bythesea You might be feeling movement but not actually recognising it yet. I didn't fully believe mine weren't wind until at 24 weeks I had a scan and could see/feel my baby kick. Now I can see it from the outside which is plain weird but reassuring. You also may have an anterior placenta. If i told you not to worry though I would be a total hypocrite as I was really worried for my 20 week too. All was fine apart from baby being in an awkward position but that just meant I got to go back a week later! which I enjoyed much more because I was still reassured from my 20 week

Great news Cloud I hope everything goes well on Saturday.

I see the MW tomorrow and I am worried. Baby is wriggling like crazy but I keep getting paranoid that she isn't growing. Which I know is silly. I am also worried that I am going to get told something that will make me 'high risk' like protein in my wee, or high blood pressure or something. The worry never stops eh!

Treaclepie19 · 27/05/2015 15:14

Wow that's great cloud :)

bythesea I was exactly the same. Had my 20 week scan at 21+2 and I still wasn't feeling things. The occasional movement I put down to wind.
I'm still the same now. The only time I'm sure I am feeling movement is when I see my tummy move.
I saw the midwife today and she said thats normal. She said there's a lot of worry put on women to feel movement early and actually for most women 22-24 weeks is the earliest.

Midwife appointment went much better than I thought it would :) Got to hear heartbeat which was lovely and she took a bit more time listening to me which was nice.
Can't believe that when I next see her I'll be 29 weeks :|

Great news cloud. Not too long to wait either.

Good luck for Monday bythesea. I understand the anxiety but hopefully you will be able to relax a bit afterwards. I found it a turning point for me.

That said I have anxiety again about the birth. Really feel like it's so near and yet so far. The movements feel different now and I am paranoid about the gestational diabetes causing the placenta to fail. On the other hand I would rather she stays put until dh and I are shot of these bugs.we are both a lot better but it would be a really nasty one for a new born to catch.

bythesea82 · 27/05/2015 15:35

Thank you all for the reassurance Smile, good to know others have the movement worry, treacle I agree that it seems to get talked about a lot from about 18 weeks.

longest glad the bugs are on the way out, hopefully as they go you can feel a little more excited. Have the mentioned any extra checks due to GD? Hopefully change in movement is just little 'un shifting to make an appearance Grin

treacle glad midwife went well and she gave you some time.

happy too right, there's always the next worry! Hope the mw can reassure you on growth.

broodylicious · 27/05/2015 15:51

longest, what week are you now? The movements should feel a bit different towards the end because there's not that much room left for baby to move. I still get kicks and punches but more of the squirmy type movements now (32+2)

happygojo · 27/05/2015 15:59

Ugh bythesea and treacle I swear some people say that they can feel their babies moving before the line has appeared on the FRER! every pregnancy/baby/woman is different.' Now I am 29 weeks and for the last few weeks there is no denying that bubs is a jiggler!

Treaclepie19 · 27/05/2015 16:28

Definitely happy!
My SIL makes me laugh. She's been "feeling movement" since 12 weeks. My midwife laughed and said "just wind, don't tell her" :p

So glad you've been offered a scan cloud. Will have everything crossed for you.

Oh the movements thing is so worrying isn't it. I've never felt many kicks, more squirming type movements. I do have an anterior placenta though.

Thanks for the nightie recommendations. I will pay a visit to Primark at the weekend.

llama I feel ovulation too Blush

I wonder if it's possible for there to be physical signs at the point of fertilisation? I'm well aware I sound like a COMPLETE weirdo.

Really? That's awesome. Aren't our bodies clever? With my MC I felt the implantation. Think I felt it this time too. I would have to check my internet history to see which symptoms I googled on which day Grin

broodylicious · 27/05/2015 18:40

raff, I could pretty much tell you when I got fertilised (oh that sounds so romantic, doesn't it?!) I never feel faint but on that particular day, I almost collapsed in a pet shop with dd. I had spots before my eyes and was so dizzy. I was really frightened because I was 25 miles from home and had no way of getting back without driving. How I made it home, I'll never know. I got a bfp at 12dpo.

I won't say too much as I will out myself (low risk I know but just in case) but I was visiting a client with work and during the meeting I had to be taken outside by one of my colleagues as I came very, very close to fainting. I went home straight away and slept for the rest of the day.

I couldn't for the life of me work out why; I'd eaten enough, drunk enough water, wasn't too hot, wasn't ill. I've been looking back at my dates and I'm fairly certain that would have been the day we conceived.

happygojo · 27/05/2015 19:30

7 days before my period was due I had a nightmare about a man with a circular saw for a hand. 6 days before I just 'felt' pregnant and took a test and got the faintest squintiest line. I think I just 'knew'. I then took many many tests and didn't believe it until 3 days before my period. I then took many more tests just to check Smile

longestlurkerever · 27/05/2015 20:02

broody on the home straight now. My due date is saturday. Mentioned movements changing to midwife but she didn't seem concerned. She is still moving but it's more rolls from side to side than kicks.

So tired now. Not sure how I will cope with labour if it starts at the end of a day looking after dd. First thing in the morning would be perfect but statistically less likely

mrsdiddlydoo · 27/05/2015 20:56

longest I can't believe how close you are. How exciting!

Eeek longest, that's not long for you now at all!! How has that happened so quickly?! How do you feel in yourself? Do you feel as though baby could be on their way soon or do you reckon you'll go over? So exciting!! Yes I was going to say that there's a lovely ex-mw on our AN thread and she's just this week warned us about the movements changing close to the end so not to worry unless we don't feel anything for a bit. It's a god send having her around and she doesn't mind answering all our frankly tmi questions either!! Grin

broodylicious · 27/05/2015 22:26

Oh and yes, I'm hoping for labour to start around 4am, go to hospital about 6/630am (defo before rush hour and that ruddy hospital car park gets filled up!), pop out baby before 11am then get discharged around 4/430pm so I can be back home in time for topsy and Tim, boj and Charlie and Lola dd's tea time and put her to bed as normal so she doesn't feel pushed out from the off. Well, surely, if I put this in my birth plan, this is what's going to happen, right?! Lol! WinkGrin

Gumblossom · 27/05/2015 22:51

Sounds like the perfect plan Broody. When I had my last baby, we went to the hospital at about 9 am and I was home, tucked dup on the couch with the babe and other children at about 5 pm. Was lovely Smile

Cloud, I am chuffed to hear that you have a scan on Saturday.

I have my first scan (7+2 today) this afternoon. It can't come fast enough. Although I have envisioned all the worst possible outcomes as I lay awake from 1 - 4 am. At least I will know either way. I will be back later with my news.

Longest - I am sure you will find the surge of energy required when the time comes. How exciting: it won't be long until you meet your lovely baby!

Treaclepie19 · 27/05/2015 23:07

Sorry llama, didn't mean to be insulting!
You're definitely right about some people feeling more and being more aware of their bodies.
I'm just bitter about SIL.

Very exciting longest :)

Broody If that's in your birth plan then that's what will happen :p

Good luck with your scan gum x
