Anjo1 · 17/12/2006 10:54

hi everyone !!
suis- we've got the same due date
Totally with you on the cumbersome thing I feel like I'm the size of a hippo !!
and I'm finding Christmas shopping really tiring. After two hours in east kilbride yesterday I was like "take me home now!!" to DP I also can't see how on earth I'm going to make it to the 11th of Feb.8 more weeks of getting bigger and bigger??! ( does't help that I seem to have recently developed the ability to eat practically evrything in site !! )

lazyemma · 17/12/2006 11:59

I did a little bit of christmas shopping yesterday. Town was predictably busy, as was the train out of the centre - standing room only - but a nice man offered me his seat! I was in a very bad mood by then, hating everyone, and this small act of generosity nearly made me cry.

TALLULAHBELLE · 17/12/2006 13:42

Hi MerryOnion,
I am going to Queen Mum's. But not till June so not really thinking that far ahead yet - far too scary .

Vio · 17/12/2006 14:21

hi everyone!I'll hv my next antenatal appointment tomorrow morning..not worried cos i can feel the baby kicking.

Finally bought nursery furniture from the Pram centre..personally, i didn't want to buy them that early but DH wanted to get the main items sorted so decided to buy the M & P set...in fact, totally agreed with what you girl said about wardrobe and changing dresser(probably wont change the nappy there anyway)..but the baby room in our house was empty ( nothing there at all ) so thought we really do need a chest of drawers to put nappies and other baby stuff and a wardrobe may not be of any use now but think the boy will eventually need one in the future..also, the cotbed can be converted into a junior bed so we thought the furniture can last till at least 5 -6yrs and buying them all as a set now seems to be a cheaper.

Anyway, also went to babiesrus cos wanted to get a moses basket with a stand.(saw one i like from their catalogue)..think will put the baby in our room for the 1st 3 months...but the one i saw on the catalogue has no padding around it..i would rather prefer one with an extra padding. ( just feel more comfy). so..still looking now..may buy one from mothercare.

Need a glider chair as well so will get one later...

Not sure if any of you want to buy Tomy baby moniter..initally we wanted to get the priemier advance one..( boots now selling it for 54.99. ( even cheaper than Pram centre)but DH's friend told us they used BT one which they really liked it so now we would buy the BT one instead.

went to many shops yesterday cos wanted to have a rough idea about how much we will hv to spend.....

suzi2 · 17/12/2006 19:42

Anjo1 - join us on the Feb 07 thread

Vio - the BT digital monitor plus is fab and we'll be getting a second one for this baby. Which is saying something as my DH usually likes the cheapest of anything... but refuses to have any other monitor! Costco often have them a bit cheaper. But ebuyer.com seem to have them at a good price at the moment too.

weewishyouamerryonion · 18/12/2006 18:02

vio - hope it went well for you today. x

GMMP Still here for 2 mins, what is it about that place? I hate it in there too - dont know if its the atmosphere or feeling rushed or the MW's the miserable receptionist or what?!!

geordiemacmincepie · 19/12/2006 16:57

all of the above... plus the fact that the rooms resemble portacabins from the 80's!!! Still I have an appointment for the 9th at Linluden... unfortunately not with Dr Shulz, with the midwife, although perhaps I will express my concerns... will probably mean my notes will be "lost" or something mind!!!

trixymalixy · 21/12/2006 22:03

Was my last day at work today! got loads of nice pressies and mothercare vouchers!

Thought I'd be really happy at not having to go back to work for ages, but feeling a bit weird about it.

geordiemacmincepie · 22/12/2006 08:56

I'm sure you'll get into the swing of being at home!!!!

I'm here, not doing an awful lot really, mum bought my pram yesterday, as the m&p one that I had seen a wee while ago was reduced from £450 to £237!!!!

Hope everyone else is ok and looking forward to xmas!!!

We've got our work night out tonight... meal at the casino, then out and about in glasgow... oh the joys...not!!! I'm taking the car in as I really cant be bothered trying to get a taxi or train!!! Ok, moan over!!!

still here! I had a midwife appointment yesterday, at 24+5 weeks. All is well: blood pressure was 110/60, and the uterus is the right size and stuff. Also, I felt the baby's head, which was a weird but nice experience. The midwife had to push down quite hard to feel where the baby was, as s/he was settled quite low down in my pelvis. After we'd been prodding around in there, the baby went absolutely ape - must've been the first time s/he felt intrusions from the outside world! Was jumping about like a little demented thing for about half an hour afterwards. Got to listen to the heartbeat too, which sounded good to me: strong and fast.

Last day at work today: hurrah!

lollipopz · 22/12/2006 11:54

Hey all, i'm still here, due date is tomorrow so i'm hoping for a miracle!!
Got stress test done on wed and they decided baby was fine, although a little on the large side so they gave me an induction date of 2nd Jan, thats next year, not happy!!

Have been throwing my self into organising christmas, and fighting with my employers who are absolutely clueless and have managed to miss me off the payroll 2 months in a row, after managing to get hold of some director of personnell who was somewhere on the m8 on the way to an xmas do, have managed to sort out a temporary payment till they get their heads out their asses and sort in next month!!
Ahh sorry rant over feel much better now ! hopefully my stress levels will now fall and a miracle will happen and i'll go into labour and have my boy before christmas!! wish me luck, and enjoy your holidays everyone xx

lazyemma · 22/12/2006 12:20

I can't believe you haven't been paid for two months, lollipopz - that sucks. Hope it gets sorted soon.
