Its lovely to "see" so many people on here.. we are still missing a few.. banana, liesel, liath but I'm sure they'll be around soon!!!

We'll have to have a big meet somewhere central in the summer once all the babies are here!!!

lazyemma · 15/12/2006 09:49

hello everyone!

I'm living in Glasgow at the moment but I'll be moving to Tayport in Fife sometime in February/March.

I'm due on 7th April 2007, which makes me nearly 24 weeks pregnant. I'm 28, and this is my first pregnancy. I don't know whether I'm having a boy or a girl and after lengthy discussion with my husband, we've decided we want to keep it a surprise. We had been considering paying £75 for a gender scan in Livingston, because as some of you know, you don't get a routine 20 week NHS scan in Glasgow and they have a policy of not telling you the gender even if you do get a scan. But we decided that it?s more exciting, both for us and for family etc, not to know until the birth.

I'm English (from Hereford originally) but my husband is Scottish. I'm tickled pink by the idea that I'm going to have a little Scottish baby!

This is a really good thread with smashing people on it. I have to admit Ive been on MN for ages but recently went into the antenatel Due in July thread and I felt like the new girl at school, I knew no-one (except Tutter and it was all v. strange) so glad to see some teuchters and some weegies up the duff on here too.
Xmas Smile

geordiemacmincepie · 15/12/2006 11:06

Its good because with the exception of miaou we are all probably within an hours drive of each other!!!

Plus most of us are in the "not from scotland no mates boat"

I can see this turning into a proper little social thread!!!

OP posts:
LieselVonGiftwrapp · 15/12/2006 11:32

I think we should all have a piss up at Maiou's - post natal of course- where she lives sounds ace.

geordiemacmincepie · 15/12/2006 11:41

fort william is amazing!!! I love driving up through Glencoe!!!

I'm thinking log cabins, pyjamas and lots of wine!!!

Baublesbenson · 15/12/2006 12:12

Arrgh, just realised my last post never appeared.

Anjo - I'm in Newhaven, not far from Victoria park, lovely place to live.

Miaou - I was working in Sunart this summer and was soo tempted by rural life despite pissing rain and midge hell. Don't envy you that trip to Inverness though - have your last labours been fast, I can imagine that with a fourth you might find yourself giving birth in a layby somewhere on the A82...

Miaou · 15/12/2006 12:40

Hehe baubles - there is no way I would make it to Inverness if I went into labour at home! My labours have been 16 hours, 8 hours and 4 hours - seeing a pattern there? . If I had to go to Inverness I would have to go and stay in accommodation there until I went into labour. Am hoping it doesn't come to that!

thelittlestboho · 15/12/2006 13:27

Hey my wee hens, I'm from South Ayrshire,am due in 8weeks, 3rd dd, with an age gap of nearly 13yrs from my last one, lmao. What have I signed up for?? Nae, all good in the hood. Am I the furthest along on this thread? And to all the Anglo-settlers, haha, you don't say "people", you say "folk". It'll help you blend in a bit more, lol.

Hi everyone, GMM-a big meet up in the summer when all the babies are here sounds great!!! love the idea...the weather will be lovely!!!

thelittlestboho · 15/12/2006 14:10

Guys, just a wee link to a very worthy appeal that STV are supporting, it's VERY significant to us all. Time to count our blessing and really embrace the spirit of Christmas. For the price of a packet of nappies/vests/cute cuddly toy in this country, we could make the difference to a life or death situation for babies and their mums in Malawi.

liatHoHoHo · 15/12/2006 18:31

Hi folks,
Just to add myself - I'm in Edinburgh, have a gorgeous dd and am due in April too.

Ocean Terminal would be great - mind you I can't go there without being sucked into that lovely french baby/childrens clothes shop and buying lots of clothes !

suzi2 · 15/12/2006 20:09

Suis - didn't realise you were in Stirling. My DH is from Stirling (well, from teenage onwards) and his family are still there. So perhaps once our little ones are here we should meet up there.

Lazyemma - where will you give birth? Would it be Dundee?

PurpleRabbit · 15/12/2006 20:15

Hi, I'm another Scot that doesn't quite have a bump yet - only 6weeks, due 8th August. I have one DS, aged 22 months, and live just outside Glasgow.

ja9 · 15/12/2006 20:22

Hi Suis, I'm one of the other Scots on this thread although my DH is English so half n half baby .

I think I'm due next boho in just over 5 weeks [gulp]!!

Went to my ante-natal class today the hospital tour is on the 19th of jan and I'm due on the 21st!!! Just hope I don't go early!! Not as bad as one other girl in the class who is due on the 9th, what fantastic planning!!

weewishyouamerryonion · 15/12/2006 21:45

evening folks - just back from my works do in edinburgh.. first xmas in 21 years without a drink.......... eek

i am also one of the elders on here - another creakign 35 yr old

suis · 16/12/2006 06:37

Hi Suzi2, that sounds like a great idea ! Having only recently moved back here I don't konw many people so a wee meet when we've got our new babes sounds good.. and I know what you mean about feeling cumbersome.. I think I have the turning cirlce of an oil tanker a present. I had my first experience this week of not being able to squeexe past the door to get into a toilet cubicle and having to go to the disabled one instead.

Ja9 - You too ! if we time it right, sounds like I could be meeting you in SRI ! I'm totally convinced that I'm not going to get as far as my due date, (Feb 11) so it might yet work out !

lollipopz · 16/12/2006 10:11

Hi sorry trixy but i'm due next, am due a week today!! think i am getting induced during the week though!! xx

weewishyouamerryonion · 16/12/2006 10:25

Its great to see so many folks on here! shame we didnt have it going before the bumps meet up last week. plenty of time for more!

when i woke up this morning - i felt really itchy allover, the boobs being the worst. is this skin stretching ???? slapped loads of body butter on - keeps dps pesky hands at bay!

hoep you all have a fab day - no rain so far so fingers crossed and looli- when ARE you going have news for us?? {fgrin]

trixymalixy · 16/12/2006 14:11

You still not had that baby lolli!!

Sorry forgot you have until wed at the latest!!

Have been looking at TENS machines and starting to sh*t myself about labour now.

I'm such a wuss i think I'll be asking for an epidural after about 10 mins!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 16/12/2006 16:20
