Hi Girls

We found out on Good Friday that we're expecting our first child and we won't be telling our parents for a few weeks so for now I thought it was worth starting a thread so I've got a place to get excited about all things baby with people due at a similar time - without chewing DH's ear off about it constantly. Bless him he's excited too but I seem to want to talk about nothing else right now which is hard seeing as we're the only ones that know our little secret!

My EDD is 2nd December according to the NHS website which makes me 4+5, and I've got my first doctors appointment this Friday. I understand they won't really do or say a lot but think they'll refer me to the midwife? Or do I do that myself?? Anyway, I'm excited!!!

Hope everyone's feeling good and upbeat, looking forward to some due date buddies to chat to Smile

Lovewatching, where is your scan? I can't believe they won't let you have photos. They do tend to charge around £3 per pic, but I've never heard of then not allowing you to have one. I do hope you manage to get one.

I've been getting twinges, sometimes making it uncomfortable to sleep. All def ok though. Might try the pillow idea too. I'll probably get one of those pregnancy pillows later.

Youngoldmum, I found nausea easing then caught me out the other day with violent vomiting. Let's hope it goes completely for all of us very soon. X

berkshiregirl2016 · 02/06/2016 20:03

Vb87, of course it's normal! I'd be more concerned if you weren't a little anxious. I had another scan with my consultant yesterday and, because of the twinges, I'd convinced myself something was horribly wrong. All was fine, baby moving about a lot. Even my consultant thinks I'm overly anxious but having lost 3 last yr I'm a nervous wreck about everything! It's officially out now for us so everyone is aware. Was scared of telling people at first but trying to get comfortable with everything. I'm sure you're going to be absolutely fine x

Kajlo · 02/06/2016 20:38

Vb87 - I am having my first scan next week too (Monday afternoon) - and I am super worried. DH is trying to play it cool to calm me down, but I can sense he is getting a bit on the edge too. This weekend is going to be the slowest on record. I don't think I'll stop worrying until I hear/see a heartbeat and a wiggle.

chiggins · 02/06/2016 22:25

Hi Ladies,
A little late to join in but better late than never!! Having a nice evening to myself to have a good read up on my latest baby blerb! Hubbie has gone to watch the footie at Wembely! Have my 12 week scan booked for a week today and although I'm pretty nervous for everything to be ok (35yr old first timer) I'm super excited! We haven't told anyone yet and keeping the secret is fun but a challenge!! I drive a little 2 seater at the moment so we went outlast weekend to look at 'more suitable' cars... Had to stop myself from mentioning this at work and to my folks in the 'what I did at the weekend' conversation!
Shocked to be reading about all the Zika warnings, I had no idea there it was further than Brazil-ish. Haven't got any holidays planned this year Sad as we're doing major building work hopefully finishing 1st dec! So pennies needed for building and now babyness!!!!

Youngoldmum · 03/06/2016 13:12

Hi everyone. Yep just when I thought MS had passed, felt terrible last 2 days!
12 week scan on Monday, very nervous too but can't wait to be (hopefully) able to tell everyone as its getting really hard to hide from everyone, especially my 7 year old DD!!

Popskipiekin · 03/06/2016 15:46

Good luck for scans everyone. Sorry, I posted a while back and then dipped out because we were having some bleeding issues, but seems we are back on track (had a scan at 10 weeks, little pickle a-ok). "Proper" scan on Thursday next week when I should be 13 or a bit more weeks. Can't wait!
Also can't wait to be able to fess up to my boss - I didn't spill the beans for the last pregnancy until 20 weeks as I wasn't really showing until then, but I have been noticeably expanding since 6 weeks and it's getting very very hard to hide! Blush Anyone on DC2(or more) finding this? my stomach muscles are clearly shot.

Youngoldmum · 03/06/2016 16:03

Yep. I was tiny with my first, didn't really show until about 20 weeks. This time I couldn't fit in my jeans from 6 weeks and my belly looks like it did when I was about 24 weeks last time! Eek!
Glad all well x

WinterRose92 · 03/06/2016 19:51

Hi, guys!
We're expecting our first child, due 8th Dec! We're so bloody excited and this is all new to us, generally have felt quite well, did have a few bad days with morning sickness, but I think (hope!) it's passed now! I'm 13+1 now and last night had a really bad nights sleep as I had a pain on my right side, which subsided after a while. I've had some cramps here and there, just wondering if anyone else is suffering from the same at the moment? Have had two scans, all is looking very healthy and well, and I'm not really worried, just want to know I'm not alone! 😄 Hope everybody is doing well, exciting to see all these December due dates! Xx

Youngoldmum · 06/06/2016 12:58

Hi everyone.
Had my 12 week scan this morning, so exciting and all was well. Found out I'm a week further along (midwife says I must have ovulated early) so new due date is 9th Dec.
Hope everyone is well xx

Popskipiekin · 06/06/2016 13:34

Exciting Young!! Always nice to catch up a week Grin. Hope your DD is excited when you tell her. And glad it's not just me hitting the maternity clothes early...

Youngoldmum · 06/06/2016 18:59

Thanks Popski. Telling her at the weekend when there's more time for her to absorb the news! Full on maternity wear here, I'm huge!

