2007 08:28

Oh babymad, you poor thing. I can't imagine how hard it must be to see your mother in the papers and on TV when she's been so horrible to you. The only thing I can suggest is on the day its on (monday?), do something that really reminds you what great kids and DH you have. Maybe take your boys somewhere cool and then go out (if you can) with your DH for dinner - or even get a DVD in. Anything so you forget that its on. Good luck - I hope you are feeling a little better this morning.

Bodkin - I've also never had a picnic - Its the peanuts and raisins that put me off... I'd be much happier if they took those out ... But then I guess you end up with a toffee crisp. My favourtite is a Galaxy ripple - MMmmmmmmmm.

Fettle, I'm going to get some of the duvet grippers - they are £6.99 from a catalgue I've got. I have an awful vision of DS pinned down to his own bed by his duvet - but for £6.99 I dont mind too much if it doesn't work. I'll let you know... And Bodders is right, I dont think its harsh not talking to DD. I dont talk to DS in the night either even though he's an absolute angel and just wants cuddles and to talk about buses. Yesterday over dinner he told me that he had a baby in his tummy too and he got it from 'bus-town' - God knows what he was going on about but I'm sure he'd rather I gave birth to a bus instead of a boy (of course I'd be less than pleased )

BabyMadwithBump · 15/03/2007 08:39

I've been up most of the night I've had 2 and half hours at best, just keeps going round and round in the head, I have poeple stopping me in the street telling me what a wonderfull mother I most have, but she wasnt not at all, I know inside that she was a bad mother and to have it in the papers and on tv that she's some kind of god it's fuc*ing with my head, On monday I have my scan for the baby and I feel she reck it, I cant think about any think else right now, all I want to do is cry my eyes out but I dont wont my boys to see it at the moment they just think Ive got a cold and not had much sleep, but there off to school in a mo and going to see my very good friend for half hour! I'm wrighting the documentary A letter today even if it's just to make me feel better by putting some lie's straight, really had enough! Soz for any spellings!

Chooster · 15/03/2007 08:51

Good idea about the letter babymad - at the very least it will get some of this off your chest. So sorry this is all going on for you and I really really hope it doesn't spoil the scan. I know its easier said than done, but try to focus on the good bits - i.e your fab boys and new little baby who you'll see on Monday! Good luck

Hiya,

PMSL at all the personal topiary talk! I def need to spend a little time on that area... I'm thinking a squirrel maybe?
Certainly got enough for a nice bushy tail!
I had a kojak ONCE- But NEVER again, I felt like i was 7 yrs old. NOT sexy!!

Babymad- sorry to hear about all the stress your mum is giving you. Perhaps you should write to the newspaper with your side of the story.

Fettle- Good luck with your scan. I hope that you can feel a bit excited about it as well as anxious.

Thanks all for the sex tips! I will have to have a nice bath later, a quick trim, and then try and stay awake to seduce poor old DP. Think I need some chocolate for sustainance (sp?). Maybe a Twirl?

honeyapple · 15/03/2007 12:44