Kajlo · 06/06/2016 19:09

Had the scan this afternoon and saw a strong heartbeat and plenty of wiggling around, so pleased! I have also finally got to tell my parents and the world, which was such a relief and a weight off my shoulders. And it will be their first grandchild so everyone is super excited. Due date spot on, 15 December. I hope you all have great scan experiences this week, it really is incredible seeing the little bean - or plum at week 12 really - wiggle around! Kx

berkshiregirl2016 · 07/06/2016 20:35

WinterRose, congrats! I've had niggly twinges too, sometimes quite uncomfortable, but not bad enough for paracetamol and all looking well. I'm already showing and it's my first. I'll be 15 weeks on Friday and already wearing maternity jeans and leggings. So much more comfortable.

How are the rest of you ladies? Really pleased to hear the scans are going well x

lovewatchingrainfall · 07/06/2016 20:55

Had my scan today which put me a little ahead so am now due the 13th so excited, still chance of a Christmas baby if I go over. X

Popskipiekin · 09/06/2016 16:59

Great news on the scans ladies! Had ours today, s/he was bouncing around so much they had a lot of trouble with the picture! Due date 11th December. Have been planning my maternity count down already Grin

WinterRose92 · 10/06/2016 18:31

berkshiregirl2016 Ahh, thanks, that does make me feel better! I think I might be starting to show, too, sometimes I look in the mirror and I'm sure I'm showing, but other times I'm not sure! I'm quite curvy. Fiancee thinks I am, so exciting! My normal jeans feel too tight now, so wearing looser, more comfy bottoms. Think I'll go buy my first pair of maternity jeans this weekend! So when is your due date?
Hope everyone is okay and doing well xx

Vb87 · 10/06/2016 21:54

Hi ladies, sorry for the long absence. Hope everyone's ok. I had my scan yesterday, seeing that little heart beating away was just priceless. We have a wriggly little thumb sucker. New due date - 11th December.

ppole27 · 12/06/2016 23:30

Congratulations!! I am now 12+1 and am due on 24th December. Simply the best Christmas present I could ask for!

I have told my brother but not rest of family or mum just yet. I am trying to think of a really nice way to share the news, I guess I will need to very shortly as I am already starting to show!

chiggins · 19/06/2016 21:47

Exciting to see all your news! We had our scan a couple of weeks ago on the insistence of the midwife to be told it was too early 10+5 so got another scan Wednesday Smile
Went to my folks yesterday for Father's Day dinner and spilled the beans (one of my sisters wasn't there) and they were all so excited, my mum even nipped off to the kitchen for a boohoo she was so happy! Hubbie caught up with her and gave her a big hug Grin.
So my other sister came home today (we're not bosom buddies) and we made a special trip over there to tell her. Wish I'd sent her a txt message to be honest. She was more interested in getting dinner before she had to go home!!! My folks and little sis just sighed in disbelief as she buggered off to the kitchen. She's made me feel all grrrr for the rest of the day, I don't want to let it get to me but I can't help it Angry. Argh rant over!!!

Youngoldmum · 20/06/2016 20:17

Hi everyone
Just giving our thread a bump. Very apt as mine is massive!
Anyone else got a big ish bump already?

Popskipiekin · 20/06/2016 20:46

Chiggins I'm excited for you!!! Grin
Do you think there's any chance your older sis is jealous? Does she have kids? Could she be miffed that you've "got there first" so to speak? Shame she couldn't be pleased for you but I wonder if there's a reason...
Young my bump looks enormous by the end of the day (it looks a bit more under control when I wake up). I'm 15 weeks but bigger than a friend who is 19. Fun to have a bump though! This bit between scans and when morning sickness - hopefully for most of us - is dwindling makes me feel I'm not pregnant any longer, so having the tum is a nice reminder.

Youngoldmum · 20/06/2016 21:55

Ha yes I love having a bump. Mine is the same, gets bigger as the day goes on!

Anybody felt baby move yet? Still waiting here although I remember from DD it's very subtle at first

chiggins · 20/06/2016 22:22

Awww thanks Popskipiekin SmileGrin
She's also younger than me and just generally a bit 'me me me' thought she might be a little excited about being an Auntie but I guess the goat curry in the kitchen was more exciting (to be fair my Mum is a great cook!)
Anyway I've got it off my chest now, scan on Wednesday eeeeek! Just hoping everything is still fine after our early one, very excited to start telling everyone at the weekend Grin
Is it your first? I read that first timers are later show-eers but I don't know how true it is?? My jeans are feeling tight but pretty sure it's more bloating rather than bump! Defo going to buy a mat bra at the weekend, anybody have recommendations?

Popskipiekin · 22/06/2016 13:47

Ah chiggins sorry misread 'other' as 'older' somehow. Hope all went well at your scan today!
This is DC2 for us. I didn't show much at all until 20 weeks last time, this time I could easily pass for 5 months. Fortunately I have an embarrassing quantity of maternity clothes from last time so I am well set up Grin
Feeling some popping but no idea if baby or indigestion! I had anterior placenta last time and didn't feel much till quite late on, so it will be nice if I get some proper movement soon.

Is anyone going to find out the gender? I am crazily excited about our 20 week scan because of this. In fact, I might not be able to control myself and considering booking a quick private scan at 18 weeks to see if they can tell then. DS or DD this is it for us, and I loved knowing DS1 was a boy early on (17 weeks) as we named him soon after and really bonded like that.

Youngoldmum · 03/07/2016 11:15

Hi ladies, how is everyone finding the second trimester? I had a few days around week 14-15 where I felt great and full of energy...now at 17 weeks and I'm exhausted all the time againConfused
Anyone else?
Eagerly awaiting the lovely energetic and glowing phase I had in 2nd tri last time. If I sit down at the minute, I fall asleep!!
